The Withings Steel HR cannot be fixed in Australia . It’s not supported at all. I just need the glass replaced ( seemingly a common problem from multiple reviews) but no watch repairer will touch it. I had multiple emails with the company and was told they could not help. I could not send it to them for repair despite there actually being a… Read more

service exactly for this. It is pointless buying a product that has no support in this country - none at all. There is obviously a problem with the glass given the service exists. I won’t buy again

Not waterproof and no product support – Like so many I bought this watch as I wanted a more classic looking smartwatch. The first time I wore it in the water it stopped working and it had clear evidence that water had seeped into the casing. That’s when I discovered there is no customer support in Australia. After dozens of emails and jumping through multiple ‘fixes’ and I’ve been told… Read more

I must wait for a new charger to see if this is the problem. In the meantime I’ve been 2 weeks without a watch. Don’t touch this company. You have no recourse to product support.

Stops charging. No response from support wrt warrenty etc – I love the watch. So why a one star review? My watch suddenly stopped charging. Twicw. First time it happened it was a few years old. Bought a new one in Jan 23. Stopped changing suddenly in July 23. Tried contacting Withings both times. No response at all. Agree it undercounts steps. Show details

Withing Watch is great, the support is sadly missing – I have two Withing watches, both are great so happy with them. The support is total rubbish, I require watch straps after paying for them and being told that they are on their way I am not told they do not deliver to Australia??!!!! WTH?? They sell them here but do not support them??? It seems I have to find a friend who lives overseas (These… Read more

are their words) get Withing to send the straps to them then they can forward them on to me, total horse manure. If you sell a product in a country then you "SUPPORT IT" in that country. I will make sure from now on to post this review in every format and in every forum I can, total rubbish service and lack of support.

I am returning it to JB hi-fi for a refund – Waste of money. A steel green Scanwatch that did not sell in Europe in 2020 is flogged in Australia for $699 in 2022. Their software and app Integration is terrible. Watch itself is too big, button knocks your arm or weight gloves when you move your hand whilst working out, then pauses tracking your workout. Difficult and slow to start or stop… Read more

tracking. Never tracks sleep heart rate, shows old false data or none. Sleep stopped being tracked when they did a software update... Have to forget watch in app, factory reset watch and re add. Do not buy. Bands are too big for a women. If you are an old white guy with atrial fibrillation this watch may be worth it. My old Withings was at least useful and user friendly this is NOT. Customer service if they get back to you at all give generic responses. Very glitchy overall.

From Nokia steel HR to withings – I purchased the Nokia steel HR right before withings reacquired their watch design/patent again in around 2015 or 2016. The glass broke while sleeping and some small shards ended up inside the face, I contacted Nokia who no longer offered support for the watch (despite having their brand name where the withings logo now sits) withings gave me two… Read more

options, somehow send the watch into the US (I live in australia) and they would send a replacement to a US or Canadian address only (they asked if I had friends in the US that I could get it sent to, I do not, I live on the other side of the planet) or they offered 25% off a brand new withings steel HR. Long story short I put the watch in my draw and found it again very recently, whilst my experience wasn't the best I find myself wanting to purchase another 36mm white face one as they're absolutely gorgeous and quite a nice statement piece and probably even today the best looking hybrid smart watch that I've seen, for around $230aud on Amazon they're a good buy I just wish my initial experience during the buyout period was a bit better, I think I may end up buying another one though and that should tell you that they are at least a good looking functional hybrid watch.

Broken glass – My Steel HR is 12 months old. I cracked the glass and this is not covered by warranty. If I replace the glass, I void the warranty. Tried to find a contact number in Australia, none available. After 2 weeks of daily emails I was offered 50% off another watch. Customer service is slow & their offer is very disappointing. Show details

Poor customer service – For any user considering these products, do you due diligence. I have read the support is not great and can attest to having no response to multiple messages. Personally I’ll stick with Apple who are leaders in support. I gave 1 star for a great looking product but looks alone don’t cut it. Functionality, reliability and support that responds is important.

No Support in Australia – This watch is great, looks good, does the job that I want, the app with it is also very good. However the bands that it comes with are not fit for purpose, I have broken 2 in 10 months. The original band lasted 4 months and I couldn't buy one off of their website and no parts available in Australia, so I bought one off of Amazon. Then 6 months… Read more

later the second band breaks, I get in contact with Withings and they would love send me some new bands and will send to anywhere else in the world except for Australia. So would I buy another Withings watch - no. Its not a cheap watch and it shouldn't be breaking, and not being able to put 2 bands in the post is lazy. This company should not be allowed sell goods in Australia of they are not going support them. So Stay clear and spend your money elsewhere.

Also the glass on the face is more scratched than my Seiko Watch that I had warn everyday for the 15 years prior to getting this watch. Spend your money elsewhere.

Terrible Sleep Tracking, Advertised Accessories Unavailable, steps inaccurate – Terrible sleep tracking. It recorded that I was awake when I was still sleeping another 2hrs. Oura ring is far more advanced in this area. The site also advertises accessories that are not available; I bought the rose gold watch with the intention of getting the rose gold wrist band, but discovered later it’s not available for me to buy. now with a grey wrist band. The step tracking also isn’t accurate. Apparently I did 128 steps in my sleep.

Save your money!! – I had the same issue with my Steel HR where the hour hand doesn’t move. Followed all there instructions but still the same. Tried to fob me off to Amazon for repairs. Admittedly the watch is 18 months old and every other country is covered by a 2 year warranty with the exception of Australia where I am from. I am disappointed Withings don't back … Read more

there product in Australia for more than 12 months. I would have thought I would have a watch last more than 18 months. I purchased last year a Withings scan watch as well but this experience has left a bad taste and I no longer feel confident about purchasing and further Withings watches as after sales support here in Australia is non existent!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! – I bought a Withings Steel, liking its looks and believing that the not insubstantial cost would mean I was getting quality product. From day 1 it appeared that it was undercounting my steps. I did some online research and did as someone suggested - a factory reset. This didn’t help. I tested it against my Fitbit and did a manual step count. In… Read more

each instance it was counting 30 - 40% fewer steps than I was actually taking. Thinking that there might be a way to fix it, I contacted customer support via email and explained that the data was incorrect. I was basically given what is possibly a standard response explaining that the method of data gathering was probably different from what I was used to and my concerns were basically dismissed. No suggestions were made. In the following exchanges, they kept insisting that their product was fine, thus intimating that either I could not count, or that I must, in some way be walking peculiarly. Their language and attitude was patronising and completely unhelpful. Under no circumstances were they going to accept what I was saying. I had, initially, been open to the idea of exchanging the device for another one the same, but in light of the appalling customer service I got, I wouldn’t go near Withings, nor indeed Nokia, again. I returned the unit to the store I bought it from, and they acknowledged immediately, based on the evidence I gave them, that the product was not acceptable. I bought an Apple Watch instead.

Absolute rubbish – Bought this after some good reviews - but it was a mistake. This watch is just absolute junk. Doesn't keep steps accurately, didn't even keep the correct time, could not synchronise the time via the app easily so very frustrating and annoying. Basically, a total waste of money and sanity. Dont believe the positive reviews - it is total rubbish. Show details

Love this watch – Looks good, step counter is within 100 steps to my android phone, heart monitor is excellent. Looks like a watch, only issue is disappointed in armband but that can be worked around, charges easy and quickly. Show details

Good to begin with but down hill after that – I liked this watch when I first got it, but when I moved to an android phone it became unreliable. I sought support from Withing, who were utterly hopeless. After following their advice I could not connect the watch to the phone at all, yet despite this they kept insisting that the problems would be fixed with the next update. The fact that I… Read more

couldn't connect to get the update seemed to escape them. As I said, good with the iPhone, all down hill after that.

Disappointing! – Great looking watch but was so disappointed with the inaccurate step counting. The only way to get an accurate step count is to march or run like a soldier, arms swinging wildly with every step. Might workl for running but not a normal walk or day to day use.

Good For A Hybrid Watch – I like the simplicity. It shows me a scrolling preview of text messages, emails and alerts me to phone calls. I can then decide if I need to take my phone out of my pocket. This is what I wanted it for. I was disappointed with the silicone watch band and have developed a skin reaction. I have had to purchase a stainless steel replacement. This is… Read more

unfortunate as I seem to have an allergy, but the watch does what I want and has the added bonus of alerting me of my heart rate and how badly I actually sleep. All in all , I like this watch. And at least the watch strap has been made so that it's easy to remove and change.

This is an inferior product – It doesn't count steps on a treadmill (really?) Some technical issue evidently, so it doesn't do what the product claims to do - count steps. Regardless of this Withings refused to refund my purchase price, which I see as a breach of the Australian Consumer Law. The accuracy of the step count is way off. I have compared it to my daughter's Fitbit… Read more

and there was a discrepancy of around 2000 steps, with the Fitbit recording the higher reading It takes anywhere between 90 sec to 5 minutes to connect the watch to the app (if it does actually connect); frustrating to say the least. I have since purchased a pedometer and use this as a watch only. That's about all it is good for. Withings have not been at all helpful in this matter.

Inaccurate step data tarnishes otherwise great product – I was very pleased to find this watch, as i wanted the basics of a tracker inside a stylish package. I love the look of it, I get compliments on it all the time. I have a small wrist so bought the smaller size. I turn off the notifications as I prefer not to be bothered constantly! But they work well, as does the alarm. I like the different… Read more

settings for different exercises. Each update improves the interface a lot.

However, the inaccuracy of the step tracking bothers me. My husband has a fitbit, and my son a samsung tracker. We all did a beachwalk together; their trackers were almost the same, about 5000 steps, and mine was barely 3000. With shorter legs, I am sure I stepped more! This has happened many times. i contacted Withings, who said I needed to move my arms more to register the steps (!) sometimes one wants to put hands in pockets, or be pushing a pram! i do hope they will improve the accuracy of the tracker, because in all other respects I love the watch.

Disappointing, Poor controls – The watch looks great but doesn't keep the correct time zone so Alarms go off at wrong time. Watch band ugly and irrating especially if you have allergies to rubber, even though they say it's silicon. Operates with APP and scales but only transfers steps and sleep. All other options such as recording weight are manual entry. Very poor for its price. Worst of all, No support from Withings in Australia.  Show details

Great Hybrid smart watch! The best that caters for both worlds – I’ve been looking for a stylish activity tracker/smart watch. This ticks all the boxes - stylish, long battery life (25 days!!), waterproof, step counting, distance travelled, heart beat as well as receiving notifications from your phone. The watch doesnt have the ability to receive notifications beyond texts (it shows the first sentence or… Read more

two), calls, calendar and emails. I kind of like not being pinged every second of the day so this works well for me.

The watch would get 5 stars from me if it had gps.
