Westinghouse WWT6041

Westinghouse washing machine junk – This is the poorest example of a washer I've ever used. The machine is a joke, cloths come out as dirty as when they went into the machine. 82 mins to do a load of cloths and then I have to wash them again by hand. I wish Westinghouse had this machine shoved where the sun don't shine. nearly 1,000 for this piece of garbage.
- Date Purchased:
Washes clothes well but has three very badly designed and old-fashioned features – No complaints about the wash cycles and we are happy with the way it cleans clothes. However the instructions state clearly that the detergent has to be mixed with 1 litre of warm water and then poured onto the wash load. Ridiculous! (I had expected a dispenser in the machine to take powder or liquid which is the usual (and more efficient system)) - after all this is year 2014! We have used heaps of washing machines over the years and never encountered anything like this (i.e. find the plastic jug and mix the solution). Also, when the machine has finished the load the panel is still lit up and has to be switched to the "off" position manually - another nuisance. The third complaint is the flimsy little lint filter (it has to be fished out of the middle of the agitator and and needs to be cleaned about every 2 weeks or more often as it fills up quickly). It resembles a little mesh sock and is actually hard to clean. Another yukky little cleaning job we could have done without. I once had a washing machine with a plastic mesh lint filter that fitted on top of the agitator - it lifted off easily, was easy to clean out, and one could pour the powder into the agitator as well (another sensible design feature). I can honestly recall using washing machines made in the 70s and 80s without the above three "defects" in design. Had I read the instructions manual I would not have bought this model (which is why I am writing this for other readers).
