Hose is very hard to connect and it took me four goes before the hose was properly secured as the connection is clearly not to the correct specifications. Once connected the fluid didn’t draw up from the bottle at all. I tried everything until I got the sh#ts and drilled the suction hole out to 4.5mm which then allowed the fluid to get drawn up. Will see how it goes killing the weeds now!

I agree with most of the other reviews that this is a useless product. I didn't use the hose applicator attachment but instead diluted the solution according to the manual application directions, and applied it (safely) with my pump sprayer with wand attachment. I am a chemist so I do know how to do dilutions properly! And I also wore protective… Read more

clothing and a mask to protect from spray drift. After two applications at two weekly intervals the weeds are still there. In fact I had to wait a month before the first application to ensure that there would be no rain within the first 24h. The weeds haven't even wilted a bit! Has the formulation of this product changed? When I used it several years ago it did work.

USELESS PRODUCT – This product is a con. If, repeat IF, I could get the thing to actually suck up the solution then it might (just might) be an effective weeder/fertiliser. I tried all the recommended solutions: pulled the cap off to make sure the tube was inserted/not blocked, tipped it on sits side for 30 seconds, tried water pressure from very high to medium. NO RESULT. A total waste of money but did not retain Bunnings'docket. Show details

The spray/mixing mechanism doesn't work – The spray/mixing mechanism does not draw up the chemical to mix with the water as it passes over the top. The only way to get chemical to mix is to squeeze the container. We bought the first at Bunnings and returned it the next day and took a replacement. The replacement acted the same as the first and has been subsequently returned. Show details

Zero rating – I am absolutely devastated as my lovely hand nurtured buffalo lawn is ruined. My husband bought this product unbeknown to me. This afternoon I noticed lots of large brown patches. When I questioned ‘why’ this product is the reason. Show details

Simply doesn’t work – The hose connection and nozzle arrangement were recently changed (2022) and it simply does not work. The hose keeps popping off, it doesn’t suck up the chemical so you need to tilt and squeeze the bottle just to get it to work. It’s as if the people that designed it, didn’t even bother testing it. Next time I’ll just buy Weed and Feed pellets. I… Read more

know what you’re thinking. I haven’t used it properly. Well, I had bought it at the supermarket so I went to my local nursery to ask if I’m doing it correctly. They said ‘no that’s not the issue’ and went on to explain that they stopped ordering it because all their customers were returning it for a refund. I should’ve gone to them in the first place. They have the expertise to steer me away from junk. Lesson learnt. As for the chemical itself, the other reviewers on here have already described its efficacy or lack thereof.

Worked well – Sprayed at the beginning of spring and now all of the bindii (and we had a lot) clover and dandelion weeds are gone. Hurray. Thank you Yates Buffalo Weed spray. But what to do with the winter grass? Show details

Browns-off/kills buffalo grass but clover continues to live a happy life – This stuff is rubbish. I sprayed the product directly on clover in a garden which was not obstructed by anything else, hence direct hit, and two weeks later the clover is still alive. Needless to say the clover in my buffalo for the most part is doing well whilst the buffalo has browned and is even dead in spots. Don't use.

Useless product – I followed all the instructions and waited 4+ weeks for the supposed results. Well, what do you know…..absolutely no impact on the weeds and I actually think it’s encouraged winter grass growth as well! I should have believed all the other negative reviews as this product is useless. I’ll be taking it back to Flower Power and insisting on a refund and suggest they remove it from their shelves.  Show details

If I was a weed I’d be dead. Sprayed me all over! – I wish I’d read the reviews prior to purchase of Yates Weed spray. I’m in total agreement with previous reviewers… it sprayed all over me. I had to cease use as was worried about reaction to chemicals contained in spray. Is the another way to apply this product to my lawn? I could use watering can but what ratio solution:water should I use? The damn stuff cost me $20 +, I can’t afford to waste it.

Terrible host connector - waste of money! Unusable – I usually buy a different brand (as had a bad experience previously with this same brand) - but someone else purchased this one for me. Tried it again. Terrible hose connection. (Not my hose either - connects to everything else fine) - Mostly sprayed out of the back of the bottle and wet me more than the lawn! Had to use one hand to hold the hose… Read more

in place and another to hold the bottle. Also made sure it was set to open - however don't feel like much product came out - spent an hour trying to hose my lawn and the bottle was still full at the end. Waste of money and time!

Weeds dying but sprayed all over me – Terrible bottle/hose connector. Immediately sprayed all over my whole body, and the whole time I was using it it was showering me. Really dangerous since these are chemicals and are not meant to contact skin and eyes, yet that’s all it did to me. Would never buy again. Show details

Can't use it because the product hose connector does not work – Followed instructions. Had approximately 120 sq metres of lawn to do. Turned hose on spray came out everywhere. Tried multiple times and holding it in various ways but the product was hardly getting used. Had sprayed my area multiple times and after half an hour still had half a bottle left. Wasn't my hose as it works fine on other connections. Don't know about the product but the applicator is useless. Show details

The only thing it has killed so far is the buffalo lawn – I have a 3/4 Acre block with a mixutre of different grass families gowing in it. The target area had clover growing though the buffalo lawn. I sprayed the mixutre 5 days ago exactly following the instructions, and as of today the only thing dying in the areas of application is the beautiful buffalo grass! All turning yellow and starting to fade… Read more

away. The clover is shining through now and i am faced with the possibility of digging the entire area up and starting again, 500m2 + mind you not exactly a cheap exercise. I had a number of people tell me not to use it but chose to believe the product advertisement instead. Lesson well learned.

Kills weeds, but – The container I bought leaked profusely. The cap on the front that is supposed to stop the mixture until you are ready just blew open. Everytime. (No, I didn't apply a huge amount of water pressure, even though the label indicates "moderate to high.") Plus, it leaked significantly out the back where the hose connects. (No, my connector… Read more

worked fine on other connections.) It kills weeds, but I would not buy it again due to the difficulty of applying it.

Absolutely fantastic for my type weeds – Used buffalo pro weed killer on my lawn to kill what I believe to be some sort of brassicas, directions say won’t see results for a couple of week , but can you believe it weeds dead overnight. Fantastic. Show details

Effective for certain weeds – Used this on my weed-ridden lawn recently. Very effective against pennywort, bindii and dandelion. Clover took several applications to eradicate, but ineffective against richardia. Also expensive and no shut off valve makes using it somewhat cumbersome. Show details

Great kills weeds – Have sprayed my lawn with this and has already been a week and the weeds are nearly all goon. I had lots of clover on my lawn and it looks great not to have it all on my lawn. This is a great hose on applicator and is very easy to apply. Hose on applicator is great  Show reply

Does not acchive any results – I sprayed my lawns twice with the appliccation it said on the box but very little happened, the clovers leaves went a little brown but did not kill the clover at all. Very dissapointing. But there is little that will work with buffalo but this one was not worth the time.
