Good range, stylish and easy to use BUT battery needs an upgrade
Does exactly what it claims in a small stylish package. The baby unit always needs to be plugged into power, and the rechargeable parent unit is small and easily pocket-able or stands up on a bench. Good sound quality (I can hear if my wife asks for something from the nursery, and then reply to her, it's like a walkie talkie), handy digital temperature, easy to use in the dark, volume and sensitivity adjustable. The range is great, works across my house and even outside when I go to the clothes line. The lullabies are a bit tinny but actually m...ake me sleepy. The only problem is that the included rechargeable batteries are rubbish, they take too long to charge and go flat quickly, this will frustrate you. I solved that by grabbing 2x AAA NiMH 900mAh batteries from Jaycar, and now the parent unit lasts heaps longer. Unless you have to have video, for about $65 delivered + $10 on replacement batteries, this is a very handy unit.
Questions & Answers
Does this machine play white noise to soothe the baby to sleep?
Nope. It does have some very basic melodies, but we don't use that. We watch TV in the next room instead. I guess every baby is different and you'll have to see what works for yours - for us a routine was the best way to teach him how to sleep, and it works 'most' of the time. We know mothers who use music or white noise in their routine, and some that don't.
