arranged everything for us and the upgrade only cost $83 as it was on special at the time.

It was money well spent, as the 8.5 seems to have a much greater capacity than the .5kg increase would indicate. The bowl seems around 20-25% larger, and we do significantly fewer loads a week. It also has 2 filters and cleans the clothes better, with less tangling. The only disadvantage of the new model is that the automatic water-level takes an eternity to complete.

I have a theory about why some Samsung machines caught on fire, which is just a guess, but I'll share it here. I think the problem is that the automatic water level setter is calibrated with a goal of maximising the water efficiency rating, and the machine does not put in enough water for the load, causing the motor to work harder than it should. So I'd advise you to set the level manually.

A couple of caveats but seems to be good – I would prefer a simple white machine but this seemed to be a bit better built than most and had reasonably good reviews . furniture coaster to get it level . Shiny black top along with the glass is a fingerprint magnet . I seriously don't understand the point of a glass lid . Who gets their giggles watching their cloths wash .

Pros : Lint filter seems to work well . Quiet as far as washing machines go . Easy to operate , I didn't have to read the manual but I am a male :) Hasn't broken down yet but it's only been two weeks . I'll rerate when it does .

5 Years later : Still works like the day we bought it but has developed one annoying fault . The lid sensor seems to be a bit dodgy in that you have to close the lid a couple of times before it will agree it's actually shut and decides to start . An occasional problem and not a deal breaker , been very happy . Never once had to clean the inside and it still looks like new although I have scrubbed out the lint filters a few times . The black top is indeed a dust magnet and I will never buy another appliance that is gloss black but otherwise very happy .

Nice Machine, Not Just At MASTERS – Had it a couple of months now, nice machine, easy to learn to use. I use the delicate cycle for general washing so my clothes aren't all tangled up at the end. mentioned only available at MASTERS, I thought this too and went to buy one from my local masters store at $880 but they had run out, and suggested I drive to another store, but it was a bit far away. An online search through various local stores didn't show this model at all but I rang around and asked if they stocked it. Retravision (Stockroad, Oconnor, Perth) my local store said they didn't stock it but can get it in, quoted me $750 so I went in put a deposit and I had it within 2 weeks, very happy.

So, just because you can't find it listed anywhere but masters, give your local whitegoods dealers a call and see if they can get one in for you, if they deal with Samsung machines (they all do I guess) they may be able to get one for you and surprise you on price.

clean. a bit of wear on the bottons but they are still very functional. im happy with the purchase its already been trouble free for 5 years. il see if i can get another 5 years out of it.

Best washing machine I ever had! – Very easy to use. It has many options for the washing cycles and washing the clothes clean as I’m very happy with the difference loads to high wash to low wash if I need to pause it I can add more clothes and change the water levels.  Show details

happening. The smell is still there and apparently (according to them) that is normal in a washing machine. I have never had a smell in the 3 previous washing machines I have had and no one else purports to having a smell in theirs.

Customer service is a farce. They basically do not believe you with your problems and I have had to fight hard to have a service person to come out.

TANGLES CLOTHES LIKE CRAZY!!!. clothes come out in a tangled ball...always reminds me of Christmas lights..So annoying because they come out all wrinkled. And the clothes softener doesn't work, the liquid just stays in the compartment and doesn't get released into the rinse water. Also the machine never seems to choose the correct water level, so I have to change it manually.

I would not buy this machine again, my cousin bought a Speed Queen and loves loves loves it!

Not as good as I had hoped for:( – I am constantly having to untangle all of my clothes once the wash is finished. become tangled together. Sometimes I find the clothes need to be rewashed as they do not appear clean. On the plus side it is nice and large, runs quietly and I thought the lack of agitator would be a bonus but I am not happy with the overall way the clothes are entangled by the end of the wash. I have never experienced this problem before with any type of washing machine.

great large machine – I really love this machine, it cleans the clothes and rinses them well. I love the delay end feature. I get my load ready so it is washing just before I get home from work and it's ready to hang out and hasn't been sitting there all day. TOP TOP LOADER – I have had this washing machine for 3 years and it has been great it has tunes that tell you what part of the cycle it is in and cleans the clothes very well.If I had to buy another machine a Samsung would be top of the list for me.Overall this is a TOP top loader.  Show details

stretching out seams and making holes in them so this is a massive relief. It has never let us down and I would be happy to buy the exact same model if we had to replace it.

Great Clever Machine – We wanted this washer (well my wife did) for ages before we actually bought it. We were put off for a while when Samsung went through its phase of bad reliability. That was resolved and we went ahead and bought this. It washes beautifully and has lots of clever washing options. Its so quiet I have to check that its on sometimes and looks nice in the laundry. Love It Great Washer – We really enjoy this Samsung washer. I love the see through top and it does a really excellent job of cleaning. It's quiet when it runs even during the spin cycle and makes a pleasant tune when its done. Water use is not bad for its size. It can also do very small loads if required and I often do just that. I love this machiene – We have large family 4 kids plus mum and dad. This beauty is a god send purchased a few years ago and still running strong. Handles all my families laundry linen etc. Have a mutitude of settings really easy to pull out filters and clean. mine was actually dropped during a move once nd still works perfectly great for large families.A++  Show details

Good machine – I use this machine a lot and it has been pretty realiable. I have only had it break down once when one of the small hoses came off. Luckily it was easy to fix. Really like the magic filters, they are fairly easy to clean. Would recommend this machine .  Show details

Great washer – Bought this washer about a year ago and it is still going very strong. I have a family of 4 and we shove quite a lot in there and it handles it perfectly fine. Takes more clothes than you think! – This is a very good washing machine. We originally had another Samsung machine that actually broke, but they replaced it under warranty with this model. Very nice looking model as well with stainless steel, but the bit I like is that even though it is advertised as 8.5kg, I feel like it holds way more. Big and good for family – Good and strong for family of 4 and over. Clothes come out fine. Good still after 2 years now using it. Sometime the business shirts and scarfs will caught up together a bit trouble. But overall it's one of our best since. Been the best washing machine I've had – It is great with clothes dedicates and wool for u have setting you can choose as to what you have in it . Great Machine – It is the best washing machine I have ever had and I've had quite a few. Cleans beautifully, fairly quiet, brilliant lint trap, very efficient water wise. Was wary of the exploding Samsung story, but nothing to worry about – Got this machine cheap while they were clearing out their stocks to try and salvage their industry name during the exploding washer saga. The machine is mint, water efficient and cleans well. Is not the quietest machine going and can knock around a little, but after all it is agitating (usually) a huge swash of clothes. Works fine for me – It does a good work in cleaning and rinsing my daily clothes. I haven't noticed any problem related to tear-out of cloth. Great washing machine – This washing machine has many great features. It has 5 different wash settings and a tub cleaning setting too. It has a hot water and cold water setting and an impressive 'air turbo' setting which puffs air in while it spin dries for an extra dry spin! Excellent machine – Purchased this machine in March, 2017 and it has performed beyond my expectations to date. I like the easy way Samsung have taken out the complexities of which cycle to choose. Just load the clothes in, add detergent, tap a couple of buttons and walk away. My new washingmachine – My new washingmachine is brilliant . It does not make so much noise and did clean my cloths properly. Very good washing machine – Picked up two of these from Harvey Norman. One for upstairs and another for downstairs. Can't complain has done the job so far. Very compact and looks good as well.
