I have had my Westinghouse Washing Machine WWT7084JSWA 7kg for 2 and a half years. I have had a problem with poor lint collection where lint is being left on all clothes after each wash. I constently clean the filter and all of the trouble shooting Electrolux suggested to no avale. I would not recommend this model. Buyer Beware.

All in all I am pretty satisfied with all the settings and functions and it does a good job, from time to time there is still powder in the cloths but really I haven’t owned for long and haven’t used it a whole lot until recently but from a fare few of back to back washes it was surrounded by a puddle of water, I’m not sure if it’s an intentional… Read more · 1
hole to release vapour but next the the water inlet holes there’s a small rectangle hole with a constant drip all down the back of the machine, also the grommet that covers the screws in the lid popped out after a few loads and is nowhere to be seen.
Junk! Bought less than two years ago. Computer card had to be replaced after eleven months. Thank God it was still on warrantee. Now it's broken down again. Tried hard reset but didn't work. Not going to waste money on getting this repaired.
GREAT VALUE & GOOD WASH RESULTS I'm a Tradie & get my work clothes absolutely filthy, my old 5kg HOOVER Gemini Top Loader finally died after 30yrs of service (I know... Wow!). After reading countless reviews, it seemed a lot of them contradicted what I have found (maybe some people are over loading it or ... ?), that's why I've bothered to… Read more
review. Please keep in mind I am a fussy person, as you read my following observations;
PRO's
● No lint or scum left on clothes post wash, cleans as gud as any machine (contrary to other reviews - FYI if U put a Towel in with your clothes, U get Lint!)
● quiet & very little water hammer (not the case for old machine)
●water levels adjustable for all cycles
●Timer countdown accurate (doesn't "take forever" to start filling)
●straight forward operations, whether U read instructions or not
●soft lid close doesn't "take forever"
●great value - $534AUD from GoodGuys, Hectorville, S.A.
CON's
Honestly haven't found any yet, other than the detergent tray was a bit stiff to pull out but seems to be loosening up as I keep using it.
Hope this helps U guys, esp. coz of the contradictions I had found in other reviews.
Less than 6 months old, this washing machine displays the error code E40 every single time it's turned on and will not start a cycle until it's cleared. However clearing it requires a totally random sequence of turning it on, off, twisting dials and pressing buttons. Then somehow it just magically starts. An absolute pain when you have to deal with this every cycle. Not impressed at all. Show details

Bought this to replace Simpson. Bad choice. Looks like there are plenty of wash options, but no. Can’t do long small load or short full load. Spin does not spin out properly on smaller loads. Useless. I did some research on the technical, but missed the reviews. Another bad choice. I would not recommend this machine. No value, having to waste water, time or do extra spin cycles to spin clothes properly. Show details

Would give zero star rating if I could Purchased this model Westinghouse 10kg top loader in 2023 .. this was to replace a very reliable whirlpool top loader which we had used without any issues for 12 years ..we also purchased a 3 year extended warranty via Harvey Norman Most issues are very similar to other reviews .. it surprises me that… Read more
the reviews for this machine (via the major retailers websites ) are almost 5 stars .. my issues as follows
First machine delivered leaked profusely flooding my laundry and was immediately replaced as a swap over by Harvey Norman within 5 days …so no issues there
Machine stops and starts filling with water during initial cycle even when you select your water level.
You can’t do a 20 minute quick wash on anything other than the low water level which is set too low so you are limited to what you can wash at that setting.
Medium water level is too high so it wastes water - I have eventually worked out the volume of clothing needed for this water level to avoid water wastage.
The initial wash programme ends quite quickly where the machine starts to empty out within less than 10 minutes so you almost avoid the 45 and 60 minute cycles for more soiled or heavier clothing.. this is clearly a design/programme issue where a lot of the cycle time is wasted with the initial water filling (stopping and stating)
If you want to add extra clothes whilst it’s filling you can but the water stops and the machine pauses … so.. if you don’t get that item back into the machine quick enough or you forget to unpause the machine, it will start to empty water and you have to restart the cycle again (wasting water that has already filled) .. if you try to reset the wash cycle again when this occurs, it doesn’t pause the existing water level it still continues to empty.
Lint filter is useless not to mention the current issues where I am now noticing dark particles attaching to white clothing after every cycle - I regularly clean this machine and have never placed any heavy soiled work clothes to avoid build up within the agitator or drum and never experienced these issues occurring with my previous and much older machine
I don’t use bleach or fabric softeners and only use environmentally friendly detergents as we are on a septic system so the level of grime coming off the drum is odd so I have had to undertake a number of hot wash cycles with various cleaning products.
As at 2 weeks ago the machine suddenly stopped working and wouldn’t fill with water ( occurring just outside the manufacturer 2 year warranty).. the fault has just been diagnosed as possibly repairable under the terms of the extended warranty.. I am still waiting for a resolution from product care who provide the extended warranty … my request is for a pay out opposed to a repair .. I’m still waiting for a determination.. I would never purchase this brand or model again.

MADE IN THAILAND Firstly same as a lot of the comments here I assumed (I don’t know now why) itwas an Australian brand and made here which is one of the reasons I chose this brand and. So you can imagine my horror when I unpacked my machine and the… Read more
sticker on the back said made in Thailand. It was a selling point for me and IT IS NOT AUSTRALIAN MADE! If I had known this it may have affected my choice. It also took me a while to work out what it was doing at the beginning of a wash where it would partly fill with water then seemed like it started washing with no water in… until I realised it was a function to mix the detergent before filling completely. Ok that sorted. And the issue is the powder ends up on your clothes anyway not where it’s supposed to go, so whilst it is mixing and not filling for 5 minutes the soap on the clothes is going hard and stuck to clothes. so I will have to now pre dissolve the powder which I didn’t have to do with my old machine that sprayed out the water :( It’s ok and for the price point. But my biggest concern is during the rinse cycle it simply fills and completes and empties. My old machine would empty then spray clothes to get rid of soap properly. This machine does not. So the soap is never completely washed out so those of you with sensitive skin should probably avoid. EDIT: I only just got the washer and now I’m lowering to 2 stars as 90% of my wardrobe is black and they all come out of the washer WITH FLUFF ALL OVER THEM! I will have to lint roller EVERYTHING. and I have a dog and my old washer used to filter the hair out of the washing this leaves it on clothes and in the washer drum not happy>:/
Follow-up · FOLLOW UP I can’t wait for this machine to die so I can get another. It is too harsh on clothes. It doesn’t matter what I try. If you use a delicate cycle the clothes don’t wash properly. If I use dirty setting the barrel is so harsh on clothes the fabric is damaged. It damages threads so little pieces that look like fluff stick up and make all… Read more
This unit was a replacement for LG, Samsung and Bosch front load washers, (all three of which leaked from the door seal profusely, even after being seals replaced). The good news is the Westinghouse top load machine doesn't leak from the door, and the lint cleaning device can be cleaned without soapy water spilling all over the floor (as was the… Read more
case with all of our front loaders). However, it brought some new challenges: Compared with our last few machines, it's very noisy in operation, during the rinse/spin cycle and especially if it has a light load. This machine beeps incessantly and loudly when each cycle ends or if it's just feeling sad (the other brands play a little soft music to let you know what happening), The Westinghouse takes several times longer to wash and spin anything, no matter how light or heavily the load or the required wash cycle - up to 3 hours for a single wash\spin is an absurd waste of energy, water and time. It uses more water -- though this wasn't a complete surprise, since it's a top load not a front load machine, the amount of our water bills has increased markedly. It shakes and vibrates and moves around on the floor, despite adjusting the feet all the time to try and keep it steady, (I'm no expert but the front load machines have a heavy weight inside to successfully minimize any floor movement, and perhaps this unit lacks that). The drum design is uniformly shaped, allowing groups of large items like towels, duvets and sheets to clump up on one side, this often ends up with them unbalancing the drum and stopping, where you have to rearrange the load again. The program control dial was pretty flaky and only worked occasionally for the first month of having the machine, but it seems to have sorted itself out for now.
Water issues – UPDATE: Issue has been resolved with a credit note for the store l purchased it from. Thanks to all who helped with this issue. My Westinghouse washing machine as under two years old and worked well at first now I have water issues like water on the floor from the machine. I already had a service call and nothing was found wrong. Now it's started… Read more
with the water issues again. I am very upset as I have had some personal issues and I am just frustrated that I seem to be having so much hassle with this machine as I really like it. I am awaiting for the service call out for this second issue but sometimes you just feel like giving up. Thanks God bless Kind regards Kylie
Never, ever an Westinghouse or Electrolux – We bought the Westinghouse top loader 7kg ... It's terrible . We've only had it 6 months and the thing needs a part , the error showed E40 now! on a front loader this means the door needs closing but on a top loader it needs a part !! still under warranty ... well that doesn't help me when washing is pilling up and it coast $10 just for one load. I putsches this machine also because I thought it was made in Australia. I know nothing is made to last because its all about consumerism, but 6 months is just plain rude . Never again will I but a Westinghouse or Electrolux. OH and the lint catcher ..... lint everywhere but in the catcher ...... not a happy camper at all .

Leaking from first use - trip hazard – Leaking from day 1 - a tripping hazard for my elderly mother. My 75 year old mother bought this machine recently, and has the repairman visit 3 times already. It leaks every single time. Harvey Norman is not being at all helpful. I’ve read reviews, and it looks like a commonly known issue. Perhaps it’s time for a recall Westinghouse/electrolux for this machine? She wanted to buy Australian made, and all that she is getting is the run around. Show details

Worst Washing Machine. Waste of money – UPDATE - it took more than a month to be fixed and approximately 6 weeks after the last repair, the machine has started leaking/pouring cold water from the hot water hose. Worst washing machine ever! Just rubbish. FIRST REPAIR - I’ve had this machine for approx 18 months. I’ve been somewhat satisfied with it. It’s not as good as my last one but… Read more
it was doing ok. Out of nowhere it started leaking water and the machine kept saying the load was unbalanced. Even for light loads.
After some investigation I found where the water was coming from. I contacted the manufacturer as it’s still under warranty and The Good Guys (I purchased extra care). Both companies told me to expect a call back within 2 days. More than a week passed before I called them again. After 2 weeks someone finally contacted me and came out to look at the machine.
After a quick inspection I was told how this happened all the time due to the poor quality materials used during manufacturing. Apparently the parts are easily replaced. I was told within 2 weeks.
It’s been 1 week so far and I’m still waiting to be contacted about the repair.
One of my worst mistakes – I had a Simpson top loader. Best ever till it stopped working. Just bought this 7kg Westinghouse washing machine online . Never again will go into the shop and look at them. One of the worst mistakes of my life. Tried washing on fast wash and it emptied my soap out before even starting , the water level was so low how is it going to clean my… Read more
clothes. Buttons to press for what you want , that's a laugh, as it won't let you press what you want. Spin softer , give me a break. Never buy this machine even if it's Australian made which I'm all for.
it does the work but... doesn't live to expectation – The machine is neat and relatively quiet and fits in a small laundry room. However, the lid is made of glass!! and the cycles are pre- set in a way that you cannot customise duration, water level or water temperature. So you cannot decide quick and high water level, for instance. Also, the softener/detergent compartment contents gets released… Read more
too early when clothes are still dry so your clothes come out with all the stuff undissolved 'glued' to your garments. I always have to either mix detergent in hot water in a bucket to add before the cycle starts, or interrupt the cycle to add hot water to prevent this outcome. in brief, you cannot leave the machine alone and then come to get your clothes to the line.

Great machine – Westinghouse have done a great job with this machine, only hassle we have is we did not realise how much space is lost with the agitator in the middle of the tub, so less room meaning we probably should have bought the bigger 8kg model. Our old one did not have an agitator. This one performs really well, not noisy at all, washes excellent and the… Read more
lid does NOT lock you out which is a plus as far as we are concerned. You do need to check loads as it does tend to go out of balance at times if you’re not careful in how you load up. Example, one set of bedsheets and two towels would be an overload. Unfortunately it does not have an out of balance warning alarm. I was extra careful with installing it to make sure it sat nice and level on our floor by adjusting the feet, and using a spirit level (as suggested in the manual) to check it. The controls are easy to understand and work well. All in all it’s a nice machine to replace the old one we had for almost ten years.
All good so far – Had this machine for 2 months. Filter net does not collect lint ( don't know where it goes! ) Much harder to take filter net from stem, my last Westinghouse was much easier. Solved problem of not enough water per wash by tipping small bucket of water onto clothes before starting machine. Extra water tricks sensors into thinking clothes load is heavier. So far all else good! Show details
So far so good – After 9momths of using this top loader fairly heavioy, it's still going fine. It has a good volume, but the weights that balance the load are not very heavy so if you put a doona cover and a few towels, or a similar large load the drum will knock the sides very loudly, so go for a more heavy weight machine if you do very large loads. The power… Read more
button and main control dial does most of the work, there are a lot of tertiary buttons but they are largely redundant. We had an issue in the first month wherein the dial spun but failed to select different programs, but after a week it resolved itself - hopefully that doesn't repeat outside the warranty period. The programs are fairly similar, 95% or the time we use the fast wash setting and then spin, to more effectively dry (before line-drying). The regular weak and spin works but throws the water out so fast it sometimes floods or laundry trough. The really annoying part is the sound it makes when it's done a cycle - like a fridge door open but much louder beeping - our last two machines from LG and Bosch had more updated notification sounds, by playing a short bit of music for example, the Electrolux Whirlpool machine is seems comparatively primitive.
worst machine don't buy – This is the worst washing machine ever. Over 40+ years of marriage and 4 kids i have had a few. It leaves lint on the cloths, you can't choose to vary water levels for different washes. It stops and starts for what appears to be no reason. I have always saved the water from my whites to use for a dirty load but this option is not available. have owned it for 8 months and think the best option is to try and sell so i can buy a decent machine Show details

Does the job but… – I’m okay with the clothes being very dry at the end of the cycle and the machine being quiet. panel and you will have to restart the whole cycle. Also you cannot choose your preferred cycle duration and water level because it’s all preset. For instance you can’t have a fast cycle with full water level. it’s either fast for minimum water or long cycle if full water level. Not satisfactory.
Not happy with it – Had this for over 12 months, loved my old machine which packed up it was simple but this one you can’t change cycle mid wash to save time, you have to turn it off to change the cycle so it starts from the beginning, auto fill only quarter fills the machine, not enough to wash properly, the full and med fill makes my water pipes bang because it… Read more

lint, lint, and more lint – i have a westinghouse wwt1084wa washing machine, boy talk about lint on my clothes, everywhere. i solved the problem, 1 remove fabric softner bowl. 2 remove lint filter. 3 get a piece of dowel or metal rod. 4 push the rod into the hole at the bottom of the centre piece. 5 tap the rod or dowel gently, until the cone in the unit is removed. 6… Read more
replace the lint filter and the water softener bowl and put the assembly back into the adjutater. 7 presto all the lint you want in the lint filter.
Lint filter does not collect lint – The machine does not collect lint full stop. Called support, they sent out a tech, all he did is change the filter bag. Cheap crap. Don’t buy one – Bought this machine. 3 dents in it. Metal is like tissue paper. 2nd load was dirty clothes (husbands work clothes as mechanic). not come off very easy by hand, meaning its not just a quick wipe to remove it. Doesnt come off well when I threw a old towel in for a load. But comes off enough to stain other clothes. Been washing his clothes for over 30 years and never had this issue with any past machine. Won’t be able to wash work clothes now, will have to waste money and time at a laundromat.
Can't handle 7kg as claimed – Updating this. Turns out the motor wasn't burnt out. This machine just can't handle the advertised 7kg. I've never had a washing machine this big. But doing the same sized loads I always do, it has given about 4-5 overload errors with burning smell in 6 weeks. Hoping to return and it and get something else. Westinghouse support is awful. We had to wait 2 weeks for a technician when they could have have told us what was going on over the phone. Show details
