Westinghouse Gas Cooker WFG612WCNG – I have had my cooker installed after the delays in production caused by COVID-19. As it is a replacement for my previous Westinghouse gas cooker, I am familiar with the features and cooking methods. It does a fine job all round. My concern is that the oven does not have an light to indicate when the oven has reached the desired temperature, which was a feature on the previous one I had. How could this be omitted from the design? It is such an essential feature. Also, the oven racks do not glide easily which becomes tricky when you are doing this with a hot oven. The oven temperature knob has too much "play" in it and this creates uncertainty as to whether the correct temp is being dialled. As there is electricity available, why not install a digital system for oven temperature control? I bought this cooker online due to COVID restrictions and in-store (lack of) availability. Had I looked at it in a showroom I may have considered an alternate product, given the price.

Great Oven – We have no complaints about this oven. The grill works well (though it is static and can't be moved up and down -what happened to that? It was so good when grill plates could be adjusted but you can take inserts out to make it lower if needed) anyway we cook meat/toast - so much under the grill - its great. The oven fan is quiet which is great because our old oven had a fan that rattled around like you wouldn't believe - it sounded like a helicopter trying to take off with one blade. The oven cooks fairly evenly. The handles, knobs etc feel really solid. It's quite easy to clean being fairly flat on top, no difficult ridges to get into. I would recommend this oven - absolutely. I spoke to our local gas company who told me that they get called out to repair the super expensive ovens just as much as the less expensive so why open $5000 when you can buy this one for $2000. Also I like that its an Australian company so if it does need repairs the parts are readily available.

Just had it installed seems to work Ok – Just had the WFG612SCNG version of this series installed , chose this because of power supply issues as needed a 10 AMP system , the oven looks good , and all burners work very well and ignite when needed by the electronic ignition system and cooks very well , the only thing that does not work is the oven timer that only goes tick , tick for the allotted time then abruptly stops with no sound , just pointless , there are also some minor scratches on the inside glass of the oven door that are visible with the light on but not when turned off .The overall build quality is only just fair as it is a very tinny and flimsy ,there is only foil insulation on the bottom underneath of the oven compartment which lacks a solid floor as do many other makes , the oven compartment also lacks separate independent rack holders , the current design while easier to clean will almost certainly result in the wall enamel being worn down to the metal within a few years of regular use, for value for money , at this price point , for what it is and quality , and how long its built to last for it isn't cheap .
