So sorry I ever bought it!!! – I have had my vacuum cleaner for 10 years BUT it only ever really satisfied me completely for the first two years. The suction is good. The power head does not work properly anymore and hasn't for about five years - switch and light constantly goes on and off and operates only in the forward motion. It is a very heavy vacuum cleaner, and plastic… Read more

handle does not handle it. Mine has been cracked for a number of years and when I took it for a service they didn't fix it. Now it has completely broken. My old electrolux lasted me 30 years. I am very disappointed as thought it would last longer for the price I paid. No wonder they have discontinued this product.

Plastic parts crap – Stand at base of power head disintegrated cannot replace power switch on hose handle disintegrated replace at $199.00 plus labour brushes broke off from rollers told general wear and tear and plastic canister you buy as spare parts that fits on pole and lets you see how much the vacuum is picking up snapped off at plastic connections again told… Read more

wear and tear or not enough care. For the price of $1400.00 5 years ago it should have lasted better than my 30 year old Electrolux. Not only is heavy to pull around it rolls over onto it power button and turns itself off. Not happy.

I like it – I have had my Werthheim vacuum cleaner for about 6 years now, it was passed on from a friend who had it for many years before me, so it's pretty old now. Apart from it being a bit heavy to carry, and having to replace the power head once which was expensive, considering its age, I love it, it has great suction, the power head is fabulous, and as a owner of a big Golden retriever dog and a cat, I couldn't live without It.  Show details

Been a Fantastic Vacuum Cleaner – Purchased the item 6 years ago. Yes I agree with one thing about all the previous reviews and that is the machine does roll on its side very occasionally and that part of the design could have been thought out better. If it wasn't for this I would have given it a 5 out of 5. The power head suction is the same as when I bought it and I still marvel… Read more

at the amount of grit it pulls up from the carpets. Only ever had it in for the free service about 5 1/2 years ago.

Cleanliness can be expensive – The suction power of the machine is tremendous, especially with the power head and you can certainly notice how much more it sucks up compared to any previous vacuum cleaners I have owned. The tube for the head is also quite strong which was an important feature in deciding to purchase this product. After 3 years now, it has started to overheat a… Read more

bit so this is the only downside I have experienced so far. Overall, quite pleased. Strong suction power, strong tubing. Expensive and has started to have problems with overheating (3 years old however)

Terrible Wertheim Vacuum – My partner bought this puppy dog vacuum cleaner 3 or 4 years ago and it's not working properly since I've taken it back to Godfreys 3 times now and it's always 'Oh you must be doing something wrong with it." GRRRRRRR. He paid $1,500 and got a free $500 floor steamer also puppy dog pull a long (I hate them with a passion lol). The steamer is awesome, the vac is crap. Cheers! Mazz.

Don't waste your money – Bought this six years ago and I've regretted paying $1400 for this piece of junk ever since. Firstly the hose went, then the power head, now the engine has overheated and blown up. Don't be fooled by the salesman, or that money buys quality. It has been an absolute lemon.

Parts Keep Breaking Off! – Vacuum suction & powerhead is fantastic but everything that can break does. Waste of $1200. O ring snapped so powerhead no longer connected, powerhead clip broke, dust canister caused an electric shock through my arm to my shoulder, tube keeps blocking, filter cover cracked and won't stay on & the list goes on. Bought a Hoover instead!

Absolute rubbish an expensive cheap machine – Since buying the machine worked on day one and not for the rest of the 7 years i have had it. My biggest mistake was returning a Dyson, which my husband bought for me, to purchase this current rubbish i have. Soon after warranty expired, jockey wheel fell off, power was cutting in and out from rod connection to powerhead, lost bristles on brush… Read more

of powerhead after a year, cord does not fully retract, repaired 3 times and still does not fully retracts. My friend has a cheap but fantastic machine which she has had for 10 years and still going strong. This machine is still costing me money as i have to buy their bags.

Steer clear from all the hypes of the weirtheim rubbish. Should have gone to specsavers so i could have seen more clearly.

Do not buy! – We have had a Wertheim 6030 for approximately 5 years now and it has been in for repair more than we have had it to use. (Lucky we had another 99.00 vacuum that just keeps working) We purchased the product from Godfreys and they haven’t been to bad but will still not replace the item, the first fault occurred in the first 3 months and since… Read more

them we have had 2 x new motors, 2 x new shafts, 3 x new little power heads, 1 x new large power head. This does not include the regular 6 monthly break down for another thing going wrong.

We paid $1400.00 for and have had an annual repair bill of around $400 to $500 for stuff they repair that is not covered by warranty.

Do not buy this product, don’t get me wrong when it works it works fantastic, but it hardly ever works properly.

Another shaft has just broken and the power head won’t work and now they are trying to charge us for the parts and labour.

Unfortunately I recommended the vacuum to my mother before we had the first problem and Mum bought one as well, hers has had similar and as many problems and you guessed it I never here the end of it.

So save yourself some grief and cash and buy another brand. Ease of transport back to the shop to have repaired Price/Unrealiable

A bad investment – This was the worst investment in household appliances i ever made. Really heavy to lug after you, it has no rotation at the base of the tube meaning it constantly tips to the side, turning itself off. The front wheel broke very early on - cheap plastic fittings just wore out under the weight. The tube itself does not break into parts meaning that… Read more

if you suck up something large by mistake, it gets stuck and you can't break into smaller sections to remove it. I had to flush stuff out with the hose! The efficacy of the vibrating head is a complete myth and simply sprays bits from deep in the carpet to other places on the carpet. It just gets covered in a fine mesh of carpet hairs as it slowly destroys the carpet. I absolutely have hated using it and am so cross with myself for making this purchase. Omg have just read the other comments - it's official. Worst vacuum cleaner ever! It deserves no stars at all.

Backbreaking domestic machine. Avoid at all cost, dreadful doesn't do the job – The worst vacuum cleaner I have ever used! The head is very heavy to push along the canister itself keeps rolling over making cleaning a real nuisance pushing the head along and then having to retrace your steps back and manually move the cylinder as it doesn't just roll along behind as you vacuum, just constantly rolls onto its side. This puts a… Read more

huge strain huge strain on ones back! It's like having an upright and a canister cleaner. All the disadvantages of both unfortunately. It's so large and unwieldy that's it's difficult to manoeuvre around furniture or into corners. Even the areas that are possible to reach the head is temperamental as to its cleaning abilities, sometimes it works sometimes not. It's large and bulky to store. Unable to think of any good point. The cleaner was in our rental apartment, extremely shocked at the price, only look up the cleaner to see how to change the head to a lighter one as the brush has stopped working on the larger version. Avoid! Really feel for the people who purchased one.

Ineffective, cumbersome, difficult to manoeuvre, very heavy. Dreadful.

Don't get sucked in by the Godfrey's salesman – I spent $1200 on this about 3 years ago, thinking I would have a machine that would last me at least 10-15 years. This was the worst investment I have made in my household, no question. Now I have an expensive piece of junk in my shed that will cost over $400 for the new parts to make it work, not including labour. It sucked well when it did work.… Read more

Now it just sucks. The power head is not working, but the problem could be with 3 different points - the hose, the stick or the actual power head. Nice man at Godfrey's said it was my fault for using it too much and that they'd never had any problems with that model.

Don't waste your money folks – Absolutely dire machine, it clogs up and is difficult to unblock. It tips over when dragging it along. The cable retractor sometimes doesn't work. The handle tips over if you try and leave it upright. Apart from that it does seem to have good suction, but so do other machines. Well done Godfreys, you got me! Good for cleaning the car Very over priced,

Do not buy this lemon – The worst waste of money ever. Do Not be sucked in by the salesperson. We have had nothing but faults in what we thought was a "Rolls Royce" product.....clearly it isn't, it's a lemon. Expensive lemon – We bought this vacuum after reading a very favourable review on the Choice website. Sadly, we were disappointed. Wertheim 6030 - – Purchased August 2008 - Power head blew up and left burn marks on the carpet 08 January 2013. I'd never purchase Wertheim again! amazing and decided to invest in a 'cyclone electronic dust interceptor' to save on dust bags. A year into using the dust interceptor, it broke and bought another. The vacuum cleaner was noisy, but it did the job and cleaned well. That is, until the power head started to make strange noises and it literally sparked, blew up and left scorch marks on the carpet. Considering the reviews I've read so far, glad I wasn't electrocuted. I would never waste my money on another Wertheim. Product – This is a dud, clunky, not very user friendly. Had my machine for 3 years, third party attachment broke after a year. The salesman from Godfrey would have sold ice cream to Eskimo, and we were gullible. Overpriced, not great value for money. Look at other makes, try out first before buy.

Werthiem 6030 – I have now had my machine for 2 yrs and it is the biggest waste of money I have ever spent . The sales person sold it to me as the best machine for picking up dog hair I have a short hair dog ,and the brushes get stuck all the time the machine in heavy and does not roll easy . I have purchased a 99 dollar lighter machine from Target that does the job just as we'll . And simultaneously h easier on the stairs . Do not waste your money

Waste of LOTS of money! – I don't know how the smooth talkers at Godfreys talked me into this one! The vacuum itself sucks like a dream specially on carpets, it really does do a good job but that's where the good ends. power connection for the power head keep breaking because it's so heavy to pull around, the hard floor attachment is bloody useless it just pushes stuff around on the floor, you have to lift it up and put in straight on what you are trying to suck up, the power cord retractor thingie only half works, the clip on the side of the unit that is supposed to hold up the wand when not in use broke in the first week but never worked anyway, the handle is uncomfortable it's obviously made for man hands. Overall I hate it! I wouldn't recommend this junk to anybody! Does an excellent job on carpets Everything else!

I would never buy another Wertheim – This vacuum cleaner has a great power head feature which cleans carpets incredibly well. That is where the good news ends. The machine is very heavy. are brittle and break of the wand. This is possibly due to the flexing required to manœuvre the machine around.

The head for smooth surfaces is very average indeed. I had a phillips vac for 15 years and loved it! Should never have let the smooth talkers at Godfreys convince me to buy this (the guy did not even own one himself)

So much for german engineering! Ever time I take it back for service or repair there are other suckers with their wertheims in for repair also. Power Head Expensive, heavy, breaks.

Wouldn't buy another wertheim – It is heavy and impossible to move around. It keeps flipping over, especially on carpet and then turns itself off because of the location of the on/off button. The heads are hard to get on and off. The retractable cord mechanism is iffy, sometimes it works sometimes not. When the power head is on, there is nothing to help the wand stay upright… Read more

when not in use, it seems to have a slot for this purpose but it doesn't seem to work. The ergonomics on the handle are terrible, I think it was designed for man sized hands because I find it hard to grip the large handle. The normal head is terrible to use on carpet, it doesn't seem to stay on the floor when you drag it backwards which makes for a very cluncky movement. The wheel broke off just after warranty ran out and was expensive to fix. I have now discovered that the brushes on the powerhead have worn out and I will need to replace this, I'm sure at great expense. This is my second wertheim and I won't be sucked in to buying one again. Excellent suction and great with pet hair. Everything else.

Love it – After owning my vacuum for over two years now, it still amazes me how much dirt collects in the bypass cylinder attached to the wand. Terrible – It looks to me as though you have tried to update something which didn't need updating, cheaply using the original body which now has useless channels or grooves with no corresponding notch on the wand. Which makes the worst screaming noise when separated from the wand...I hate it! Unfortunately I owned the previous model of this vacuum cleaner… Read more

which was faultless. When the cord retracting spring mechanism failed on my old model I gave it to my daughter and purchased a new one for myself, this being a 6030. Having unpacked this latest model and plugged it in, I proceded to vacuum...after completing the stairs I noticed a large split which was down to the bare wire in the very fragile cord! Fortunately I wasn't electrocuted! The cord is way too flimsy and the plug is of an inferior quality. I took it back to Godfrey's Shellharbour where I had purchased it and they swapped it with no hassles. Having previously owned the model before, I must say that I am EXTREMELY disappointed with this one; even though there is a 'channel' on the body of the cleaner to stand the wand up in, there is no corresponding notch on the wand for it to stand with, which I find very inconvenient. There is a purposefully made slit in the nozzle nearest the handle...I have no idea why it would be there, other than to annoy its owner...which, when disconnected from the wand in order to get at something more closely, such as bird seed, it gives off the most irritating screeching sound which I find infuriating.

Cleans well, but expensive and heavy – There's a lot to like about this vac, but unfortunately quite a few things to dislike. The likes first: It does a great job of cleaning. The motor head is way better than any turbo head I've used before, and really gets into a dep pile rug. It's adjustable so it also cleans a low profile dirt mat at the door. The long cord means I only have… Read more

to unplug-replug twice to do the whole house.

But, it sure is expensive. And heavy. I hoped I could get my kids to help with vacuuming,bu it's too heavy for them to lug around. If you pull it by the hose, the body is likely to turn over.

And the worst, bits keep breaking and falling off. the enclosed turbo brush broke just after the warranty ran out, and the wheel at the bottom of the body fell off a few weeks later. Unfortunately both are expensive to repair.

Don't know what I'll get when this finally wears out, but it won't be another Wertheim. Good cleaning on a variety of surfaces Heavy, cumbersome, expensive, bits break off

Terrible – Generally a very expensive vacuum. I don't see the need to spend $1500. Very expensive for what it is. The barrel tumbles over while dragging around. There is… Read more

no actually clipping connection point to the floor head.. It comes off at least twice during a vacuum. Very ordinary instruction manual, looks like a photocopy. When using the floor head on carpet it looses suction on the pull back motion. I generally have to try hard to keep the head down to connect to the carpet. End up with blisters on my hand.

Good – Dont aim it towards your face when using the other attatchment and anybody with a 6030 will now know why they are getting pelted by dirt. its a shame you cant carry one more thing and thats the part that you use alot the one with the brush. This is really dangerous cause at the end of the hose, the silver part where you attatch the different parts there is a hole or more like a slit. It took me ages to work out why I was getting hit in the face to the point of it stinging to work out how it did it. As it sucks dirt up bits of dirt fly our of the slit. The only way you can not get hurt is putting sticky tape over the hole while using it for the small thing where you get on the ground to suck. Once the proper long hose is put back on that is covered and you dont have any problems.

Terrible – I was quite disappointed after about the second time I used this vacuum. The darn thing kept tipping over whenever I veered off. cleaning" light is very annoying. If you believe that indication on a shag pile carpet, you'll be there all day. Again, and I don't know why in this day and age, especially for the money, there is problems with the tubing getting blocked up over time, and the design of the handle doesn't allow for easy dislodging. For the money, I expected much better performance. I've had better results from much cheaper vacuums. Long extension cord. Good vacuum bags. Small carpet head works very well. Tips over too easily. Needs 4th wheel. Clogs up too often. Head and top handle too difficult to release. The air pressure outlet near the handle is poorly designed, making it dangerous to your eyes if you are using crevice or brush accessory tool to suck up broken glass or sand. The power head cannot lay 180 degree to the tubing, which is really annoying when going deep under beds or cupboards. Too expensive.

Excellent – Wertheim 6030 is a great machine. I have recommended to all my family to purchase one. If you have a pet, do not choose anything else. great to use in the car. Being able to adjust the height of the power head was fantastic as well, I have a black mat in my lounge area and no other vacuum has brought this up looking as good.
