Id give them a negative star if i could. We booked 2 return flight with them. The first one was from Sydney to Ho Chi Minh on Good friday. I was fine. For the second one, we spent nearly AUD700 for two tickets from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang with VietJet on Easter Monday for my boyfriend’s birthday trip to Hoi An. We booked a 12:30 PM flight and arrived at 10:00 AM to be safe. Instead, we ended up stuck in a nightmare.

First, the flight was delayed to 3:10 PM with no prior notice. I didn’t receive an email until 12:40 PM — by then, we were already at the gate. At 3:10, they called a different flight. Ours kept getting pushed: 5:10 PM, 6:00 PM, 7:00 PM.

We finally boarded at 8PM. We were just waiting on the plane at this point. To top it all off, the pilot himself told us that he had been waiting with the plane since 5:00 PM, ready to go. The real reason for the chaos? VietJet recently switched from outsourced ground handling to in-house, and it’s been causing daily delays and disasters because they are clearly not prepared for the change.

Nothing was offered to us, not even a snack. It finally took off at 9:30 PM — more than 9 hours late — and landed at 10:50 PM. But it didn't end there.

At midnight, we were still waiting at the airport. Why? Because VietJet lost my luggage.

When I spoke to the staff at Lost & Found, she simply shrugged and said there was nothing she could do — because she hadn’t been given any information either.

This wasn’t just a delay — it was a full systems failure, with zero communication, no apology, false excuses, and now, missing luggage.

They ruined our day, my partner's birthday and now they’ve left us stranded without our belongings.

Avoid VietJet like the plague. If you have to fly them, give yourself a 24-hour buffer and prepare for the worst. Honestly, take a sleeper bus — it’ll be more reliable.

It should be not allowed to operate!! It is more than a scam and we will never fly VietJet again!!
