Died after one year – Was quite happy with this in the beginning. The bread would come out nice and crispy. We used it once or twice per week. After one year it just stopped working. Waste of money and bad for the environment. Won't be buying this again sadly. Show details

Excellent – I love this sandwich press as you can toast any size sandwich. the top grilling pad has a lock so you can gril open faced sandwiches too. it easy very easy to clean, just wiope down afterward with a piece of paper towel and you're done. I had an old jaffa sandwich press which was very messy and hard to clean. The breville sandwich press is so… Read more

Excellent – Got one for Xmas last year and at first wasn't too sure why a 37 year old man would get one of these.... but after using it a few times I feel compelled to write something about it. Compact, efficient, fast cooking, good quality ... it's an awesome toaster, would recommend for you to try. The bit I like the best is that it's non-stick, so you… Read more

can do cheese sandwiches, etc. It's perfect Size & price, well I got it from mum for christmas so the prize was $0, but my sister got one and it was well priced. Hmmmm not much wrong with it. I guess you can't go much wrong with a toaster.

Easy! – Edit 2024: 12 years of use and still in great condition. Used more in winter. This is easy to use and clean. Not suitable around young children as it gets very hot. We've got this for Xmas. Teenage son loves it, uses it most days and cleans it. Wipe down twice with a damp sponge whilst still hot/warm. If doing open melts, adjust the top plate… Read more

before turning it on. A risk of burns trying to adjust the level and plate while hot. For sandwiches with a lot filling, you need to leave in longer after turning off, OR cook with top and bottom separate, then combine. Suggest buying on line. The prices vary incredibly. Saw one shop on sale at $60! Supposedly their original price was $80. Typically $55-60 in the cheaper stores. Easy to use clean and store. Should never need to use abrasive cleaners if you wipe clean while hot. Height lever can be tricky to operate, especially when hot.

Lived without it for far too long !! Another great Breville – Simple to use Simple to clean Leave on the benchtop because it looks sleek Great winter tucker maker ! I love the design of all Breville's electric power plugs - superb Reliable, simple, easy clean.

OK – I have had this for about 5 years and only used it about 12 times, I always clean it thoroughly by putting a slightly damp cloth between the surfaces and then wipe clean--when any food has softened, I have never have scraped it--and I then put paper towel between to store it. I just think that the non stick should have still been in good… Read more

condition. Great concept----love the way it toasts, easy to use, easy to store. I have always looked after this and cleaned well never scraped it--however when I got it out to use the other day--there are some rough areas on the non stick. I rang Breville but they could not have cared less.

Good for easy lunches – This is small, light and easy to clean. Handy for quick lunches/light dinners. So happy I finally bought one, instead of using the oven grill. Inexpensive, easy to use and quick to heat

Excellent – For a long time I was tossing up if I should get one of those sandsich presses. Earlier this year I gave it and - voila! never regretting it. The sandwich press is easy to handle, heats up fairly quickly and toasts very evenly. I turn my sandwich, if it's a big on the large side, during cooking time, also if the sandwich is a bit thicker than… Read more

normal. I have made sandwiches for visitors; it's always handy to be able to offer a quick snack when somebody turns up on your doorstep as a surprise! I would buy this sandwich press again for myself or as a present. Great gadget, easy to use None, which is really true.

Excellent – Am about to buy one as a present for a friend......best ever! Just a thought to Barry who reviewed before me - Why dont you take it to be fixed? Dont waste the best appliance you could ever have to landfill! Check with Breville who in your area that can do repairs or local electrical shops will help. Ps I do not work for Breville.......just love… Read more

toasted sangers! Have had it for four years now and still works perfectly. I set it on toast and even do pizza for the kids on it. Wraps, toasted sandwiches, hot cross buns and croissants have all been done successfully on it. Love the different height settings. Nothing bad about it at all unless you count the fact that it lives on my benchtop!

Excellent – This unit was a gift nearly 4 years ago. It's been great and I've used it to death. The flat, non-stick plates make it a synch to clean. The flat panel press plates are simple to clean. I like the fact that the handle can be locked so you can lift it in and out of cupboard by the handle with one hand and not juggle it. It's faired reasonably… Read more

OK – The sandwich press is easy to use and wipe clean. However, I don't see that this product would be any better (or worse) than any other brand. Whilst the lock mechanism is good to lock the lid down when in storage, it is too easy to burn yourself if you don't open it before you plug it in. The non-stick surface scratches too easily when compared… Read more

to non-stick saucepans etc. Easy to use and clean The non-stick coating comes off easily - must use plastic utensils rather than palette knife to get sandwich out! Ensure that you unlock the top before you turn it on otherwise you can't open it without burning yourself.

Bad – Good untill it stopped working - not sure why... contacted Breville to see if they take back old or dead appliances to recycle into new products...they don't and I can't put it in the household recycling so I guess its going to landfill - what a waste and very disapointing that Breville don't take some responsibility in regards to the impact their products have on the environment. Worked well for approx 12 months Died after approx 12 months

Excellent – A must have for any kitchen, especially with children of all ages. I love my egg and bacon rolls toasted and this finishes them off to perfection. I can thoroughly recommend this to anyone - If you haven't got one, go out and buy one. through heavy handed wiping of the surface. We have now purchased the same model for my work and this gets a real caning - the staff love it. Fast to heat up, had this for years, no problems at all. It gets a fair bit of use, especially weekends. Easy to clean - just a quick wipe with some paper towel. The press will open up and take a thick sandwich or roll. I love putting all my weight on the handle and leaning down hard to squash that roll just the little bit more. Nothing much - It takes a while to cool down but I learn to live with this. Sandwiches can sometimes be squashed a bit unevenly making the melted cheese run out, but this can be overcome by the placement of the bread in the press (and less cheese.

Excellent – Love It! Wish I got the Maxi. We received this as an engagement present just over a year ago it gets used at least twice a week, would probably get used more if we were at home more. When your finished cooking, you just wipe it over with a paper towel whole its still hot. easy! When Big W has a sale, I bought 2 and gave them out as housewarming presents. Easy to clean, can cook just about anything on it None Really though it does take a while to cool down

Excellent – Have had this product for quite a few years and it's working well. My husband used metal knifes on the plate which has scratched it, but I am pretty impressed this has not affected the condition that much of the non stick coating considering the scratches on there. Once you turn it off at the unit, it stays pretty warm which I have found useful… Read more

Good – I was extremely impressed with this unit. I wanted to buy a cheaper model but this one was on special too. I would recommend this unit even at full price. I have only had this unit for a very short time so I can't attest for the durability of it. That's the only reason I'm only giving it a 4. Heats up really quickly. Easy to use. Cooks really quickly. Cooks sandwiches uniformly. Metal hinge stopping overrotation of top grill causes cosmetic scrating on the outside of unit. Takes a while to cool down. (minor complaints)

Good – this is a very useful appliance, it can flatten out a sandwich etc. but i usually fiddle around with the top plate to get it to sit right. it makes a bit of a noise clicking when nearing the heat-up stage and it would be a better feature if there were a high or low setting but overall that is not a big deal. it is quite easy to clean too providing… Read more

Good – This sandwich press seems to last forever as I have had mine quite some time. Good – When you put thick sandwiches in, the angled top plate makes the top slice not sit flat, but if you spin the sandwich around part way through cooking, it will flatten out. I use one at work to grilling bacon, naans & chappatis too (obviously you don't lower the top for these). Just a good basic sandwich maker. Doesn't have dials or buttons to… Read more

distract you: it just heats up and cooks. Makes really good toasties: golden brown without needing to smother the outside in butter/marg like those sandwich makers from 'back in the day'. Easy to clean (just wipe down while still warm). Takes a while to cool down, but if you push away from the edge of the bench (& wandering hands of kids you should be right).

Excellent – I have had my sandwich press for more than 6 years and I still love it. It gets used at least 1-2 times weekly, and the non stick surface is still non stick and in great condition. zucchini and capsicum. My father has also cooked eggs and ham on his(with the lid open). Highly recommended! This sandwich press is quick to heat up, fast to cook and really easy to clean the non stick surface. I would like it to be a little bit bigger, but the maxi is available now which can cook 4 sandwiches at once. The outer is much harder to keep clean, with finger marks and smudges etc, but this isn't a big deal for me.

Excellent – This is a great toaster that you can use to cook / toast a variety of things. It has an adjustable height so that you can toast bread or taller sandwiches made with Turkish bread. Excellent – Love it. It really is non-stick. Melted cheese just wipes away. It pays to shop around. I saw it in one major variety chain for over $70 then I found it for $44 at Big W. After I bought mine I found out that 2 friends of mine also have the same toaster and they love theirs too. I'm buying one for my mother this Mother's Day as I'm so confident and happy with this product. :-) Quick to heat up. Non-stick. Takes various thickness of bread with ease. Can set the top plate to toast or to just gently heat through by using the lever at the side. It does take a while to cool down but I just push it to the back of the benchtop while it cools to get it out of the way.

Excellent – I have had this sandwich maker for about 2 years, and use it every other weekend or so. the adjustable toast height with the floating hinge is very handy, as it means that if you have a really thick sandwich, it does not completely squash it. Good – These are great for toasting pretty much anything. First got one when the normal toaster died, and found it cooks toast just as easily as sandwiches.
