Budget and Fantastic – I had never used this airline before or even heard of it. I was looking to get from London to Perth and flights were over $2500 AUD. I found a really cheap flight from Amsterdam to Jakarta with Xiamen Airline via 6hour stop over in China Xiamen for $950.

For the long haul flight i didn't get to choose a meal option but the next flight I could summit online. The website platform isn't every mobile user friendly which seem dodgy and you get a heap on emails in Chinese regarding health declarations, just get yourself a QR code even if your in transit. I just put in airports address to get through Xiamen airport, it was easy enough just need a screenshot of the code.

No fresh food allowed even in transit as you have to go out and then into international area. Hot and cold water refill station throughout the airport so bring yourself some cup noodle and a coffee packet for your 6 hours layover.
