When I travel to go camping, I cover the cooler in an old doona I purchased in an opshop, for added insulation, and when I have set up camp, again cover with a doona. I make a point to open it a minimum number of times. As the ice melts, make sure nothing is getting drenched, and keep the chilly water for as long as possible. If you drain the cold… Read more

water, there is more space than needs to be cooled by the remaining ice. With a little knowledge about the way a esky/chilly bin, cooler works, can have a wonderful camping experience. This is an excellent product. Hygienic and easy to clean. Has a handy drain.

very disappointed. Absolutely does not keep ice for 24 ... or even 12-ish hours. For the premium price paid, it is basically a scam. You would get the same result from a generic Eski from Aldi or Kmart. Eski always kept in the shade of camper annexe, however after 12 or so hours, there is just a watery slush. Premium price paid is not the… Read more

problem ... you get "caught out" every now and then ... that's life. I just assumed that an alleged premium brand, paying a premium price you would get a premium product. definitely not the case.

Problem is ... the wife said we should check first ... I said "Naaahhh" ... and quoted above philosophy ... ie ... alleged good brand, therefore must be good if you are paying triple the price of a Kmart Eski.

Boy ... was I wrong.

So now, many years after the bitterness of a poor choice has washed away under the bridge, my beloved wife is going to bring it up very time we use it, discuss it with me, ... remind me of how she was right .... for eternity :-)

junky stuff, does not meet promises ... don't buy it

Faults – It keeps things cold as it’s meant to which is great and can’t fault it but the locking mechanism is rubbish and has broken. Which is very disappointing considering the high cost  Show details

Does a good Job – I recently bought a Waeco 41 litre Cool Ice Box and used it on Christmas Day 2019 along side my older Evakool 64 litre Ice Mate , as a rough comparison on ice retention they were on par , with the Waeco holding ice slightly better , both boxes were prepared , pre cooled and iced on Christmas Eve . The only minor concern I have with the Waeco is… Read more

the screw in drain bung not tightening firm enough and may possibly leak but nothing that some white plumbing tape on the threads cant fix , otherwise it does a good job

Great option to an esky – Purchased a Waeco Icebox (41 litre) on a recent holiday to save purchasing ice for the esky on a daily basis. The "lcebox" works great and can keep items cold for 3-4 days, great for camping or caravaning. The icebox is robust and can be secured easily in the back of the ute.
