Best bang for buck naked – This is the best bang for buck second hand 1000 naked available. Bulletproof motor with a mix of comfortable cruising attitude with the ability to smash the corners like a sports bike. Mine has a two brothers exhaust which sounds mean and gets looks. Detuned R1 motor with heaps of top end grunt, guaranteed to scare. Over 8000rpm lean forward or… Read more
you wont keep the bike down. 0-100 in around 2.7 secs. If you want a standout weekend ride and don't want to break the bank this is the bike.
Good weekender – Sold the XJR1300 after 93,000 bulletproof kilometers. Bought a leftover 2014 FZ1n in 2016 with zero klm on the clock. One year in with 10,000-ish klm on the clock it has been a great weekend toy, good for day runs up too 400km but gets pretty uncomfortable towards the end of the day. Handles extremely well, you can push it through corners at… Read more
stupid speeds.
Probably belongs on the track though as none of the power is really usable until you reach 6000 to 8000 rpm in 1st gear by which time you are already exceeding everything except highway speed limits.
The only let downs are the total lack of acceleration off the mark ( bogs down and goes nowhere till the aforementioned 6000rpm mark) and track style seat that offers no comfort.
This is a top bike, Yamaha best kept secret – I have owned my FZIN from new for a couple of years now. I love it. I don't tour with it just use it for Sunday blasts of around 150 - 200 miles. Beyond this range I am knackered and need a lie down. I guess you can tour with it, but not for me. Some reviews have reported vibrations through the handle bars but I can honestly say I have not… Read more
experienced this. The bike has good build quality, is stable and behaves itself when fully committed into corners. I've seen off top sports bikes on the A and B roads. Its a perfect bike for me, but I guess its what you want from a bike. Tank range about 120 miles. Kept everything as standard. Happy days.
Great bike can sit on it all day if you get a gell seat – So easy to ride bought a r1-07 mate used it for a weekend didn't wont to give it back rode me mates aprillia it felt so much better up wright fell so I sold the r1 bought the fz1n a lot cheaper than a aprillia what a great bike it turns and feels so easy to ride hasn't got too much down low but when you hit 7-8 rpms hang on but I felt the r1 much… Read more
the same but if you don't hang on too the bars you will slide off the back when you reach 130-140 the wind will try to chuck you off at 100-110 wind buffer seems to be fine but any faster it sucks will buy screen might help so great fun bike never going back to full on sports
Best Bike i have ever owned – The FZ1N i used to ride to work every day and on the weekend travel up the freeway in to melbourne along the hume which is about 70kms for me. After all that it still never misses a beat and is comfortable for the long distances but with some much power and fun along the windy roads if i take the back way. What a fun and powerful bike and great handling as well. power, handling and reliability it does vibrate a little
Simply fantastic – I do not profess to be an "expert" on motorbikes but this bike is definitely the best bike I have ever owned. The performance and the quality are unquestionable. The price is also reasonable considering the refinement you get on the bike. The only challenges I can see to owning this bike is holding on to it when it "launches" and holding… Read more
on to your driver's licence, also when it launches :-) Great performance, looks smart, comfortable to ride and well refined. No room to carry anything
Awesome fun, but a little impractical – Keep in mind I am a motorcycle commuter and ride almost daily, so my cons below will reflect issues a commuter might be faced with (rather than a weekend rider). In saying that, this bike is very fun! Very comfortable! Very fast! I'm glad I bought it, but for my purposes I might choose a more practical bike next time. More detail in my Pros and… Read more
Cons below. Very fast (0-100 in roughly 3 seconds). Very comfortable. Looks fantastic. Very heavy, I have dropped it twice because of the weight, and if your bike is facing downhill but you want to roll uphill a bit, good luck! It has no bolts for a topbox mount and needs a $180+ custom bracket just so you can mount a topbox. Very thirsty (twice as thirsty as my old xv250 virago). The side stand is too long and if the ground is not perfectly flat it often feels like the bike will fall over. My side stand has been shortened and it's still too long.
Best fun with clothes on!! – Without a doubt, this new FZ1N is the best bike I have ever owned. Tail tidy, bar end mirrors, PC5, Yoshi pipe etc makes this beast stand out from the rest. It lacks a little in the low end compared to a Ducati Monster 1100, but far exceeds in every other way. Once you are avove 5000rpm, you had better hold on because its a completely different… Read more
machine once it opens up... Love it!!! comfort, handling, ease of parts, servicing costs, a little weak below 5000rpm, but this is good for my wife to ride it... so no real cons.
Bang for your Bucks – Excellent real world bike , super sport performance without the pain, of clip on handlebars at low speeds. Good enough in std trim to satisfy anyone for road use. Comfortable , Good brakes and std suspension with plenty of adjustment . A few simple mods, transforms it into a rocket , Power Commander , slip on , smaller front sprocket , and a… Read more
dyno tune gets me over 140 hp at the rear wheel , yet still tractable enough to ride daily at legal speeds wet or dry.
Track days only place to really get it to stretch its legs.
Excellent Value for money .
After 5 years on a Ducati , is Heaven !
Looks Ugly , Sucks fuel quicker than my Electricity Smart Meter !
Excellent – I love this bike. It's my first naked bike after years of riding Suzuki GSX-R's.It's nimble in traffic and low speed situations and is great for hitting the twisties. It's very comfortable and it goes like stink. It really is an upright R1. The bike handles well, is excellent in manoeuvring through traffic, looks awesome and goes really well.… Read more · 1
These bikes are easily modified for more power very easily. There are also a ton of bling bits and accessories to personalise your bike Lack of low down power and the gearing is bit too tall for a naked bike.
A 16 tooth front sprocket helps though.
Excellent – You can use this bike at wide range of use. Touring, track, sneaking around the city, etc. i think it is worthy of purchase, if you want to have many kind of experience of motorcycle at low cost, and also if you like this bike's design. neutral handling, useful engine feeling(~4000rpm:gentle,5000rpm~:exciting), affordable price, parts… Read more · 1

Excellent – I have owned over twenty sports bikes in my life so far, including a Kawasaki ZX12R 2007,a Yamaha R1 2007,I can only say this bike is a credit to Yamaha, its my best bike by far. Black with ABS etc. Simply Awsome.Power,Sound,Looks,Handling,Brakes, its got the lot! But you must get it in black its stunning!
Excellent – Feel sorry for yourself, that if you do not buy this superior piece of motorcycle artistry: As it is the most ambitious motorcycle that YAMAHA has ever built.. Once they are gone, they are gone: So comes your tears, for not having owned one...
