Do not buy! – Do not buy! This has been the worst monitor, used minimally for five weeks. It regularly disconnects from the camera (not even 10m apart) rendering it useless to ‘monitor’ your baby as it’s sold as. It does not just turn back on or reset either. The noise option has intermittently been crackles through the camera. The battery life is shocking,… Read more

lucky to last not even five hours with ‘dim light’ on majority of the time. Contacted vtech, no responsibility on this product being faulty post clearly reading a lot of reviews.

Never buy a Vtech baby monitor – I have the pan and tilt Vtech 7inch screen monitor bm7750hd it has had issues from about one week in, the monitor screen would drop out of signal and then turn off and not turn back on again, I called Vtech and they said reset and try again and it continued to happen and then didn't happen for a while so I kept using it. Then one day I was using… Read more

the monitor and I heard my baby screaming from the other room, and on the monitor my baby appeared to be peacefully sleeping, I went into the room and she was on her front very upset crying and still the monitor showed her to be happily sleeping. This is when I decided to contact Vtech again, but because there's a tiny chip on the plastic cover where the back stand attached to the monitor which has happened purely from using the back stand, they have said that voids the warranty and they won't replace the monitor which has been a problem from the beginning. It feels like a really dodgy tactic to me, making a monitor from such brittle plastic that they can void the Warranty on a product that has technical problems. What a total waste of money and a disappointing company that is making money of technology for babies safety. funnily enough they thank me for my loyalty to their company at the same time as Refusing to help me out AND put a link to their online store at the end of the email, what a joke.

Visually great... when it works! – I had used the parent unit for thus monitor under 10 times, after it ran out of battery for the first time it would not charge, I called VTECH they were great and replaced them unit and received it within 6 days. However this parent unit has issues too, when it turns off to turn it back on even with a full battery it needs to be on charge, the… Read more

reset button and power button pressed at the same time. It is ridiculous! I love the look of the unit but it just doesn't work properly.

Average – Was great to start with but as weeks past by the more problems we found with it, from if you move the owl to quick it freezes and you have to go in while your baby is asleep to disconnect and reconnect to reset it. Found it also stopped alerting me of her crying sometimes and heard her through the walls screaming to come in to a very unsettled… Read more

child that’s been crying for ages. (Makes you feel like a crap mum) Overall it’s very basic and isn’t connected to wifi so no stress of hacking.

Terrible image on parent unit – I have the camera on baby's bedside table and I can barely make out what I'm looking at during the night. I find the night vision absolutely terrible. During the day it's not much better. The image is terribly pixelated and grainy and I can not see baby's face or chest rise and fall. Not very happy to be honest.  Show details

Excellent monitor – Top quality visual and audio that actually picks up baby crying and alerts you, then power save switches on when no noise is detected after 50 seconds - and the white noise machine doesn’t set it off. I’ve had other brands before and this monitor is by far the best I have owned. Couldn’t fault it. Great range. Easy set up.  Show details

Worked well till it didn’t – Worked extremely well for the first 9months. A few small issues with the temperature feature. But overall was happy. However, the last week it has been randomly disconnecting from the camera. I reconnect it then hours later it disconnects again. I have ended up sleeping on the floor in my baby’s room the last 2 nights.  Show details

Reliable Baby Monitor – After returning another brand baby monitor we chose the Vtech BM5500. We have been very impressed with the quality of image, range/coverage & audio. This is not the fanciest model on the market but it definitely does what we need it to. It has a lovely big screen & it is very easy to move the camera. The temperature display is also very handy. … Read more

My only suggestions for improvement would be to improve battery life (it lasts a few hours without charging) & for VTech to design an arm that will hold the circular base of the owl camera for mounting.

Amazing product for our first baby girl :) – Have been using this for nearly 2 weeks now non stop. Very handy to always check the room temperature and the fact that you can move the owls head remotely is so convenient
