HI Elaine, thanks for your response, its hard to know what's exactly happened however, a mouldy seal is usually caused by a bacteriological build-up in your machine due to poor cleaning. It really is that simple and, all too often, it is caused by incorrect detergent use.

Only using solely liquid detergents, liquid tablets, colour only powders (or liquid) as well as most of the “alternative” products which do NOT contain any bleach, and do not remove any bacteria effectively. Try doing a regular maintenance wash and if this doesn't fix the problem please call the Arisit service team. I am positive we can help you.

Many Thanks,

Arisit Team

We hate this machine our machine is 3 years old it cost us $1800.00 new , in the 3years it is smelly & mouldy door seal that has to be replaced at $270.00 , We have tried cleaning this machine seal on a number of times, with no luck .

And apart from all this our machine leaks water to the bottom of the cabinate, the seal at the bottom of the door has 3 holes in it that drains water to the back of the seal, the seal was manufactured with the 3 holes in it and this is the problem with the Mould and water leaking, as the wall on the seal at the back is below the water level and the seal is only held on to the machine by a spring wire which is not water tight.

The bottom of our cabinet is very severely rusting, that the rust is bubbling and most of the paint has fallen off, with thick rust exposed..

Yes, Ariston did help me with my machine. I received a new seal and I just had to get someone to install it. But this works. Every time you do a load of washing or have finished washing for the day, I wipe inside the seal and around it and leave a cloth at the bottom to soak residue water and NEVER close the door of machine. It's a pain as we have a very narrow laundry buuut, It's worth it as Yay!!!!! no smell/mould.I was also told to make sure you air the room always.I can assure you that I'm having success. Oh, one other thing. Don't use lanolin type fabric softeners as they also cause a mould problem. I use Earth Choice. No lanolin. Was also told to put half a bottle of vinegar thru on hottest wash setting every month or so if using cold water wash.I don't do this. Hope this helps
