Too many problems – - no fan to cool the oven once you turn it off and it then gets very hot in the outside (the Westinghouse repair person just said it should be ok but if I was worried to run the oven on defrost at 0 degrees for 15-20 minutes) - inside black painted chipping away where it wasn’t damaged by the user (told it was nothing to worry about) - now out of… Read more

warranty and it is randomly turning off and tripping the oven fuse (I have no other items running exempt the fridge/ freezer.

Very disappointed.

Going to get it removed and replaced.

I am now looking into a more reliable model/ brand.

New Fan Forced Oven – I recently bought a new Westinghouse Fan Forced oven which is now installed and working well. It is a trial and error method to get used to it though as my previous oven which I bought 20 years ago only just gave up working so I am now getting used to the newer model which does not take long to heat up, and retains it's temperature very well. It… Read more

also doesn't stay on long to regain its's required temperature either which means all parts are working and the seals too are doing well. I have not cleaned it as yet so cant comment on that one but there isn't much splatter form what I have cooked and I use the drip tray provided on the bottom shelf which protects the bottom part off the oven. Shelves are what they call drop down meaning when you put the shelf in it rests slightly lower than the slots provided, doesn't' seem to make much difference to cooking time though which is good. I also did put a temperature gauge inside it when I first used it and that checks out to be correct so far. One thing though the electrician who installed it said to run it for a while empty as whatever stuff is put on it will burn off, he said it is some sort off oil, and it does smell terrible and get a little smoky but leaving the door open a little gets that out off the oven.

Glass explode 9 months out of warranty and crap customer service – I bought this oven June 2018 along with a Westinghouse cooktop & fridge. I have used it maybe 15 times since then and it is virtually new. The other night it decided to explode the front panel of glass sending glass fragments everywhere. It was not even on! Scared the hell out me!. Rang customer support and they didn`t want a bar of it. Straight… Read more

away said it was my fault and no they wouldn`t cover it. I`m a single guy so no else touches it but me. Really poor in my eyes and probably a bad design. It should be a laminated glass to start off with so it doesn`t end up everywhere. Needless to say i`m out of pocket now for a new glass and labour and this will be the last time to purchase Westinghouse products or even Electrolux.

Australian made workhorse. Very happy with it – When the time came for a new oven I really did the research. We use our oven a whole lot and are a household where the oven has no choice but to be a workhorse. We were also replacing a terrible oven that came with the house. A Euro branded piece of landfill that was a), in no way European in origin b), unable to maintain any kind of… Read more

even/consistent heat and c), impossible to get parts for.

Whilst it may not be a sway factor for some purchasers I’m a staunch believer that we should support local industry. Westinghouse, Chef and some of the Electrolux ovens now comprise the only remaining appliances that are actually manufactured in Australia. If you don’t support local manufacturing it won’t survive! There was also the prior experience thing: we had owned Westinghouse ovens in prior homes and always found them to be consistent for baking and, most importantly, reliable. Parts availability was also an important consideration. We had heard far too many stories from friends who had needed to wait 6 weeks for parts to get their fancy Italian or German oven back in action. This genuinely doesn’t seem to be the case for Electrolux brands in Australia; parts are generally easy to attain. The Westinghouse also offered what appeared to be the largest internal capacity of any of the standard sized ovens on the market so that pretty much sealed the deal.

Having ready many reviews about the failure rates of pyrolitic ovens we just opted for the basic oven (this model) with the digital timer. Eighteen months or so in and we can’t complain. It looks great, the heat is VERY even throughout the cavity and all of the functions have been put through their paces thoroughly.

Gripes? Nothing major. We do tend too think that the heat sits a few degrees below the dial so if you are requiring a 180 temp we generally set the dial to 190 to achieve the desired result. The only other thing that may be an issue for some purchasers is that these ovens won’t slot directly into a new IKEA kitchen oven cabinet. We replaced our kitchen about 6 months after the purchase and needed to modify the IKEA cabinet to fit the oven. It wasn’t a big job - just a bit of a hassle. Apparently this issue is unique to the Westinghouse ovens - possibly a consequence of the spacious internal cavity but, as stated, easily worked around.

All in all we would highly recommend. A solid performer and a high quality Australian made product.

Excellent value; simple to operate; exceeded expectations – As I write this we've been using the oven daily for 9 months. It's performed better than we expected. We've used it to bake cakes, muffins, pies, biscuits and scones; roast vegies (we don't eat meat); cook pizza and to prepare oven-baked frozen potato chips. The temperature control seems accurate and consistent. We've had many satisfying results… Read more

with cakes and puff-pastries, something the previous oven was never able to deliver. We were accustomed to frequently rotating the food during cooking/baking. This is not something we need to do as much.

Visibility really is superb: the bright interior light and the door's full-width glass panel make it easy to see the progress of cooking without the need to constantly open the door.

The double-glazed door design really does keep the exterior surface cool. It also has an unexpected drawback. It is all-too-easy for minor drips and dribbles from food prepared on the cooktop to find its way through the ventillation slots across the top edge of the door. This means that all four glass surfaces require cleaning. Fortunately the interior glass panel is easily removed to facillitate this.

Keeping the oven interior clean has proven easy. The fittings are easily removed and re-fitted. They comfortably fit in our dish washer.

Fan noise while the oven is in operation is acceptably low. I've never experienced my hair being blown around as observed by another reviewer.

Installation was simple. We had an electrician fit a cord to connect it to the existing under-bench 15A outlet. The oven is supplied with two plastic bushings and 3 pairs of screws of different sizes, shapes and threads. The sparky used the "silver" pan-head screws to secure the clamp on the electrical cable.

The installation guide suggests using the "long black screws" through the holes either side of the top of the door. These holes are counter-sunk and sit over 18mm timber. I used the short (15mm) countersunk timber screws in these locations. The longer (30mm) truss-head screws are combined with the plastic bushings and are intended to be driven vertically through holes in the lower door sill.

We chose this oven because it fit our budget (<$2k), was given a high score (84%) in last year's Choice survey and received more-or-less positive online reviews. The price we paid included delivery and disposal of the old oven. So far, we've had no regrets.

2 months over warranty door stops closing – Has taken time for me to do this review something I never usually do. The oven door has just got to me now something so simple that failed within warranty that Westingouse don't want to know about because I called them 2 months aftet warranty period. I really feel the need to let other people know to not go down the same road with Westinghouse. … Read more

Oven had been great couldn't fault it when we used it, didn't really use it that often as we use the webber oven outside.

Then went to close the oven one day and there was an odd clunk sound, the door didn't shut properly I took a look couldn't see any obstructions. Then it got progressively worse so it basically hangs slightly open, light on all the time we have to put a broom against it now.

Phoned Westinghouse (Electrolux) and enquired into what could be done as it failed well within warranty but due to the little use, I never got around to calling them unfortunately until after the warranty period we were just on 2 months over the warranty when I called.

Electrolux told us we would have to pay $145 to get someone out to inspect then what ever parts labour on top of that.

This was there top of the range pyrolytic oven, we spent the extra money on which was installed in our new build.

For the door to fail to close within warranty is just unacceptable, cheap parts or a faulty product.

Electrolux didn't stand by there product one bit and offer to take a look for us, or state unusual for that to occur, especially within 24months and with such little usage. The door is a basic core component of an oven, nothing electrical, it really highlights the quality of the build.

We are just installing our kitchen in the granny flat we have built, let me tell you Westinghouse appliances will not be going in based on there customer service, their care factor and warranty of there products.

I Hate this oven – This oven is now almost 4 years old. I messed up first time I used it and lined the bottom with foil to protect it. Big mistake. Foil melted on and nothing gets it off...nothing. It has not worked well ever. Stuff burns on the outside and is uncooked on the inside. Everything takes way longer than it should to cook. I dont know if it is because of… Read more

the melted foil but I have had enough and will never buy this brand again. The warning not to put anything on the bottom is tiny and hidden in the hinge area at the bottom so if its wall mounted and you are short you cant see it. Should have a warning stuck to the inside of the door that you remove when you buy it. I would have at least been able to see that.

Good oven for the standard baker – The oven looks modern and sleek when installed. I feel that the temperature is a bit lower to the actual temperature as when following recipe times and temperature settings, it always takes longer in way of cook time with this oven so I suggest you bump up the temperature by 5 to 10 degrees. Ten months into using the oven the fan inside started to… Read more

make loud horrible grinding noises. Contacted support and the technician came prepared with a new fan. After installation the noises were gone. Apparently the grinding is common in this model and you just need to install a slightly smaller fan. Luckily I was still under warranty when this happened. The timer is a bit flimsy and not easy to use but you get use to it. Otherwise, it's a good oven I use every week for cooking and baking.

Good solid oven. Nothing fancy. Just how I like it – When we renovated our kitchen I wanted something built in with an in-oven grill. Nothing fancy because, to be honest, I’m a terrible cook. Great oven – Fantastic oven cooks evenly, heats quickly, seals perfectly . No leaks just the cooling fan exhausts through the gap between the control panel and top of door so some may thinks it doesn't seal. Can be wired to 15 amp or get a 15 amp plug fitted. Good product for those on a budget – I bought this oven a couple of months ago and am fairly happy with it. I should have done more research though as the functions aren’t as easy to use as some other ovens (such as the timer and the heat up screen so you can see how long it will take until the oven reaches the desired temp) but on the whole I’m happy with it and it heats up quickly.
