We bought a Westinghouse fridge freezer from the good guys with extended warranty, we have had draw problems since we bought it, we were told from a sales person at the good guys that the draw issues were covered by warranty, made a claim and apparently they are not. I don’t think they are meant to be like this

Fridge not cooling. Called service. The technician arrived and said there is a fee to pay. I said the fridge is still under warranty. I was told the warranty is for parts but not labour. I paid. Then I was told that he could not repair it and it had to go to the workshop. It was picked up. I called, and after several calls ( I am sure it was… Read more

offshore support), it was escalated to supervisor level, and they said I would have a credit provided. Received a reference number for the credit. The credit never arrived. After another 5 calls and promises to get back to me and rectify this, it never happened. It has been 4 months and still no credit. Time to get Fair Trading involved. The worst customer service I have ever experienced.

A superb customer experience, only partially let down by poor communication – I know that Westinghouse/Electrolux customer service reads these reviews, so let me say that I do have some criticism, which I will save for the end. Otherwise I could not be happier. We bought a Westinghouse WHE6874SA French door refrigerator about four and a half years ago. In retrospect it started acting up a year or more ago, and perhaps we… Read more

should have called customer service then: the temperature of the drawer started changing by itself, as though someone was pushing the buttons, and it would make a beeping sound.

Three weeks ago we came down to find that the front panel of the fridge was displaying nonsense symbols. After looking on the Internet I called customer service. It turns out that the $165 fixed price service calls offered by Westinghouse/Electrolux are actually $30 cheaper than their third party competitors. I wondered if those third party actually just take a commission for referring people to Westinghouse/Electrolux (from now on: W/E) but obviously I don't know. The W/E service department offered me a booking in a week's time, but after I explained what a problem living without a fridge would be she said she'd try to get an earlier one. I got a call from the local service department later: I would get a service call the next day! Both of these people were excellent.

The W/E service technician seemed as though he knew what he was doing and showed me the fridge's logic board with a big burned scar on it. He said he'd never seen anything like it; I was amazed myself because the surface-mounted components are itty-bitty. There's a photo below for those of you who like this stuff. He said that he'd have to order a replacement which would take a week. My reading of this was: the part could be freighted overnight but he was booked out for a week. That's not his fault, obviously.

The technician came a week later and replaced the board but the fridge still wasn't working. He speculated that the wiring harness might be faulty and advised me to speak to W/E, who might offer me a discount on a new fridge. I was dubious, but after giving him a chance to pass on a report I called them. I was pleasantly surprised: they offered me a choice of store credit or a substantial discount on a new fridge. The figure was apparently based on the 31 months the fridge was out of warranty: it came to a discount about 2/3 the cost of a new model. I accepted this, on the basis that proving a defect in the fridge would be difficult and expensive. Once again, the person I was talking to was lovely; that's three customer service people plus the technician so far.

Now comes the bad bit: I didn't get a call back regarding the replacement for a week, and grew increasingly worried. I called back myself and was put off with some excuse about a backlog, which I didn't like. Then a couple of days later I got a call about delivery of the replacement. I asked about payment and I have no idea why, but they advised me the fridge would be replaced at no cost. Maybe they were sorry for us living three weeks without a fridge; maybe after review they decided the fridge had been faulty as sold; maybe it was an error in our favour. In any case, we now have a new fridge - a later model, but one that seems otherwise pretty much identical to our old one - and I'm very pleased with it. The installer, once again, was very capable and very pleasant. I've never had such a consistent experience.

The criticisms, which I said I would keep for the end, are these: 1) W/E service technicians appear to be overcommitted. This is a false economy because even excellent customer service is unsatisfactory if it arrives late.

2) W/E advises customers to expect a technician on a particular day between 7:30 AM and 5 PM. They might as well not specify a time at all. It seems almost contemptuous, and they can do better.

3) W/E needs to communicate better with their customers. In the end I could not have had a better outcome, but my pleasure was diminished by the time it took and not knowing what was going on. I was seriously concerned that I wouldn't get any compensation at all.

But finally, as I said, they literally gave me a new fridge to replace my old one. I am very pleased and have no hesitation in recommending W/E to others.

Westinghouse dishwasher – Have to admit, our dishwasher will not die. It's been washing dishes every day and night for 8 years and is still going strong. It has a perfectly useful 30min cycle, unlike another dishwasher we had which required an hour and a half to complete the "fast" cycle. I purchased a Westinghouse oven and separate glass cooktop approximately five years ago and have been very disappointed with their durability and reliability. In addition, I have already had to pay to replace… Read more

the oven's electronic control board, which controls all of the oven's functions. Given the cost of these appliances, I expected them to last much longer and perform reliably. Having multiple glass failures and requiring repairs within just five years raises serious concerns about the quality and longevity of the products. Based on my experience, I do not feel these appliances have provided value for money and would not recommend them.

a year old and has stopped cooling and freezing overnight. The electricity to the fridge is intact and the basic troubleshooting as advised by Westinghouse customer service has been completed. All ten food, milk, cheese, yoghurt, meat and other things in the fridge are starting to smell, with the warm weather now in Melbourne. When it was agreed with Customer service that they will send someone over to fix my fridge, they stated that this is logged as emergency and someone will be calling us to fix an appt within the next 48 hours! Also, once we ended the call I received an email stating that attached is a soft copy of the manual as discussed. No, that is not what was discussed. And 48 hours is not a good enough turn around for this issue. Very disappointed and I don’t know who else I can call for support now. This is under warranty of course as well. They claim that they are very busy and hence cannot attend to this any sooner. I am not sure then what does emergency mean.

Very disappointed that Westinghouse does not have a slidout rangehood that can be rear ducted from the rangehood. Our last one which is 31 years old and still works but dated was ducted from the rear through the wall. We wanted to replace it with a new rangehood but not one of your products has rear ducting so we went elsewhere. I think it is a missed opportunity by Westinghouse not to have tear ducted products.

I had a Westinghouse 60 cm WVEP6716SD installed in April. I would strongly advise against buying that oven. The only function I have found to be satisfactory is the pyrolytic. It is ridiculous to have an oven in 2025/26 when you have to wait 30 minutes for it to reach heat. Moreover, it is quite misleading, because the panel shows it as having… Read more

reached the set temperature in 10 minutes. Even having waited for 30 minutes, the oven cooks unevenly. I know that most ovens have hot spots - but one, not several and seemingly random, like this one. The air fryer works, but not as well as a bench top model and the air fryer shelf is not satisfactory as the second oven rack: the bit in front of it gets in the road of sliding trays in an out and is a great trap for burning your fingers. (You can’t cook on multiple shelves as proposed in the manual if you only have two racks provided!) There also seems empirically to be a weird relationship between the cooking times for the top and bottom trays on fanbake. Maybe it has something to do with the drip tray under the air fryer, but whatever - biscuits on the bottom tray cook in a substantially different time from those on the top tray. Bluntly, it’s a fault of an oven if they don’t cook at roughly the same time!. The problem of unevenness was even worse roasting vegetables. They took twice the time and didn’t crisp. I would round this off by saying that I am an experienced cook and have used ten or so different ovens over my lifetime. A couple have had their own idiosyncracies, but this one is the worst overall.

Last 2 dishwashers were both Westinghouse & both lasted 6yrs before having significant problems forcing me to upgrade. fast had bits that broke on them, but it washed clean so I was happy. It really started leaking at almost 6yrs so along with the button selection being almost impossible I gave up on it. This time I went in to buy a Westinghouse & was told no don't buy it there now made by someone else & are really weak, but the recommended brand was over $100 more & I decided against it because the hygiene temp on that brand didn't get as hot, OMG I am regretting so badly not listening to that recommendation, this Westinghouse is SO WEAK I have to put on a FOUR HOUR cycle & STILL not clean like last time, I used to always use the cycle that was about 1hr now I'm stuck waiting & waiting & waiting for this half useless thing to weakly wash my dishes. Very disappointed in Westinghouse. I've loved this brand & recommended it for a long time for its super clean dish ability but now that's gone this will be my last Westinghouse. A 4hr cycle, any day now I need to do 2 cycles in a day that's 8 whopping hours I need to wait for... insane, that's truly insane. Not at all happy with this dishwasher v I LOVED my last one. Why destroy what you had?

We built a new home in 2023 and chose the Westinghouse WSF6608KXA dishwasher. Recently, our kitchen circuit breaker kept tripping. customer service, but since the warranty is only two years and the dishwasher is now about two and a half years old, I was told that I would have to pay a call-out fee for an inspection. More importantly, regardless of whether the issue is ultimately found to be with the dishwasher, I would be responsible for all inspection and repair costs.

I would not recommend this dishwasher. The quality is disappointing, as it failed after only two and a half years of normal use. The issue also appears to involve a potentially serious electrical fault, which raises safety concerns. If this happens after the warranty period, you may end up paying all costs yourself.

I bought Westinghouse Fridge 3 years ago because I was told this is a reliable brand, which is the biggest mistake I made. The Fridge's freezer function stopped working just 1 year out of warranty. Technician gave a labor and replacement part cost is over $1000 and needs to wait for 3 weeks for the part. She then stated it would be escalated and I received shortly thereafter a text message with the Escalation number of 159307. A week later the escalation is no more successful than the original response. As of 27th May, no contact from a service agentor Westinghouse. My experience has been some rhetoric from Westinghouse but zero action on this problem. The fridge comes with a 12 month warranty. Perhaps Westinghouse is simply waiting for it to expire ?
