Dreadfully unreliable dishwasher. Was delivered with mis-aligned button panel rendering it inoperable. They fixed this under warranty. Failed again after 4 years, service claims it needs both drain hose and inlet hose replaced (my plumber had previously assessed it and said only drain hose was the issue). Service quotes repair costs of around 50%… Read more
of machine value and refuses to install it (i.e. plug it back in and put the hose back) after repairs claiming that is a separate service. I would never buy a product from this brand again. Both the build quality of their product and support provided has been miserable. Machine will now sadly go into land fill as I will replace with another brand.
My dishwasher just died 2 days ago after 4.5yrs. Should last up to 10yrs. Just keeps tripping at the main power board . Will be asking for a refund , replacement or repair . Under consumer law we have a consumer guarantee that product should be of “acceptable quality” and last for a reasonable time for this product. Hasn’t done either of above so will be asking for a refund. Not happy with Westinghouse quality now. Show details
I bought this in 2017 for a renovation but because of personal circumstances and then Covid, our renovation was not happening. It was stored indoors unopened. December 2024 the renovation happened. After three weeks the paint started to peel off the top panel and chips along the edge also appeared. It washed well but as far as drying is… Read more
concerned, the dishes and glasses are very wet when the cycle finishes even with the extra dry option. It is a bit better when I add rinse aid but I am using all in one tablets and have never had to do this before. Contacted customer service and was just told to go to my installer and get it repainted but they couldn't help me with that. No contact for someone who can do it, no accountability. I wanted to support an Australian company but think I'll go back to European.

Westinghouse Dishwasher Dark SS quiet cleans drys to perfection – Westinghouse Dishwasher dark stainless steel, looks great. I purchased factory 2nd with warranty & so far found nothing wrong with it. Very quiet. Perfect - Cleans shines & dries. Plenty of room for plates, pots, fits high ball tall glasses. Adjustable heights for baskets. Numerous Programs easy to use once you read the instructions, some of the… Read more
options are half wash upper or lower, pre-wash, eco, Sensor wash - standard day wash, delicates, heavy. You can add on Extra dry, extra rinse. hygiene wash, tablet. Temperature 30-40, 50, 60 & 65 degrees. Timer delay start. If you stop it will restart where wash stopped or you can reset it for another wash cycle program. Cutlery tray draw is good fits all my cutlery, but I kept my old cutlery basket to use but have not required it yet. Good water & energy rating. Photo below is after a 50-60 fast wash with extra dry, extra rinse took about 1 hour but many shorter wash & dry cycle options, exist. When you set each option it shows you how long wash cycle will be & as it goes through each cycle indicates if it’s washing, rinsing, drying or completed & auto - Turns off. My tip remove or rinse bulk of leftovers before stacking dishwasher. Higher temperatures creates more steam which helps dry plates. Dishwashers will not completely dry plastics, so a few drips of water may remain on plastics.
Lucky Choice – We bought this dishwasher two years ago in the middle of the pandemic so didn't have a lot of choice; we bought a Westinghouse fridge on the same day (separate review) and this matched the finish. The dishwasher has performed flawlessly although we don't put heavily soiled stuff in it, and only use the 50 minute cycle (which is shorter than many… Read more
other dishwashers seem to have). It washes very well but doesn't dry as well as a few that have a fan for the purpose. The dishes are left hot though, so if you mop up any water in the top of the cups and leave the door ajar they dry very well. Controls are easy and intuitive; you can find the cycle you want and start the machine without turning the kitchen light on! This model has a third rack for cutlery which seems like a bit of a waste as it holds a lot more cutlery than would go with the crockery downstairs and restricts the height of the adjustable middle rack, which may not be so good if you use glassware with stems. One quibble is that the control panel is plastic and painted to match the dark stainless steel covering most of the door. After two years the paint is wearing off on the upper corners of the door and above the handle. Maybe Westinghouse sell touch-up paint.
Top shelf limits plate size – I like the cutlery shelf however it means you lose quite a lot of room for your lower shelves. You can adjust the middle shelf so it's higher for your dinner plates to fit underneath, however this means you cannot put tall glasses in there. So it's a compromise either way. Think I'd prefer a cutlery basket on the bottom shelf and to fit tall glasses AND dinner plates in. I Show details
Westinghouse dishwasher – First Westinghouse product I have purchased cost me almost $900 and only had this dishwasher for less than 3 years and the moter has burnt out already. The top of the dishwasher also has faded could be due to the heat.

A dishwashing machine that will not last – Purchased this Dishwasher from Bing Lee in 2019 with an extended warranty (from 2 to 5 year). After 5 years and 6 months of regular household use the dishwasher has failed miserably and no longer works. As other users have highlighted it appears that there is a common fault with this dishwasher . It is on a dedicated electrical circuit/switch… Read more
which now keeps tripping. It no longer turns on and doesn't even generate an error code. The dishwasher was good when it worked but alas, they don't build appliances like they used to anymore and its unfortunate that we are becoming a throw-away society.
I now have to either call a repair man and pay $165-200 call out fee + pay for any additional parts used in the repair OR buy a new entire dishwasher.
I will likely opt for a new machine as there is no guarantee that if the repair person does fix the problem something else won't break.
For others considering buying a Westinghouse appliance, carefully examine your warranty duration!
Amazing washing, poor stacking – If you have read my previous reviews on the LG QuadWash XD3A15NS and the Stirling STR-DWSS12, you'll see that I have had a pretty rough ride with dishwashers over the past few years. Both of the aforementioned Dishwashers were utterly useless and not fit for purpose. But moving on, this time I went for a medium priced dishwasher, as opposed to the… Read more
overpriced LG and very cheap Stirling.
I've owned the Westinghouse for over a month now and overall, it beats the last two dishwashers hands down. Its washing and drying cannot be faulted. Seriously, I would give it 11 out of 10 for washing and drying. There are a couple of things though, that have me scratching my head and its clear that whoever designed the shelving has never used a Dishwasher before.
In the User Manual that comes with machine, pages 16 through to 19 show some wonderful diagrams, which suggest the best way to stack your dishes. Now I am not sure where Westinghouse get their dinner plates, but in stark contrast to their diagrams, my experience is that standard dinner plates do not stand up on the lower shelf unless you raise the top shelf.
OK, "so raise the top shelf then you muppet" I hear you say. Yes, well raising the top shelf renders the top shelf, pretty much useless. Just to rub salt in the wounds, there are only 2 positions on the top shelf;
1. Too low 2. Too high.
A third setting in the middle would probably fix the issue, unless you are using Westinghouse's elf sized dinner plates. Small plates are all you can squeeze below, if you want to use the upper shelf.
Another issue with the upper shelf, is even in the low position, wine glasses are a problem. As I mentioned, in the high position, I don't really know what you would put on the top shelf.
The WSF6608 boasts that it has 15 place settings, but I think those 15 places may refer to spoons, as there doesn't seem to much space inside the machine at all. I have large dinner plates which simply won't fit at all, so I use my standard dinner plates, which only fit if I lean them significantly. In this configuration, 4 plates takes up most of the bottom shelf.
What is frustrating is that there is the same amount of space available in the WSF6608 as there was in the 12 place setting Stirling machine from Aldi. Yet the Aldi accommodated way more dishes than the Westinghouse does.
The build quality is better than the Stirling of course, but not as good as I would have expected. It is still very flimsy and felt quite wobbly when I slid it under my kitchen bench.
I like the various cleaning modes on the Westinghouse, though do wish I didn't have to hit the options button 6 times for additional drying and then save the setting every time I use the dishwasher.
Its saving grace is that it washes exceptionally well, much like the Dishlex dishwashers in the good old days (remember them)? So far the Westinghouse hasn't faulted either and I am quietly confident that it will remain reliable.
If you don't drink wine and eat out of bowls, then you will love this machine. But if you enjoy a glass of wine and meals off of dinner plates, you may want to check yours fit before buying.
It's okay – This replaced a Westinghouse WDF901, which failed due to the water heater packing up. First impressions were that, for the top Westinghouse model, it didn't have the internal light, bottom rack had a mind of its own, top rack didn't run as nicely on its track and the cutlery tray was also a bit wobbly. The cutlery tray is a bit of a disaster… Read more
zone as knives don't fit in "blades inwards" as the handles don't fit in those little gaps and if you put them in "blades outwards" they can sometimes slide backwards and drop through those big gaps in the middle of the tray.
After use I found that the soap dispenser door was stiff and would sometimes not open fully (replaced under warranty). It's a bit noisier than my old one, has some mysterious clunks inside as it rinses (I've check there's no wobbling dishes) and some other ghostly noises when going about its business. I had some mysterious errors on the daily cycle for a while and when turning the unit on it very very infrequently thinks it needs to disregard the start button and start on the default cycle without being told to.
The basic function - washing - works as expected. Things I put in there are already well scraped and I pretty much clean egg off things if it's on anything. I haven't noticed much difference with the drying function - things which retain heat will always dry themselves pretty well, it's plastic stuff which is always a bit hit-and-miss and I've not noticed the fan really do much with plastic dishes drying any better.
The buttons are different on these new generation machines and require a much lighter touch. Some other people in my household have "butt dialled" the power button a few times.
Overall it's an okay machine. I would not have liked to pay full rrp for it and I'm surprised that some of the good things with my old machine aren't on this new one (the light for example). If the drawers and the cutlery tray were like, say, the current Asko models, this Westinghouse would be a sensation.

It's good but not great – It's taken me 6 months to write this review, hoping I could 'warm' to this dishwasher... We updated our kitchen and chose Westinghouse for our gas cooktop, dishwasher & Australian made oven. The oven & the gas cooktop are fantastic and couldn't be happier. I was hoping the same for the dishwasher. It's dark stainless steel and the plastic top… Read more
strip has already worn around the edges. It has various washing cycles where some are better than others. I have programmed the 50 min / 65 degree setting and find it to work the best.
The good points: Looks good (except for the worn plastic edges) Quiet Various settings (and you can program a favourite setting) Adjustable glass rack You can clip down some of the racking to allow for pots & pans etc..
The not so good points: It's not flimsy but it's not solid either When you adjust the glass rack for taller glasses you can't fit dinner plates & visa versa. It has a cutlery tray that is too shallow and already some of the plastic 'teeth' are broken (I miss the good old cutlery basket)
This isn't a bad dishwasher & on the surface it looks great, but it just isn't as solid as our previous dishwasher. Our last dishwasher lasted nearly 15 years. I think this will be replaced in about 5 years which is probably about the average for most appliances these days. Planned obsolescence as they say....
Thanks for reading my review
Good dishwasher, with just one negative aspect – We've always bought Westinghouse dishwashers and found them to be good value, easy to use and and washed our dishes efficiently. This new one is good as well except for one thing: the ridges in the cutlery tray at the top of the dishwasher are much too narrow for all except the most skinny of table knives. This means you have to find a spot to lay… Read more
the knives flat on the tray, underneath or in between other cutlery. They won't be getting washed on both sides evenly, I think. Forks, spoons etc. go in fine but I would have preferred the cutlery basket like the earlier models.
Customer Care Team followed up well – My WSF6608X Dishwasher had an issue with "H01" and "50" (how long the chosen "Time Save" cycle needs) flashing alternately on the Display Board. I used the mediation process via this website and was contacted by the Customer Care team within the same day. The lady has given me other instructions and bingo! I could get my machine working again. I'm thankful for her help.
The dishwasher has served our big household very well. The rack configuration is flexible. With rinse aid the dishes are washed n dried very well. I love cooking and entertaining and the Time Save (50 mins) program has worked so well that I can easily put a load of dishes on and have it done with before desserts are served. I can even fit my Weber BBQ plate in it and have it washed well. With better after sales care, I would be happy to stick with Westinghouse should I need to replace the machine.

Avoid this brand at all costs – I have signed up for product review just to write this. For $800 dollars you’d expect the thing to last you at least 2 years of use. This machine lasted us not even 3 months out of the box. It just didn’t work one morning and kept making a humming sound from the motor as if it were working but none of the buttons were on. On top of that it didn’t… Read more

Door issues on Westinghouse WSF6608XA – My dishwasher is 8 months old. I have already had to have the water inlet replaced. Now the door will not close. Any suggestions as to what the cause could be, and could it be something that I could replace myself as we live remotely.
Silly drawer configuration – Pros - quiet, quick when needed and lots of different options for was cycles Cons - Cannot stand the cutlery draw - knives don't fit in the spaces provided so need to go in the middle and then can fall through. There are 2 height settings for the middle draw which seems like a great idea but at the lower setting, plates do not fit in the bottom… Read more

Tripping house RCD; terrible racking layout; do not recommend – Bought a new house with this useless dishwasher. It's now causing RCD trips so will be going to landfill. Worst buy – Opened dishwasher straight out of box and inside had a bad odour. Outside looks ok however inside looks very cheaply made. Cutlery draw has oddly cut plastic circles which are sharp to touch. Sliding out the racks feels awkward not smooth at all. Not impressed at all. Very disappointed in the life of this product – I purchased this dishwasher in 2017. Yesterday it began tripping the circuit board. When I rang to get a service I was told it was most likely a manufacturing problem. I asked would I be compensated if that was the case and was told no as it was no longer in warranty. I believe you should get more than 5 years out of a product. I won't be buying Westinghouse again. Show details

These things are an absolute lemon - avoid buying old stock/second hand! – (From Electronics Technician who works on commercial grade equipment) I have been given one of these to fix from friends who purchased one as new old stock but with no warranty, it worked for about 5 months and then developed an F5 error. I found the water inlet valve was open circuit (faulty) so replaced that but no go, traced the fault back to… Read more
an AC control chip on the lower mainboard, an ACS1026T to be precise, replaced it, water inlet now works but keeps filling and emptying, then shows F5 again? Found there is a sensor in the divertor module that uses a cheap no-name microswitch, this detects when there is water pressure being produced by the pump and shuts off the inlet, the microswitch was jammed shut, possibly from being burnned out. Replaced the whole diverter assembly as a microswitch of the right type is almost the same price, and now it runs for about 2 minutes and starts making electrical noises and the pump goes to stall and stops pumping water at pressure, so far out, now looks like a failing pump drawing too much current - which possibly contributed to the previous issues as the microswitches switch AC. In case you were curious, certain internals is branded VESTEL and sure enough, its a rebranded cheap russian designed machine made in Turkey. The internal components are El CHEAPO - Im talking comparable to the cheapest brands on the market. Im sure previous Westinghouse branded machines were fine, but this really is a poor effort. I hope Westinghouse has learnned from this lemon of a machine and learned from the amount of units gone faulty during warranty period with similar issues that I have seen with google searches, fortunately I noted they have been taken off the market. Its a shame the quality left when Westinghouse shutdown their western factories, where engineers and workers took pride in their work, instead of just buying a cheap off the shelf from another manufacturer. - Just my opinion. Sorry Westinghouse, just keeping you honest.
Will never buy Westinghouse products again – Bought a Westinghouse WSF6608KXA for a kitchen renovation. The unit broke only after 4 months of light use. Keep on overloading the circuit breaker. Frustrating to use – The quality of this machine is below expectation. The lower tray runs off the track every single time and we have to lift it back on with a tray full of dishes, pots and pans. Doesn’t fit standard dinner plates, very disappointed – Doesn’t fit standard size dinner plates, if adjust the top shelf to be higher to fit plates, top shelf doesn’t fit glasses.
