Works fine on longest, hottest setting – My machine works perfectly when using a program that heats water to 70deg but using programs that only heat water to 60deg leads to problems, particularly the fault 20. At a guess I would say that the tablets plastic coating does not fully melt at the lower temperature leading to partial blockages. Show details

Not Happy – This dishwasher was installed as part of a kitchen package in a new house. It Blocks easily and has frequent error messages, goes through rinse aid very quickly. Last month stopped heating water on Normal, Heavy and Sensor Cycle. Used local technician to fix who replaced powerboard. Still doesn’t heat $380 and three call outs later. Now tells me… Read more

Now up to Electrolux's service – Purchased in June 2015 - has now stopped working with error code 20. Out of warranty but have contacted Electrolux - will come back and rerate depending on their response. If the response is too bad, plan to raise with Fair Trading. Update: Ended up replacing it for a Bosch - no more Westinghouse for me.... Show details

Perfect, low energy use, low water use, reliable workhorse of the kitchen – Bought dishwasher in 2015 and has worked perfectly, only had one error message in last three years which was fixed by the local technician easily. Cleans dishes easily with the 30 minute cycle, top drawer is good for plastic cups. Would recommend this dishwasher to others. Low energy and water use was a plus when we purchased it.  Show details

Really good till this week! – My Westinghouse dishwasher has also failed after 3.5 years of good service. I purchased it after a Choice recommendation. The fault code i20 appears and the dishwasher doesn't drain. Its been checked for any obvious blockages but there are none. I have contacted Electrolux Customer Care about it and will report on their response. Update - Had… Read more

dishwasher repaired. There was a blockage of fat after all. Repairer recommended using the 'sensor' setting rather than the 'eco' setting. Apparently the water is not hot enough to melt fat with the latter setting. Also suggested use of the descaler cleaning powder once in a while.

Better than hand washing anyday – This is the first time Ive had a dishwasher, I paid a little more for it, but it hasnt missed a beat, since I purchased it. It is super quiet & never had a problem with it. The only time it doesnt dry is when I havent put enough rinsing aid into it  Show details

Disappointed - Worked OK for three years - same fault as other reviewers – We bought this dishwasher on the strength of the Choice review - as many others have done. Its performance is fairly good, although it doesn't dry very well on some settings. However, we are sorely disappointed: after three years it developed the same fault as many others reported here. It stops multiple times during a cycle and flashes error… Read more

message .20, meaning the water is not draining. This is not the case, and you can get it to start again by pressing the Program button, but two minutes later it happens again. The problem started occasionally a year ago and by now the dishwasher is virtually unusable. Really annoyed with Choice and with the manufacturer about this. Our previous dishwasher lasted nearly 20 years!

Worst dishwasher ! Buy a Bosch – Broke down 3 times under warranty I got it fixed each time ! (Very inconvenient ) Then just as the technician said you will see me again ! He was right we are now going to throw it out after 2.5 years and get a Bosch. We didn’t choose this machine it was in our new build house package !!  Show details

Stopped working just when it has passed warranty period – This is my first Westinghouse dishwasher. It has stopped heating a few days after warranty period. Technician came and confirmed that motor needed replacement. After one week, motor was replaced and still got the same problem. Now I am STILL waiting for someone to confirm when this problem can be solved. It is so disappointing that this… Read more

after 3 years, it doesn't work properly – does not dry. quite loud. Towards the end of cycle, i40 sign blinks and stops working. In addition, other strange warning sign which is not mentioned in the manual, keeps appearing. The troule shooting section in the manual is quite usesless. Just three years using and causing lots of problems already.  Show details

Westinghouse dishwasher model WSU6603XR performance with the outlet blocked indicator 0.20 after 24 – Reasonable performance but quite loud. Blockage indicator 0.20 stopped program. Outlet pipe and spigot checked no blockage so mother board needs replacing to cost over $200 plus $110 call out. Estimated usage over 24 months 230 cycles ie one every 3-4 days Regularly cleaned filter and rough cleaned all items before wash. Will not buy this brand again as this is a common reported problem  Show details

Faulty product -very poor service – I purchased the Westinghouse dishwasher from appliances online and the common story occurred - just after 2 year warranty expiry, intermittently stopped working - error message .20. Rang Westinghouse who sent a service person who thought it might be the pump. He returned with a new pump but as it was clear the machine still worked… Read more

(intermittently) decided not to install it - just charge the fee (for nothing). 6 months later my plumber put me onto this site where it is clear I have the motherboard problem - which obviously is a well known product defect. I called Westinghouse again and they will not engage in any conversation on this. Want me to pay another call out fee plus parts. I also bought this due to a Choice magazine recommendation. So disappointed.

Stopped working after 22 months – Seemed like a good machine... I researched on Choice which gave it a good write up But began experiencing problems about 3 weeks ago - stopped mid cycle with the ".20" error. I've written to Electrolux so we'll see what happens but I'm not impressed that a relatively expensive machine can't even do 2 years.  Show details

Basic dishwasher with one big problem – Update. Have tried all wash cycles and a number of dishwashing tabs. And have reached the conclusion _ this machine doesn't make the cut. Tired of wiping everything dry. May as well do a manual wash and save the time and power. I bought this machine 2 yrs ago but only installed it 18 months ago after my kitchen reno was finished. I am in a… Read more

single person household so there are no large loads and very very rarely is there anything particularly greasy or baked on to be washed.

The machine cleans most dishes reasonably well but it isn't great on any pots especially if they have been used to cook sauces or rice. Glassware and China come out nice and clean. I like that you can collapse the bottom racks to allow space for larger objects when needed.

Unfortunately it doesn't dry properly. The options for washing cycles are very limited - from the fast 30 min to the normal, heavy and sensor. The fast 30 min one is pretty hopeless - it's not much more than a good rinse. Having said that, the other cycles wash ok (but they take a long time) but no matter which cycle you use, everything is still wet at the end. I can count the number of times on one hand that the load was dried but on each occasion, everything was covered with big water spots. I have tried the various Finish products - Quantum and Powerball tabs as well as Fairy brand, together with rinse aid, but it makes no difference. Very disappointed with this aspect.

Like another reviewer, I often wash at night for the cheaper electricity rate but do find the dishwasher is very noisy when it changes the functions during a wash cycle. My previous dishwasher was an Asko and although it was significantly more expensive, I think it was worth it compared to this machine.

Great until it stops working after 2.5 years. Westinghouse WSU6603XR – As with a lot of others on here, mine stopped working after 2.5 years (2 year warranty - sigh) - PCB and wash pump appear to have failed. The dishwasher had been excellent up until this point. I also have a Westinghouse fridge that been going rock solid for 6 years, so was surprised to have the dishwasher fail so early. Electronic board – This dishwasher doesnt last at all. At a span of 6 years i got 2 dishwasher. Both have issues with electronic board. I dont know where to buy this board. My service man still looking to purchase this board. I should have added extra money and bought a different brand..

Was wonderful for 2 1/2 years - now does not dry – This was a great dishwasher when we bought it. About two months ago it stopped drying, leaving the dishes very wet, even if you leave the dishes in all night. The dishwasher looks great, washes well, but based on a bunch of reviews, dies after 2-3 years. Unfortunately the warranty is 2 years - although in Australia there may be additional protection above the commercial warranty.

Yet another failing at the 3 year mark – Our dishwasher was purchased 3 years ago and until this week I would have rated it highly. However it now stops with error .20, supposedly indicates it's not draining. Water is draining out perfectly and filters/pump/spigot are clear. Therefore it looks more like an electronics problem - apparently a common issue for this model.

Worked well until electronics died after 2 years – I have always rated Westinghouse highly having purchased a series of their fridges and freezes over several decades. For 2 years it was a perfect score for this dishwasher: cleaned well, quiet operation, handled large loads and easy to maintain. After 2 years it now fails to complete a cycle (error 20). Hoses, spigot and filter are clean and well maintained. I am very disappointed.

Controller problem (I think) – After paying over $1000 for my stainless steel dishwasher WSU6603 which I have had just over 2 yrs it no longer works and breaks down on CHRISTMAS EVE-not HAPPY. Flood Message 30 Flashes – We have a stainless steel Westinghouse Dishwasher WSU6603, and after 2.5 years, it started flashing the 30 symbol indicating, which is the anti-flood warning. The pump still kept running, even when I switched the device off, so I had to switch it off at the power point.

Generally a good dishwasher, but it just stopped working – We've had this machine for maybe 3-4 years now (can't remember exactly). It's been great other than plastics on the top shelf generally being wet at the end of a cycle. Great clean, particularly using 'fairly' tablets. The controller seems to have failed tonight, as the internal light comes on but the controller is dead...time for a callout and a nasty bill before xmas.  Show reply

Beautiful design and operation – Very pleased with this dishwasher. Use the Eco program and it has always cleaned well, like the light and lots of room around each of the drawers so no effort in loading glasses and dinner plates. the cheaper time for electricity (to finish before 7am). Very quiet to operate - one of the things I checked with Choice on Line which gave it a good review. Favourite features are the spaciousness, the ease of pulling out the drawers (you must have the door completely flat to push them back in as easily), and the light, as well as the silence. Best dishwasher we've operated (and have had Miele previously).

Why, why did you break – This has to be be the best dishwasher ever.... Until you stopped heating the water all the time. 50% of the time you heat, 50% you don't... Why did you leave me. Yet another not working after 3 years – We are much the same as everyone else - 2.5 to 3 years after we bought it it stops working. Stopped working after 2.5years – Stopped working after 2.5years. Control panel died. Power point is fine, light inside still works. Just no power to control panel. Reviews of the freestanding model seem to indicate this is a very common issue. I expected a $1000 dishwasher to last longer than the light bulb inside that came with it! Not happy.

Very Disappointed – We bought this dishwasher as it was rated highly by choice magazine. It does not dry the dishes, and now at only 11mths old, it is not draining and coming up with a fault code of .F0 and .20. Not happy with the dishwasher – After moving into my new home we brought a new kitchen and the dishwasher came with it as a package, so I didn't get to choose which one I wanted. to how good it was. This Westinghouse dishwasher I don't find practical, the top rack design isn't right I can't fit too many glasses in, it half the time it stays empty because there's only so much I can fit into it without the glasses banging together. The rack down the bottom is also designed wrong, it has many places you can put your plates, but you can't use all of the places because of the way it's designed there aleast 5 spaces I can't use when I have all the plate racks sticking up, it's hard to explain, but before you buy have a good look at the dish racks inside and make sure you can put plates and cups in sercuarly, because remember the power of the water pushes your dishes around. The door doesn't close propley, no water leaks it just doesn't sit evenly when closed. On a brighter note, child lock is great!! If my toddler turns it off by the power button, I turn it back on and it continues where it left off it doesn't start again like others do, so child lock stops all the buttons from disturbing the cycle but not the power button. But if it gets turned off there's no need to panic because it resumes when it's turned back on, also has its own heat pump so doesn't use your hot water. But is saying all that overall I wouldn't buy this dishwasher if I had the choice, take a very good look the dish racks when buying one and look at Bosch!

Fantastic – We've been using this for a few months now after a previously shocking dishwasher, and it's excellent! Great! – We bought this dishwasher to replace or Bosch which had disappointingly broken after 6 years and the cost to replace meant we were better off with a new one. This dishwasher was rated as one of the three best by Choice magazine, and the only one of the three available for less than $1000. I can’t tell which (or if) there is a freestanding… Read more

version of this, but this one is designed to be fixed in place and is quite light, meaning if it isn’t secured it will tip forward when the drawers are loaded and pulled out. That said, screwing it to the bench was fairly easy and the required bits come with the unit. As noted elsewhere, there is a very big solenoid on the water hose (flood prevention I think) and this required a bigger hole to be cut in the back of our cabinet to feed it through to the tap.

The bottom of the unit is a long way recessed, so you can put your own cabinet kickboard there.

Compared to our old one it is much quieter. The two negative things the Choice review noted was that the standard wash is quite long, and that it is power-hungry. However, we’ve regularly used the 30 minute program and it does a great job with standard load for much less cost. As long as you open it when it finishes it dries well too.

I really like the way the top drawer can be adjusted for height. We can get much bigger things in the bottom.

So for now we are very happy with it. The only question mark is its reliability, something I’ll let everyone know all about should it fall short there.

Loved it but broke down after 24months – Dishwasher was great for the first 2 years. Then it just stopped working. Excellent – You have to ask yourself what you want from a dishwasher, and for me it's got to wash and dry well and be quiet.
