A good paper weight for a men's shed – A good drill out of the box. Who hangs around to watch the green light come on after a battery recharge. It should have a cut out function on the charger. A peice of junk
Great value for money set, horrible batteries – This set represents excellent value for money, and if you only want it for a quick job or two, its perfect. However what i love about it, is also its downfall. This package does not have a bulky oversided individual battery charger unit. In fact it doesnt have one at all. You literally plug the 21.5v transformer directly into a sicket mounted on the battery. Brilliant!
Not quiet, because without the charger unit, it lacks the ability to monitor that battery's state of charge and cut out when charge is complete.
Meaning if you accidently leave the battery on charge for too long (or overnight....) you will kill the battery and its severs no purpose beyond that of a paper weight.
Just something to consider when buying.

My battery will not hold a charge – Great little drill but as I don't use it a lot the battery went flat and now will not hold a charge. From fully charged to useless in about 30 secs. Having said that I gave two others to friends and theirs are working well still. My bad luck.
Great little drill – I purchased my XU1 Cordless Drill for $29 two years ago from Bunnings. I was not expecting much of a drill for the price but soon realised this is a great little drill. After two years of use this drill works as good as the day I purchased it and the battery still holds charge. I have done everything wrong to this little drill, it has been left it in the rain, dropped from the roof and has even been overcharged by a few days.
It took me years to realise that a home handyman doesn't need to pay big money for a trade quality cordless drill, I have several trade quality drills in my shed that have faulty batteries because they were not used often.
The only thing I do not like about this cordless drill is the charger, it does not automatically turn off when the battery is fully charged. Inexpensive, 24 month replacement warranty, The charger does not automatically turn off when battery is fully charged
