Poor customer service – I purchased a Volvo XC 40 EV from this dealership with 5 years manufacturer warranty about 2 years ago. Yesterday my EV stopped working with multiple error messages on dash. I rang Volvo who suggested NRMA. The NRMA was very good and diagnosed that the internal 12v battery was faulty. He advised he could not change it and therefore advised Volvo should look at it. I took it to Volvo and I was horrified at their lack of caring. The guy at the front just said leave it with me and we will call you later. I tried to explain what the NRMA chap had said and also tried to show a video of all the error codes on the dash. He could not have been more disinterested. Anyway I left the car and come 5pm hadn’t received a call. I called the dealership and a very rude chap advised that they hadn’t found anything so far and that it would need to stay here. When I asked about when I could pick it up he advised you can come and take it now. When I pointed out that it wasn’t fixed and was still under manufacturers warranty he just didn’t care. His tone and demeanour suggests he should not be working at the customer interface. I am still waiting to hear from them the next day but still nothing. I am hesitant to call them for fear of talking to this rude person again. To Volvo, you have to do better and treat your customers better than this. You are all pleasant and happy when somebody buys a car but the after sales should match that. People spend lots of money on their car and so expect a level of integrity and service. Please honour that. This experience has made me question buying Volvo ever again. My wife also has a Volvo which I suggested to her but in hindsight that seems an error on my part. So please do better and stop treating your customers so shabbily.
