Oven is dangerous – The oven is dangerous the sides have expanded because oven gets extremely hot, the knobs get really hot, the grill handle is dangerous to touch when oven is in use. I had technician come out and used the heat gun, well guess what the knobs went over 60c and the grill handle went to 120c, how dangerous is that on our fingers and hands. How on earth… Read more

Do not buy totally not user friendly and chep construction – I had a similar Westinghouse stove for the last 8 years and was happy with it until the oven would not stay alight. I replaced it with this model, problems with this stove 1. Compared to my previous stove the metal is much thinner and less robust 2. If you have large saucepans the larger burners are at the back so with the back panel they do not… Read more

fit, also the flame adjustment is not good. 3. The smaller burner is at the front which I dont like I preffered it at the back, goes out all the time because the flame adjustment is not good. 4. There is a burner for a wok at the front, which when you put a normal pan on it is not steady. 5. The grill is cheap and does not slide in smoothly 6. To get the racks in and out of the oven is near impossible and when you do it chips the enamel and compared to my previous stove is cheap and nasty. The only thing I like about this stove is that it is fan forced which I did not have previously. I I wish I never purchased this stove and will never buy another Westinghouse product, not a happy customer.

Impossible to use – When oven is on eg for more than half an hour if you wish to use top burners beware. Use protection when turning knobs on as you WILL burn yourself. I have had several blisters on my fingers. I am so annoyed as this means most vegies sauces etc have to be done prior to the oven cook. The oven also gets really hot so a potmit is needed to open… Read more

it. Very upset as my 20 year Chef was so good was just getting old. Do not buy this stove if you have young children it is dangerous.

Poor design disaapointed – I had to get this oven as I needed LPG and the size, also I got it because built in SA. I thought it would be the same as my previous one as it looked similar on line. They have redesigned the top part and it is a pain in the butt. They have put the small simmer burner at the right front and two medium burners at the back, the problem is that the… Read more

new extended part at the very back of the oven, where the heat comes out, now comes out in a funny shape so when you put large/medium pans on the back burners they don't sit in the middle of the burner as the part that stick out means they cant sit dead in the middle, it stops them. The smaller burner at the back is better at the back out of the way for simmer items. I cant use the extra large burner for medium pots as it burns up the side. All in all very disappointed with the design and nothing I can do. I have to say the oven part is good and the overall look of the oven is good, just whoever designed the top part with the burners got it all wrong. I just wish they would ask us housewives. Oh well have to put up with it now for how ever long it lasts.

Disaster - hasnt operated properly since day one – Since the day of purchase nothing seems to of gone right with this oven. Exterior has always been too hot, you need on occations to use a towel or oven mits to turn the knobs off after use. The ignitor decides when it wants to ignite the gas flame. Now the oven knob won't turn off so we have had to turn the gas off at the mains.  Show details

Exterior extremely hot – The exterior is way too hot for the normal, reasonable person. Its ridiculous. We want a replacement. The burners are too hard to light. The knobs are very very hot to the extent we use a handtowel to turn off. Its so hot it heats up our little kitchen. Please explain, how can we get a refund or different cooker. Extremely dissatisfied.  Show details

Happy – This oven is great. I have needed a new oven & this Westinghouse oven has far superseded my expectations. I love the double burner for big pots or pans, I have found this burner to be excellent for frying as it keeps the base of the pan the same temperature all round. It has also got a great oven. My roasts & cakes now work. Thanks for such a great oven at a price I can afford.  Show details

Worst stove/appliance I have very purchased and hopless trying to deal with supplier – The worst appliance I have ever bought. Seems there has been an issue with over heating of appliance and nothing has been done to correct the issue for several years. Mine was tested and deemed to be too hot to use and 'not fit for purpose' - replace with another stove with same results. DO NOT buy a Wesinghouse stove of any description; they all have the same issue and are DANGEROUS  Show details

Dangerously Hot Exterior – Used this brand new gas oven for the first time last week after waiting for electrician to install power point for the fan. The outer casing and knobs get dangerously hot - wife burnt her fingers. Electrolux technician measured knob temp at 84-125C, side casing 85-90C and top splashback 100C. and stated that the design of the unit caused these… Read more

excessive temperatures. The CHEF version of this unit has the same problem as evidenced by the reviews of the CFG517WA. Hoping that Electrolux will agree to refund on this brand new oven.

Disappointment with the enamel finish – Poor enamel finish. Has multiple chips within a few months of purchase. It replaced an older model which had no marks on the enamel. I want to replace it but would not have another enamel finish. I would like to replace it with a new model, probably stainless steel instead.
