Zongshen ZS250GS

Best chinese Harley ever (charlie) – I have bought a ZS250 -10 shovel tail style bike. Fuel economy off the board. Low center gravity turning amazing. Not the cheap plastic of former bikes which fell apart. This bike cost me less then 2 grand aud including rego. Comfortable seating nice handles extended legrests. 8 hour run and the Harley travelling with me had to refill twice. I still had reserve.
Running with a friend who has a Harley and he is always wanting us to swap rides. Looks great rides amazing ..best bike ever
December 6th 2016 Update: Perfect harley zongshen cross
Had the bike 6 months now cruises at 90kph fuel consumption amazing. I think I need another two teeth on the drive sprocket. That would five it much nicer cruise range. Well constructed versatile good looking bike. This shows that chinese bikes are developing in class and technology. For the price of 4 thousand png kina that's amazing value for money. It has not been discontinued but enhanced

Bad – As the bike was my first bike to learn to ride on I didn't have anything else to compare it with, but after seeing and talking to other owners of Zongshen bikes I leaned that the problems I had weren't uncommon and I am yet to see an owner who can say its a great bike. If I had my choice to buy or recommend a Zongshen bike I wouldn't. It was a cheap first bike, looks like a real bike almost everything about it is cheap from the head lamp retaining clip getting so hot it melts the lugs that hold it on to the speedometer being at least 10 km out.
Excellent – This bike is easy to work on and comes with a well illustrated, comprehensive manual. Can be bought new in a crate for about $3500 or from a dealer for about AUD$4000 to $4500. Would best suit a new biker or someone getting back to bikes. You can buy it new in preference to a thrashed Jap bike for the same price. That was my thoughts before buying and it has certainly paid off. Of the cheaper priced bikes, is one of the better to buy. Reliable, good quality finish and mechanicals. 2yr warranty parts/svce.(10,000km). Easy to work on for do-it-yourselfer. Excellent brakes. None to be mentioned.
Good – it is a good learner bike but the cons out wiegh the pros i love it when it workes but i very rarely go longer then 2 or 3 weeks without a minor issue with it but that is good in its own sense gets a learner used to working on a motorbike. recomend replacing battery instantly after purchase with a yushimo yb7 or somthing like that. nicest sounding 4 stroke 250 ive heard puts my friends across to shame and his vt250spada. takes skill to make it go as fast as its sounds if u know what i mean. i have owned it for about 6 months and done 12k km i seriously want to upgrade for better reliability and power. i have slid out once on it dropped it once and hit a kangaroo at 60kmh and it still keeps itself together mechanically which is pretty impressive btw im not a bad rier just really bad roads and wildlife were i live/ being dareo. price was right, exelent for a learner rider for the fact its large but stable, sounds nicer then most 250s, very easy to work on and the unique not many of them on the road.profesional class forks and front brakes. at 6800km had ignition problems had the fairing of looking at the battery went to start it and battery exploded. electricals arent the best esp battery. transmition case is very thin and gets very noisy. my clutch siezes about twice a month but is easily and quikly releases.parts are a bitch to get for it.back brake is piss weak and is easily warped.
