So picked this machine, to replace our previous Westinghouse dishwasher. Controls are very touchy, funny enough our front panel has started to peel the grey off the plastic in multiple places for some reason. Not sure why. Apparently it’s suppose to Buzz when finished the wash cycle but doesn’t. Show details

Overall, it works well but has a few quirks worth considering – The dishwasher performs well and has ample space for larger loads. While it looks sleek, there are a few things to consider. One issue is the condensation left on dishes after a cycle; this can be managed by using the 'extra drying' setting, which helps avoid the need for rinse aid (something I don’t see the point in buying). Installation was… Read more

problematic, and I discovered the hard way that a leak could result from the hose being pinned at the back—thanks to Sydney Appliances for that oversight. If you experience leaks, check your hose positioning. The top rack's layout is less user-friendly; glasses and cups need precise positioning to get properly cleaned. On the other hand, the bottom rack is more efficient and well-designed for easy loading.

Terrible product – After six months of use the upper spray arm began detaching itself during wash cycles. Unable to get parts to repair and Westinghouse seem unwilling to assist in getting this sorted out. Update. I elected to start mediation through this review site, and Westinghouse did get in touch with me and promised to sort it out, however they went radio… Read more

silent after a week.

The retailer was advised that parts would arrive (one month after ordering) however they never did and has now had to strip parts out of a display model dishwasher in order to repair ours.

I would advise anyone in NZ considering purchasing this brand of appliance to think very carefully before they do; probably check with your local service agents as to their experiences getting parts. I personally believe this company and anyone selling this product in this country is in breach of the NZ Consumer Gaurantees Act by not being able to provide repairs in a timely manner. One month is not good enough just to get parts for seven month old dishwasher.

As for the Electrolux service experience, if I could rate that lower than 1 star I would. Good luck ever getting them to follow up emails or phone calls when you do have a problem. There are many other manufacturers I would recommend ahead of these guys. In hindsight we should never have purchased this brand.

Waste of money, my 4 year old washes better – Worst dishwasher I have ever owned. Noisy, didn’t clean, filter was insufficient and so spray area were blocked with food particles, f1 and f2 errors, leaks damaging my floorboards and due to where I live, was impossible to get a repairer to attend while under warranty. Got a new Bosch and literally cried. Have been putting up with this for 4 years. Issues started within 6 months but could never get anyone to look at it. Show details

Does what it should – I always read reviews before purchasing big ticket items like this, and they left me somewhat hesitant. We desperately needed a new dishwasher though after moving to a new house with and old one that did not clean dishes and started leaking. Due to having a Westinghouse dishwasher for 8 years in our old house that is still going strong, I decided… Read more

to purchase another westinghouse.

Internally, this one is almost the carbon copy of our old one. It has changed from hinged doors/twist cap for detergent and rinse aid (respectively) to sliding ones. It's nice and roomy- easy to fit a full day's worth of dishes.

The control panel is easy to use and has a sufficient amount of features and settings including a time delay and child lock. I do worry that the grey paint will wear off like it was doing on our previous dishwasher.

We had an issue with the inlet hose initially, it seemed the internal rubber shifted and it ended up leaking and flooding our kitchen cabinet and floor, possibly causing unseen water damage under our cabinetry.

My only other qualm is the cutlery baskets - they don't fit larger items of utensils.

Overall, cleans well, functions like it should and is nice and quiet. Just beware proper fitment of the hose.

Terrible dishwasher – If there was 1/2 a star I would give that. No space in between shelves, nothing dries, wine glasses fall over and break in the top section. Not nice to pack, the worst I have ever used. For a product that you use every single day you will be extremely disappointed. Show details

Not a good dishwasher, broke after 2.5 years – Not my choice, we bought a developer special house and of course it's filled with cheap appliances and yes particular brand this is one of the many cheap junk in the house. Dishwasher looks great, however that's probably the only positive. Doesn't wash very well, doesn't have a cutlery tray, doesn't dry very well, etc. And best part, 2.5… Read more

years into use (on average wash once a day, if not every 2nd) and it's dead. Threw an F5 error.

Sure, tried to replace the solenoid valve inlet hose ($155 later) no dice, still broken. Pulled apart the unit and noticed the diverter valve is leaking and most likely the diverter valve itself is seized hence it's unable to diverter the pump from wash to drain. I took it apart to see if there was any foreign objects jammed inside, but nope, just looks like a poorly designed stepper motor jammed inside a fragile plastic housing.

Funny part too, whoever put on the hose clamps at the Westinghouse factory totally missed most of hose barb/beads. Pretty much pointless even having a hose clamp there!

Where's your QC? Come on guys, can't be that hard.

Anyhow, will replace that, if that fails, I'm going to buy a Bosch dishwasher and enjoy a dishwasher that actually clean dishes well and won't break after 2.5 years.

Like I said, I would never buy these brand, just happened to come with our developer special (jam in cheap appliance) house.

The best dishwasher I've had – It's my 6th dishwasher and absolutely the best. Fantastic spacing to take 15 place settings. Just a very good design to utilise space. It washes so clean in a very small time. I love it. The stainless steel finish is top quality and sooo easy to clean. My previous (different brand) stainless steel dishwasher smeared so much it took so long to clean to a nice finish. Show details

Pointless extra settings, doesnt fit full size dinner plates – This machine washes 'ok' but really requires the max 2hr35m setting to be sure of cleanliness. The additional settings for extra rinse, dry etc don't seem to work at all - i.e. extra dry literally doesn't do anything more than normal setting, just takes longer. Most disappointingly and a serious flaw is the lower rack doesn't take regular size… Read more

dinner plates without the wash spinner element hitting the plate edges. Have to lay them down on a steep angle which both severely reduces the load size and I suspect adds to the poor washing outcomes described above.

Is ok – The programs and cycles are ok but the lower basket is just flimsy every time I place the dishes say only flat plates in one side the basket gets out of tail and is hard to place back in as it is heavy to move with the load to me is a no no but if you’re in s budget maybe Show details

Does the job well but -- – This dishwasher is a replacement from Westinghouse as our last one failed after two years and could not be repaired. To their credit it was supplied quickly and without question direct from Westinghouse, after waiting three weeks for the useless "The Good Guys Concierge" to do something. It does the job well but there's a couple of annoying… Read more

things that were not present on the last model. The control buttons are far too sensitive and we are constantly turning the machine on by mistake just by brushing against it. The front of lower basket falls heavily down off the rails when pulling it out, this can easily lead to breakages.

Not worth it – 3.5 years and the motor inside has rusted. It’s not worth the price. The changing of the price costs $150 plus the call out fee of $300 (two call outs). That’s $450. Better off buying another brand.  Show details

Leaking dishwasher and unsatisfactory customer service – We bought this dishwasher because of all the good reviews about this product online. After we had used the dishwasher for a about month, we discovered that there was water dropping down from the front door. There was also steam coming out from the door creating condensation under the bench top which created more water drops falling onto the wooden… Read more

floor.

Our kitchen is newly-renovated and the floorboards are completely new. Seeing the water leaking into the new floorboards has made me devastated.

I reported the problems to Electrolux the next morning. They sent someone to look at our dishwasher and then offered me a replacement. I initially refused the replacement and requested a refund instead because of my concerns of the quality of their products. To my surprise, they refused to offer me a refund.

I eventually accepted the replacement. After waiting for a month, we have still not received the replacement or been contacted by Electrolux as to when they will arrange someone to replace the dishwasher. I have followed up with Electrolux on numerous occasions. The response I have been given is that I am on a priority queue and will be contacted by Electrolux soon. Now, I don't even know what "priority" means after a month of waiting. Each time that I called, they told me that Electrolux would contact me next week or something. Still, no one has contacted me up to this point. It is very frustrating that we have had no dishwasher to use for more than a month. Their customer service is totally unsatisfactory and certainly needs improvement.

Good addition to the kitchen! – The stainless steel look compliments the kitchen. It cleans the dishes well and is good size for a small family. I have had this for 2 months now and use it daily. There are various cycle options including quick wash but the quick wash results are not great. It is not as quiet as I would have liked it to be. Overall, it does the job. Show details
