and trying to manage it...use a tablespoon of the special He liquid washing detergent with a cap full of Dettol with white vinger as a fabric softener nothing else...probably best to use the soak feature finally after 5 years of washing hell got a different branded machine (fisher and paykle!) Be super careful with whites or special clothes.

Disappointing – Bought it in 2010 and with limited use 2 cycles per week the motor needs replacing will not buy a whirlpool again. It has cost us $100 to find out we would be better off buying a new machine Never again will buy quality this time Very disappointed hope this is helpful

absolutely dry - simply doesn't wash them. The manual is useless and following it to the letter doesn't help. I truly think anyone who bought one is entitled to a refund, as it is not exactly a cheapie. A long letter to Consumer Affairs is the way to go - Whirlpool should not be allowed to sell their junk in this country! Wish you could post with no stars!!

Absolute rubbish!!!!! – We are a large family and needed a large washer. I was excited to find this large washer and that is where the joy stopped. It doesn't wash properly, constantly goes out of balance, leaves lint and washing powder on clothes. I would not recommend to my worst enemy. Whirlpool Cabrio is over priced junk.

Complete waste of money – This machine has broken down after only 15 months. So far has cost $132 to find out that the main board has gone which is at least another $200 plus service call and labour. on all the machines , the nut on the pulley came loose . I tightened it and that's that problem sorted . Pity I can't fix the way it washes , it sucks . Have to use the bulky setting for everything which negates any water saving . Lint , dirty washing and damaged clothes issues every week and the time it takes is abysmal . After this good guys where great I was able to return the machine for a different brand and its been smooth sailing ever since. looks good and it has a large capacity. expensive, doesn't wash properly, ruined my cloths, doesn't retain preferences.

Totally rubbish! – Hasn't worked since we bought it 2months ago. Clothes come out covered in scum. If you decided to buy one give my regards to Justine at the complaints department. Rubbish Machine – Bought this washer 6 weeks ago after our old Sipson packed it in after 15 years sterling service.This machine is not a washing machine,more like an excuse to be one. Makes washing more of a chore

Doesn't work – Unfortunately, based on the reputation of the OLD whirlpools, I was happy to buy this. However, this machine would stop midcycle and not continue washing, so you'd have to start the cycle again and hope it would run through. Eventually, after several visits from technicians Whirlpool replaced. Not happy with the replacement (different model) either. I will not buy this brand again.

Of course a full replacement would be out of the question, even though I had purchased this product in good faith that it was in complete running order only to be told on the first visit for repair that it had not be correctly fitted in the factory in the first place. Silly me to assume anyone now days to have any consciounce for what is right or wrong when it comes to so called customer service. So well done Whirlpool for such great customer service, not!

into the washer. Some items had dirt on them that wasn't there to begin with! After just 2 weeks we returned our machine to the retailer and he sent it back to Whirlpool - we replaced it with a Fisher & Paykel washer which is just great. At least now we can control the water level. I could not recommend this machine for many reasons - it takes ages to do each load, the clothes are not cleaned, it is noisy and you have no control over the water level. Looks good Dirty sludge left on clothes. Cannot control water level. Each cycle takes far too long.

Also, on completion the clothes are tangled and all wrinkled resulting in longer ironing times. The cycles take over one hour - what sort of saving is this to a household? I've tried all the cycles to no avail. Have had to throw out and replace towels, sheets, slacks etc. A NIGHTMARE. Rang WP was advised to set the machine to extra rinse. What sort of a washing machine leaves clothes in such a state? No response. Loud whirring and screeching noises. WP sent out serviceman - said needs new motor, bolt, pulley, water all over the laundry floor. I haven't been able to use the washing machine for over one week, with 6 adults it's been a horror week. I've had to take the clothes to the laundromat - very EXPENSIVE and time consuming. As I'm a casual employee, my boss docked me one hour from my pay for having to start work late so as to spend the time sitting by the phone,ringing WP - only to be told that this or that department is not open. Am extremely distressed. Shocked with the treatment received from WP. I've requested a refund and I should also, be compensated for the damaged clothing, laundromat expenses, and pay being docked. Asked to speak to a case manager and still got fobbed-off. Finally, need to get a resolution. WP should be made accountable - they took my money quick smart and over the past three months I've lost my sanity!! NONE - You get conned by being told that it is efficient and requires less water. Terrible wash – Exact problem as other reviews. Black clothe, or anything dark, comes out destroyed,,lint, soap stains. Other clothes come out poorly washed and some cases dirtier than when I put them in. Have now started taking clothes to partners house to wash in her new FP. randomly stop after dumping water from the wash, and it doesn't refill and rinse. Consequently you need to turn it off and on again so it re-weighs and refills for another wash. What a waste of time and water!

In addition to this, you simply cannot add extra water as with the old model to top up, in fact you have no control, it's all sensored. So what is happening essentially every wash, and more noticeable on the blankets, is you have soap powder residue still on the items!

All the changes to high efficiency soap we implemented and followed the new product instructions from day one, and today we have washed a single blanket 3 times and it still has soap grains on it like sand. It is not disolving the soap correctly, nor rinsing it out, nor washing it adequately - all the things a washer is purchased to do.

The WP design genius has tried to incorporate a front loader wash efficiency to a top loader design forgetting about gravity. A total disaster and waste of time and money for us consumers.

Good Guys is now fobbing the problem off to Whirlpool, so the fun is only just beginning. My advise - Stay away from these WP top loaders, they simply are no comparison to what they used to produce. It is white Doesn't wash well, doesn't rinse well, doesn't do what it was purchased too do....

Worse washing I've ever encountered – Had the machine for 2 weeks and found it rinses poorly, can't add to the wash(lid locks)lots of lint, soap residue and very noisy. spin cycle was better but I am forever changing the programs to adapt my washing needs. I changed the washing powder several times and still found soap residue on all the clothes. As you can't adjust the water level, there is no way to check and see if it is covering the clothes. I even set the soak on to see if it would help but it didn't. My children complain their clothes are full of soap residue and our clothes are full of lint. I'm sick of adjusting the settings everytime I wash as the current settings just aren't suitable, even on delicate or quickwash. The spin cycle just wrings the clothes into a tight mess which no iron can get the wrinkles out. Hugely disappointed and will chase the retailer for a return on the product. I will stick to my old Hoover and look at getting that repaired.

In 3 months with only family use that is absolutely ridiculous, i will be asking for a refund to buy a different one although i don't think that will happen..i previously had a hoover that had no problems for 12 years go figure
