Ok for the price, with great battery life. Do not get this phone if you rely on emails (using the Gmail app) Good camera for photos, ok for videos Email sync is very slow, nothing is instant especially when everything requires multifactor authentication now, emails come through half an an hour later When sending emails, emails sit in outbox for a day before it sends, not sure why one email is queued for so long Everything else seems to work ok but very slow to load apps

Terrible – Bought this phone for my daughter starting highschool. This phone is terrible. It only takes a couple of apps to cause it to freeze. I would not recommend this phone.
Disappointing and somewhat frustrating – I recently purchased this phone. I have experienced 3 problems with it. Ring volume and call volume are too low; the volume during Bluetooth conversations is too low; and it's having problems receiving SMS. I reset it to fix the SMS problem but it didn't. I tested my SIM in another phone and it had no problems with SMS. I have found getting assistance from ZTE difficult.
SMS issue could be network related after recent changes (3G switch off). Can you enable SMS Chat, this pushes SMS over the internet whenever available. (Messages > Settings > RCS Chat) How did you attempt to contact ZTE. We have a call center, email, social and website support and all escalations are passed to me. I did not see any communication regarding this...
Additional information such as which carrier are you using with the device and a general location / area and date / times, since alot of both the Optus and Telstra networks are going through changes since the 3G switch off. Also have you allowed the device to perform its FOTA updates?
As many of us use the same device ourselves we have not had issues with the device itself as you describe, but we have seen that the networks have had issues providing services while 3G is being switched off and the network services get adjusted... I believe that is the cause of your issues and it is network dependant and will be sorted out once the area you are in is sorted out.
It's the phone. When I put the SIM in another phone the SMS works.
We are really going to need some more details and responses to our questions. We have not seen any issues on SMS. No one else has reported any SMS issues. There is not much to go on here. If you want to continue with support please email support@zte.com.au
Thanks
Great value for money 5G phone – I have been using this handset since it became available and purchased it outright as that is what I tend to do. The spec's looked good and I have had other nubia (ZTE) devices in the past so I was confident in it being a safe purchase. More so, due to it being sold by Optus and if I had known that Optus was going to release it on plans for a $1 per month, I might of waited before purchasing one outright for my mum....
Spec's wise this handset is very usable as a gaming handset and / or business phone. It's main feature thou is the main camera, which is 108MP. It does take nice pics and video and there is alot of options to play with in the camera app. That isn't my area of need. I just wanted a new phone and saw this was out.
What I like - It's 5G, has Android Auto for conecting to my new car, Great sound as I listen to music and podcasts all the time and the battery life, display and camera (if I bother to use it) are excellent as well.
The only thing I don't like is that it is missing the microSD slot / support so my main method of listening to my personal music collection is made more difficult. There is 256GB roughly of storage internally, so I just put an album or two on it if I really feel like listening to something from my collection, otherwise I just resort to Spotify with the ads (free version).
Now I have been using it and can't knock it. The only things that I recommend are ensure that you allow the phone to do it's updates (there are OS updates too), at least once a week restart the handset since Android needs this (not a specific handset issue, just the OS functions better if it is restarted regularly.
I doubled down and purchased one of these for my mother as well and the only issues she has had are with her carrier (Telstra in her case) while they remove 3G and update their network in and around Ballarat Victoria. Can't fault the handset and mine, which is on Optus, is more stable than my Telstra based handset due to the network changes that are still being worked on.

Hi. I have been using this phone for about 5 months and I do not experience apps freezing. Usually a stuck app is a result of poor internet connection, handset running multiple apps in the background (shut some down) or a poorly written app that is laggy or buggy. The handset has limited memory so can only run a few apps simultaneously but they should not be freezing. If you would like us to look into this further pls email support@zte.com.au and we will take a look. Providing a list of example apps could help us look into this. Thank you
