Whirlpool 9kg SaniCare Front Loaders
Verified1 review
I've had this machine for about five months now, it replaced a F&P 7.5kg which had a disproportionately smaller drum size. The wash cycle choices are good, although I did manage to see so many other machines while researching what to buy, that I got a bit lost and thought this one had a 30 minute load, it doesn't, it does however have a 15min quick load which can be extended out to just under 30 minutes with an increase in the rinse cycle to 2 and an increase in temperature if you choose to; the mixed load is 1hr 2min, with other options that range from an hour and a half right up to the Eco cotton at just over five hours. It is the largest front loader I've owned and found that going from a smaller drum on the F&P the larger Whirlpool drum size makes a huge difference in how easily it loads, it may even contribute to what I think is the best wash I've had from any of my previous front load washing machines. It is no where near as noisy as F&P when filling up and in spin cycles, it does make a few click sounds before it starts filling with water, otherwise fairly typical sounds of a front loader. The detergent dispenser did give me pause for concern at the start as the front plate kept falling off when using the front finger flap and it was tricky to put back on, so I'm careful to not use this. It would be better for the environment if front load machines had longer life cycles, with more affordable options to repair; I agonized over the $100 difference between a repair quote and buying a new machine, but given the age of 7.5yrs I was told that I'd actually done well to get that many years. At this stage I'm more than happy with it.
