Handy phone – After reading the other reviews I had to add my two cents... The ZTE Blade Vec was a great little device which I took with me across the USA on a 6 week road trip as my main handset. Worked a treat and I used it for 9 months before I got a newer ZTE model.. The Blade Vec is in my desk draw and still works fine. I never had any issues with it and only my latest ZTE handset beats it due to newer hardware build and OS.

One thing that I thought was interesting was that Jean said she sent it to ZTE in SA for repair... ZTE is HQ in Melbourne and they replace under warranty directly and QSL who can also do replacements is located in Sydney. That "repair" took months because the JB Hi-Fi store sent it to the wrong repairer. If they had actually called or checked the correct process then you would have got a replacement device in a week or less (depending on Auspost in the end).

I know this as I have had a broken display and ZTE in Melbourne did a replacement out of warranty for a small cost which was great.

Cheers,

Teg

Very handy for the working girl – I work in an area that requires a work mobile and at times I have left my personal phone at home. I ended up getting the ZTE blade which has a dual sim card slot so I only need to carry one phone . I also love the camera, great resolution and easy to use plus I can instantly post them on facebook or twitter.

Unreliable and poor turnaround for servicing – Bought the phone in March and was dead by June. Less than 3 months. Went back to JB HiFi who were very helpful and diagnose the issue as the handset being plugged in but couldn't power on. So they had to send it back to ZTE in SA for fixing. The expected turnaround is 1 month. No replacement mobile or loan mobile provided. So we had to scramble for a spare to keep our business phone line going. I thought this was a bad luck purchase but then, as i was waiting in line at JB to get mine looked at, another fellow with exactly the same phone brought it back for WiFi issues.

I spoke to the JB person about the quality and rate of returns but he didn't give me a definite answer. Naturally I am not expecting an iPhone quality when paying $196 but one would at least expect it to last 1 to 2 years of normal usage instead of 3 months.

Other than that, the phone has an amazing screen resolution, lovely solid feel to it, being android it is easy to use and get tips online but it broke within 3 months and met another person having issues with the same phone is not a good start.

Not buying another ZTE phone or product for now.

Just as an update, we just got the phone back last week. 2 months of repairs and they decided it can't be fixed. So they replaced it with a factory tested equipment and our warranty will continue without renewal. So for two months I had no phone to use and paid for warranty to run out with no replacement. Stay away.
