Word Bookstore

This cannot be a Christian business. Only giving one star as zero was not an option. I had a look at Word Bookstore online for some items we were looking at for our community library. I put some items in my cart and started the check out process, but found a better deal elsewhere. As I am on a limited budget for the library, I took the better deal. However, in the days following, I received an order confirmation, despite backing out of the transaction. They had processed my payment without my consent. On top of that, the items had increased in price since I put them in the basket. I emailed them to advise them I did not authorise the transaction and asked them to cancel the order. I know they received this email cause when I phoned them to find out what had happened, the first staff member started reading my email back to me. She listened but said there's no one else in the office to help further and could I call back the following week. Despite them having this request, I received zero correspondence (email or phone). I did call them back and was told everyone is on holidays - I asked them to give me a call back as soon as someone was available. I did not hear from anyone and after giving them a more than reasonable amount of time to reply, I made another call and another. I was hung up on and just kept getting told that there was no one in the office to help. When I asked when someone would be in the office to assist me, they could not tell me when. DO NOT BUY FROM WORD BOOKSTORE. I agree with other reviewers and am writing this now to confirm their experience is so similar to mine that it is not a coincidence. NEVER BUY FROM WORD BOOKSTORE. It is a sad representation (well really not a representation at all). You can't say you are a Christian bookstore and then conduct your business in this way. CONSUMERS, you might think it is worth taking the chance, but I can assure you that your time and money would be better spent by shopping at Koorong (very good range, very good customer service) or Adventist Book Centre (good range and exceptional customer service). Both these stores are represented in most states in Australia both online and bricks and mortar stores. Spend your time and money there.

A poor witness for a Christian business! – These people are the worst - Christian business? - please! I’m starting to think I’ll be raptured before I ever eventually see my order from this shameless “den of thieves”. Consider yourselves warned…

Havent recieved item and no response back – I ordered a book from here (Order No.:492865) on the 10th of December and have emailed them twice for a followup but haven't heard a single response. Pretty sure this is a scam.

Bad product but do not care – Bought a lego Brick bible for my 8 year old grandson for Christmas, and found it was very bad and negative and NOT suitable for a child or really even Christians. Despite 3 phone calls and 2 emails Word Book store never even bothered to reply to me. On phoning them yet again told they were aware of it, and refused a request for a manager to phone back or to take it further. This book is banned by many stores yet they do not care, or have any customer goodwill at all.
