Stay away!! The worst service and workmanship! – This has got to be one of the worst companies I’ve dealt with! Both ladies are horrendous to deal with. TA does not know how to measure. Does not even write much down when she measures. Either did not turn up or cancelled appointments. I can’t believe I still went with them after both muck ups. That’s nothing! Both curtains were too short! Installer had to come back and reajust! Still too short but at least he was able to fix it slightly. I now need sheers and made the mistake of getting them to put a double track for when I need them. Went elsewhere and the new company won’t even hang them because they also stuffed up the double track. They also take all the money up front before the job is finished because they know such a bad job is done. Thanks for a job bad done!! Never again!

Buyer Beware - Terrible Customer Service!! – Buyer Beware – I had an absolutely terrible experience with this company! I went with this company for my curtains for 2 reasons: 1. The woman who quoted the job, Ta, told me that the holes in the wall left by the removal of my old blinds would be filled in as part of the job (the other company who quoted were upfront and said they do not do… Read more

2. I wanted my curtains to be much wider than the window so that when the curtains are open they do not cover any part of the window and they cover the walls at the sides of the window. I was very specific about this when discussing my requirements with Ta. She quoted just under the amount of my other quote to do this so I went with her.

When the curtains were installed, neither of the above points were met. I was charged more to have the holes filled in and the width of the curtain poles and curtains are not long enough so now the curtains cover the edges of the windows.

I have contacted [Name Removed] multiple times and asked her why I have not been delivered what I asked for. She said I could get the curtains wider but it would cost more (hence she under quoted to win the job and never intended to meet this requirement). She has therefore lied to me and delivered curtains that do not meet my specifications just to get the amount of the quote under the other quote and to win the job.

The curtains were not installed correctly and they had to get another installer to fix the original installation. They required that I pay the whole amount upfront so I had nothing to hold back should the job not be as I requested – which it was not. There are no measurements on the quote so I can’t go back and say that the job was quoted incorrectly.

Plus she sent me another persons receipt WITH THEIR NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER AND CREDIT CARD DETAILS!!!

Absolutely terrible experience with this woman. She does not do what she says she will. She said she would come and sort the problems out but delayed multiple times and then sent an installer instead. I still do not have the width of the curtains I asked for.

poor service – Asked to pay everything up front which we did but we are still waitng for part of the order following the install. They said it missed the delivery but that was 2 weeks ago. Installer left a mess which we had to clean up. Product is good but they need to improve customer service a lot. Also, be careful they write your credit card number with expiry date on the quote/invoice.

Beautiful sheer curtain and service – I ordered a linen sheer and pelmet for my daughters bedroom HOS had a great range to choose from and were competitively priced . The curtains look gorgeous. I will be back to finish the rest of my house!

Great family business – I just recently ordered a houseful of curtain tracks and sheer curtains from HOS. Really happy with the quality and service. The quote was very competitive out of several companies. Great family business!

Dining / Living room pelmets – My pelmets have been made beautifully and look fantastic. I needed them quite urgently as I was having overseas visitors - staff went out of their way to get my fabric,made and installed. Throughly recommend House of Stuart.

Big holes left on my wall – Extremely disappointed!!!! Dreadful customer service from House of Stuart. Appalling installation. The old blinds were ripped down leaving large parts of plaster missing across the top of the window in my kitchen. They also said they would take away my old blinds but instead I found them dumped behind my shed!!! Never returned my calls & was one week late to install the blinds! The worst $1000 I have ever spent! Do not use this company!!!!

Worst customer service ever – I have been very disappointed by the terrible customer service I received from House of Stuart. They did not return calls, one set of curtains took 15 weeks to make (promise delivery date was 6 weeks). Lorraine was rude, never apologised at any stage of the process, never initiated contact to explain the reasons for the delay. Overall, not a good experience at all.

Appalling product, installation, service and accounting methods – A: On 22/10/13 I accepted the quote for roller blinds and paid 50% deposit by Credit Card. Without notifying me the company debited my Credit Card the final 50% balance on 19/11/13 but blinds were not installed until 3/12/13. Upon installation 3/12/13 the company debited a further 50% from my Credit Card without notifying me. (So had overcharged… Read more

me $820.50). These charges were not seen by me until much later when I checked my monthly statement.

It took 2 months for this company to acknowledge the overcharge after many emails and to finally refund it.

INSTALLER: 3/12/13 Attached brackets & screws horizontally through top of sliding door frame, so sliding door could not be opened. Installer dropped another blind & chipped wooden painted window sill, breaking the right wheel housing of blind. He then installed a narrow blind across widest glass panel in another sliding door & the wider blind across the narrower glass panel, so a 3cm gap let in the sunlight.

MANUFACTURING: 2 window blinds and 1 sliding door blind had many large vertical puckers across their width.

Bottom rods were too wide so they scraped paint off skirting boards when blinds were pulled up/down. One bottom rod tilted at an angle (not on horizontal). Winder chains were a mix of white and metallic on all blinds in same room. ( I had chosen Metallic).

SERVICE: Faulty blinds were taken away for correction, with long periods between. There were 5 attempts at correction in total over 2014. Some faults were corrected but each time blinds came back still puckered in a worse manner. At end of July I requested a full refund for blinds, stating that it is clear it is beyond your company's ability to correct these faults. The Manager of House of Stuart agreed to refund for blinds & cost of repair of sliding door: $2643 total. After many emails and phone calls during August, I was given many excuses and the refund had not been made by end August. I had to contact Consumer Protection in early September, who then obtained the full refund for me in mid-September.
