We purchased this stick vacuum from the actual Hornsby Godfrey’s store on 30June 2023, and the vacuum has been working well until last week when the head stopped rotating, the lights on the head are no longer on, and the vacuum no longer picks up anything! This was purchased for pet hair, and wooden floors. I can now no longer contact any… Read more

Godfrey’s or Werteim specialist to help me under warranty (2years). This vacuum has been meticulously cleaned and cared for, and I would have expected it to last longer than 19months!! Personally, I’ve always been loyal and liked Werteim, but now, for this excessive price, I should have purchased a Dyson stick vacuum.

For the amount you spend I wish I had bought another brand. Piece of cra_ always blocks up and loses suction. When placing on charger regularly the container that holds the waste its clip opens and it goes everywhere. Show details

My Wertheim vacuum W7301 has been terrible since we got it. It was sold to us as being suitable for dog hair. However, it isn't; every time we use it, the dog hair gets stuck at the top end of the pipe. We sent it back once, but we've had issues ever since; now, the batteries last only five minutes. This was expensive to buy at the time, and I… Read more

would not purchase this one again. we use this on carpet and laminated floors the performance is the same on both floors.

Terrible vacuum – This vacuum cannot do its one job. Hair and dust clog at the bottom after 2 minutes in use, you then have to manually get a knife and poke at the blockage. Just unbelievable how poorly this has been designed. Please do not waste your money. Show details

Great until death of battery and stick joint – We bought this from Godfreys in 2020. It has great suction and does a good job on both carpet and tiles! It is also handy for vacuuming the car and the attachments are useful. They are also "on board" the charging unit so they have somewhere to sit rather than be in a cupboard never getting used. It does clog up but we have a hairy dog. Thankfully… Read more

it can be unclogged fairly readily. I do wish a manufacturer would make a vacuum with a direct path from dog hair to canister though WITHOUT going around corners to get clogged. I've read the other reviews about the battery life and how disappointing it is. I agree... I have kept ours clean but the design of the vacuum with regard to batteries and charging mean that they are on charge when the vacuum is on the stand. So the design basically allows for / encourages the early death of the battery. The stand is not really adequate in that the electrical charging points don't always touch. In addition to all this, the joint between the motor and the stick has become rather wobbly. The design is not great - the torsion at this point is more than if the joint was lower down. I understand why it isn't - to enable the head of the vacuum to get under beds etc... But it comes at quite a cost. I'm told the batteries are only available for the new version of this vacuum and I suspect ours is the old one - fancy not being able to buy a battery for a vacuum that is only 3 years old!!! We have basically paid about $250 a year to have a "stick vacuum". I think that is way too much. If we can get a new battery, I'll have to weigh up the $300 cost of putting them in a vac that has a wobbly joint versus getting another vacuum. If we can't get a new battery/ies then I won't be getting another Wertheim stick vacuum.

This is actually a good Vacuum Handstick – I had come out of a bad experience with a Vax VX80 handstick which I also reviewed here a couple of years ago and I learned a lot from that experience. Although Bunnings who I bought it through were good, the reality was, it was a very poorly manufactured item and not one I should have got involved with. So I did a bit of research before I bought… Read more ·  2

this Wertheim product and 'road tested' all the handsticks under $1,000.

Although manufactured in China the overall performance of this Wertheim Handstick I have found to be good, it cleans well on every surface and I very rarely have to use the boost function. In fact by using boost, the power-head sucks itself to a carpet surface with enough force that it becomes considerably more difficult to push over the carpet. The handstick is easy to clean and filter removal is clearly marked with arrow points, you can't make a mistake.

Reading through this sites reviews, the most glaring issue with the Wertheim Evolution Handstick W7301 is, the battery life. Most of the complaints are........the batteries struggle to last longer than the warranty period and the user is faced with a $194.00 outlay for a new battery! Before buying this vacuum I DID read all the reviews here on Product Review and I specifically ignored all the 'poor battery' reviews because, this particular W7301 Handstick has a major advantage over other Handsticks.....it has 2 self contained batteries, and both are separate plug in items which slot into the handstick for use.....they are not part of the vacuum body. The reality of the bulk of these complaints is........the user is ABUSING the battery. Now when I say users abuse the batteries, you have to understand how batteries are made and how they work. NO BATTERY LIKES TO SIT INDEFINITELY ON A TRICKLE CHARGE! They are constantly reacting to voltage alteration, they are cycling, the working life of batteries is considerably reduced by leaving them plugged into power, and this handstick virtually encourages you to do just that, as both batteries charge from the supplied vacuum stand. After using, the user slots the vacuum back into the stand and the batteries are constantly attached to a power supply between use!

As each battery lasts for about 30-35 minutes if not using boost function, I fully charge one battery and put it away in a cupboard for two months, (it is not advisable to store an empty battery). The other battery I charge straight after each use and then when the red charge indicator turns to blue I turn off the power supply. I do this for two months and then swap batteries........ give that one a rest!

I am now two years down the track and both batteries are perfect....... still operable for about 30 minutes per battery. And when they do deteriorate, (being stand alone items) I can take them into my local battery re-packing place (each major city has at least one) and have the batteries repacked for $60.00 rather than being obligated to buy new ones from Godfreys at $194 a hit! I am looking forward to many years of use out of this vacuum. I have done this with all my other power tool batteries over the years, some of them (DeWalt) are 20 years old and still running just fine. What I am saying is.......DON'T BLAME THE PRODUCT IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE IT! I wish manufacturers of rechargeable battery appliances would make this more prominent in their operating instructions! In my star ratings I have only given this an average 'Value for Money' rating based on the suggested retail price of $799.00. I was fortunate to purchase it brand new privately for $390.00 which made it a complete steal! But even at $800 this unit compares more than favourably with its similar priced competition!

Worst vacuum I have ever owned... and most expensive one I have owned as well! – I was told by the sales guy that this vacuum was the bees knees and best one on the market, award winning etc... I wish I had done my research before even walking into Godfreys. I thought I’d support the smaller business as opposed to going to one of the main electrical goods stores... more fool me. The vacuum clogs up way too quickly. I was… Read more

assured it would make easy work of pet hair. This turned out to be anything but the truth. It clogs before the cylinder is full. And the head is always tangling with anything I can get it’s hands on. Difficult to pull out clean. See pictures.. they were taken after a half hour of use post cleaning the machine.. Oh and Wertheim team, don’t bother telling me to read the manual because I have, many times. It takes more time to clear and clean the vacuum than what it would to vacuum the house with a decent machine. There are some things that you can’t sugarcoat... even a roll in the glitter wouldn’t fix this deplorable device. Trying to go through the warranty/repair process with Godfreys is like squeezing blood from a stone. I’ve just accepted to cut my losses and move on, never to go back to Godfreys again. I hope you learn from my mistake.

Wow!!!! – I completely concur with Jules61! Just bought my Wertheim stick vacuum yesterday and still delighting in my choice. big a production to be dragging it out whenever needed, and almost broke windows on occasion as bulky backpack stuck out too much! I am not 'into' housework and will avoid if I can but now the ease of simply taking the lightweight Wertheim from it's stand when needed is one of the best things I've done for myself in years! It cleans beautifully, so easy to empty on the go and maybe best of all my dear old doggie is no longer terrified when I vacuum as machine is so quiet. As a retiree I live an active, happy and busy life and am very lucky, but seriously my life has just become even better :) ... Wertheim pricey BUT worth every cent!!!!

Fabulous, glad I bought it – Light to use, no need to hold the on button down while cleaning, does a great job, I didn't need the boost feature and I've got carpet and two cats. Easy to use and empty. I love it. Now I can vacuum my car without having to haul out the big heavy corded vacuum. It was a good buy. Show details ·  3

Thought the vacuum was junk until found out we were putting it together wrong! – We bought this vacuum second hand and were very disappointed with it. It seemes to suck but then spat stuff out and was just really not working properly. Went into Godfrey's and he told us that a very common problem people have is that they put the black and silver internal piece in upside down. The wide silver end piece clicks into place. This is exactly what was wrong with ours. It's a dream now! Show details

Great at first but lacks durability – This vacuum is light and easy to use and I like that it is easy to clean and empty. That being said I wouldn’t recommend. mode. I have pets so to get anything sucked up you HAVE to use the boost mode which drains the battery and overheats the machine very quickly. I also noticed that it gets finicky the more I use it and now it will often just cycle and spit the contents I’m trying to clean and just fling them as you vacuum. This is especially the case on hard surfaces. It definitely performs better on carpet. I loved this vacuum when I first got it but I’m just disappointed at its lack of durability.

Started off so well, now disappointed – My Wertheim evolution has suddenly stopped sucking and the boost function has stopped working. There are no blocked pipes and the filter is clear. It did feel quite warm before it began to malfunction. I only purchased it in January 2022 and would expect it to last longer given the price. Before this happened it was an ok vacuum. I live remotely so can’t take this back to a Godfrey’s store, how do I remedy this? Show details

Worst ever vacuum – Biggest let down ever. After being talked into it by Godfrey's sales person not realising it is their own brand $700 for a vacuum cleaner was a big outlay for us but with 2 animals and a big house we were prepared to invest in quality . Well this was the most hopeless thing I have ever purchased. The hair and dirt never made it to the bin it would all get clogged in the stick. The machine is good at making a lot of noise but that's it. Show details

Great idea, poor quality – Great for cleaning the house, stairs, hard floors and carpet, with good battery life, adequate suction and good range of implements. BUT it's is weakly constructed, especially the main tube connectors to the motor head and the power head. Absolutely terrible and ends up being a completely useless appliance after about 12mths or regular use. I wouldn't buy again. Show details

Better than Dyson, but not better than Ryobi One+ for the RRP plus battery replacement costs – Not worth the $900 I paid in 2020. It's currently $700 and still too much when the Ryobi One+ (R18XSV914) with all necessary accessories, better battery performance is just $459. Don't get me wrong, the Wertheim IS a good vacuum and still better than Dyson. I found the Werheim batteries underwhelming still though. I ran them flat on every use, and… Read more

often both of them - and they lasted just 2 years and cost $300 to replace. Some places were asking $200 per battery! I will not fork out $300 on them again when the same priced Ryobi One+ 4.0 Ah battery ($149) lasts longer - not only that but for $229 I can now buy a Ryobi 9.0 Ah 18v battery that lasts longer than both Wertheim batteries combined. It just makes no economic sense to stick with the Wertheim long term when Ryobi perform better and are way cheaper from the get go. If you are stuck between Wertheim and Dyson, sure, go with the Wertheim - but in Australia I can only recommend the Ryobi One+ stick vacuum over both brands. I've already forked out $1200 on the Wertheim and I simply do not find it worth the price when compared to the Ryobi equivalent.
