Best Car I have owned – Have used the car for over 3 years in a mix of long road trips and daily community. It has preformed brilliantly and has excellent build quality. Put it in sports mode, and change to sports suspension and it preforms well enough to be enjoyable, but can also handle peak hour community in comfort. I think it looks great from all angles and has… Read more

some nice touches inside - some of which are options such as AC cooled seats, walnut trim and folding mirrors. Seats are terrific - very comfortable for long trips. What is most impressive is fuel economy. I have the diesel and it can get as low as 5 litres per 100 km on long trips and is usually under 7 litres per 100 km in the cit - and I drive across the harbour bridge in peak hour every day. Only expected wear and tear to date and it has done 110,000 kms. Servicing is moderately expensive but I get it done at a dealer as I want it to be at optimum performance. All in all, a very good car which was inexpensive to purchase and has been extremely reliable and relaxing to drive...

Incredible car and I can't find a car with better for buck – I bought my CC V6 second hand with about 100,000kms on the clock. It is my daily driver and now has 135,000kms on the clock. It has been driven hard, often foot flat to the floor with the engine allowed to pull to red-line using the paddles to shift. Hasn't given me a second of trouble. The finish on this car is amazing and it still looks brand… Read more

new.

It is a sleeper because it looks like the 4 cylinder models which are slugs, but this car will do close to 5.5s 0-100km every time you flatten it.

Brakes and steering are good. My only complaint is that sometimes the front guard rubs when cornered really hard.

Liking it so far – I bought a used VW (passat) CC 2009 model in late 2017. So far I've been happy with it. Mine was a "fixer upper". It was a repaired write-off and I got it stupidly cheap, but then spent $3k getting the A/C fixed and working (at a VW dealer). It's a V6 with the DSG, and cream leather interior. I bought it because my previous car, a diesel… Read more

hatch, was too boring and I wanted something with more sound and style.

I like:

> Cream leather interior and comfy sport seats (I drove a Ford Focus ST and the seats were so uncomfortable with oversized leg bolsters that's what put me off buying one)

> Heaps of power, 0-100 in about 6.2sec by my timing, 5.6sec factory claim when new

220kW / 350NM

> Sounds great, although to get the amazing sound that you can find them producing on Youtube, you have to get the $5k exhaust system by Supersprint or similar

> Sporty / classy appearance

> Adaptive cruise control

> Heated seats front AND back!

> Adjustable suspension - comfort/normal/sport

> Electric seat adjustment on both front seats

> Standard removeable stereo - very easy to put a 9 inch touchscreen in off ebay for $300

What I don't like so much:

> Handling. There's a lot of wander in the suspension and you have to adjust your steering as you drive. It's better in Sport mode but then you lose the comfort. This isn't really a car you enjoy taking on a twisty road or a very long trip. However as it's a repaired write off I can't say how much this affected it.

Happy with it overall especially for the price I paid. Had it 9 months now.

Power and passion – What an exclusive car. The body design drew me to this car, I always feel special driving it. The brakes a very sensitive which I needed to get used to but stop on a dime when you need to. The Steering is very precise but ride is a little on the harsh side over potholes. There isn't any over the top tech in the car which distracts you from… Read more

driving. Paddle shifts on the steering wheels is a treat. Seats five people, ample boot space, service once a year which is good.

How do I rate this magnificent vehicle – Being a Ford owner all my life, I find this CC is just unbelievable, bought for a song with only 28,000 klms . Safety is paramount through out, changing one's driving habits. Put a foot wrong and you are told to correct it. Still learning the electronics that control this vehicle. DSG 6 speed Gearbox is great to use whether city driving or on… Read more ·  1

the open road.

Being a 4door coupe and the style has attracted curious people.

It will be in our family for a good while as we will average 10,000klm a year

and be virtually new looking all the time.

Runs on 98 RON only and shod with 19 in wheels that has the 3 phase ride control option.

It has the break down VW assist package that tells the exact location of the vehicle if involved in an incident of distress and has the European speed reading function that reads the speed zones.

It nearly drives itself so to speak, well it does when it chooses a parking lot for you.

That's a little scary.

Lots of glitches and lack of follow up service – I love the look of my CC, the turbo power and efficiency of the diesel fuel. I have had Toyotas and a Honda Euro in the past. The CC has by far more glitches than any other car I have owned - they shouldn't have gotten through testing as it makes my experience with VW disappoionting. I have taken things in for fixing before the warranty period is… Read more

up but VW won't replace a sensor because their service computer equipment couldn't pick up the problem. Interesting when I supplied a video clearly showing the problem. The boot sensor not working was also something the workshop supposedly couldn't replicate - then the reception gentleman took me to my car to show how to activate the boot sensor - it didn't work 4 out of 5 times.

Exceptional vehicle – Owned since new, the CC TDi has been a standout. I'd done 77,000 fault free km, until a few weeks ago when it was clear something was seriously wrong with the DSG, a gearbox I have learned to love. There are few large vehicles that will deliver a consistent 5.5 l/100 km, and fewer that have the features at the price I paid back in 2009. There… Read more

are even fewer vehicles that don't induce a sense of boredom after a few years - every drive in the CC over the years has been rewarding. The looks, the reliability, dashboard layout, the space, the economy and VW's level of service have made this a perfect vehicle. Once a year maintenance services have averaged out at an extremely reasonable amount less than annual state registration costs.

VW's level of service was particularly evident when the gearbox started acting strangely a few weeks ago - necessitating a full replacement, which was fully covered by them, with a free loaner car made available for the entire period. Which other manufacturer and dealer, would, after 6.5 years, provide service of this caliber?

At some point I'll need to start looking at a replacement, and VW will be top of the list

Performance - AWD - DSG - Beautiful inside & out – I had a VW R36 prior to this and wanted to get an updated version. This was as close as it got. When I brought it home (with visual enhancements including lowered suspension, dark tints, GTi steering wheel, DSG paddle extenders, GTi pedals etc) my elder son said that it was like upgrading from the Mitsubishi 380 we had to the R36. Beautiful car… Read more

in & out. Very powerful. All wheel drive allows me to have fun in the wet, or punch it around corners. It's not a full on sports car like the R36 however - even with the Eibach suspension springs and using Sports suspension mode. It's very much an all-rounder. Rough roads - press Comfort. Wife drives it in auto. I usually drive in Manual or Sport when I want to have fun.

Huge boot. Spacious interior. Lots of high tech automation and features.

Not perfect (yet to find a car that is): Occasionally jerks taking off from lights. Body roll is a bit much for nimble handling. The voice recognition sucks. An odd vibration behind the dash. An odd noise in the air ventilation system. Squeaking rear suspension at only 40,000km (possibly a broken bushing but bloody hard to find)

If you modify the exhaust, this thing sounds like a supercar.

Stylish car, expensive to repair – My passat CC and I have been together just over 12 months. The first month of owning it, my CV Joints started clunking. VW charged $1500 for them to be replaced. Just after 3 months, the car went into limp mode. I later found that a leaking EGR valve and a sensor had failed. VW charged me just under $2000 for this repair. The overall car is… Read more

nice to drive and looks stylish, but with the extremely poor customer service provided from VW Head office, and the sloppy workmanship that 2 Melbourne dealer workshops have provided fixing this car, I'd never buy a VW again

Excellent quality car – I bought a used 2010 Passat CC V6 last year and I'm very happy with it. The car goes hard when you want yet can still return impressive fuel economy. The overall build quality is very good particularly the interior fit and finish. I looked at a BMW 335i and an Audi A4 Quattro and in my opinion the interior leather and plastics quality of the CC is… Read more

marginally better than the Audi and far exceeds the disappointing BMW. The 3 mode adaptive suspension which I thought might be a little gimmicky is actually very useful and will be a feature I'll look for in future cars.

The DSG transmission is generally quite good on the run but you must slightly adapt your driving style to avoid jerky starts from standstill. It can also shift too eagerly down into 2nd gear in many corners where 3rd gear would be more appropriate but when you expect this you can overide manually with the excellent paddle shifter.

Lots of little things that make the ownership experience better are included such as active cornering xenon headlights, memory seats, heated seats (front and rear) and auto dipping side mirror when reversing. Performance, styling, build quality, superior value and features compared to other Euro brands. DSG foibles, rear suspension sits too high, multi spoke wheels fiddly to clean

Ultimate style, luxury, technology, safety and performance – Best car I have ever owned or driven. Its been over two year since I bought this car and still I enjoy driving it and the looks still bring a smile. Exceptionally well equipped and built quality. v6 sounds great and goes even better. Everything is automatic or electronic. Car can even tell if wiper washer fluid is low, auto hold at traffic lights,… Read more

reverse park itself and apply parking break itself. Double clutch automatic transmission is smooth and very quick, very few cars would keep up with it in a drag race. Seat warmers in ALL the seats with front seats climate control function. Xenon lights have active and static cornering function. Styling, equipement, quality, performance and the nice touches minor things like sun visors are bit small

Great ride, finish, performance and handling – Selected this vehicle after years of having company cars. I bought the diesel model mostly for fuel efficiency. I must say I have not been disappointed. I would have owned over 20 cars in my life and driven many dozens more. This is built well and performs better. The appointments are second to none (the wife has an Audi and this is better… Read more

equipped).

The only issue I had was a niggling knocking in the rear end. Apparently this was a systemic brake caliper issue that 'didn't require a recall because it wasn't a safety issue'. That was disappointing to hear. It was fixed easily enough but it was up to me to complain. I'm sure VW can do better in the customer service area than that.

The other thing that potential buyers should be mindful of is that this is a low car. I mean there is very little ground clearance. The thing goes like a scalded cat (especially in sport mode) and handles like its on rails but it is close to the ground so if you live on rough roads you should be weary of this and....it doesn't like speed humps. I'm sure this is the same with all sports cars.

So, a small price to pay for a car that sits in the similar company as a A5 and Merc as far as equipment levels.

Happy to recommend. Ride, performance, finish and equipment levels. Get the rear calipers checked/changed before you leave the dealership.
