three times from my grooming table onto a tile floor, they're still going strong and I still love them. Buying the second battery was a total waste of money for me as I only groom my own four dogs and the clippers still show a full charge after all four are finished. In fact they only need a slight recharge after the third session with all my dogs - that's 12 clips with the battery indicator light on the bottom showing 2 bars instead 3 bars which is full charge. I believe this is outstanding performance. After I dropped them the first time (well knocked them right across the room to be more accurate) the blade release catch was jammed and I thought I'd killed them; but hubby managed to get everything clear and working again and they haven't missed a beat since despite a further two mishaps. This says a lot about build quality IMO - I've bought a bigger grooming table now, so they should be safe from further abuse into the future. Whilst I do mostly use the high speed, as with any two speed clippers the lower speed is handy for working gently through any matting (armpits mostly). I DO think that at this price point they should come with some kind of hard plastic or zip up fabric case, rather than being told in the instructions to put them away in the (cardboard) box they came in - it doesn't look very professional in the grooming room and getting the cardboard flaps to go back correctly is a pain; it also takes up a lot of room. Fortunately I kept the Andis soft case when I sold off my old corded clippers and they fit in there nicely; but as I said before, for what you pay I would expect a better storage solution. I've recommended these clippers to all my "home-grooming" friends and all of them love their Opals as much as I love mine. In summary: highly recommended for both home groomer and professional as the build quality is outstanding, battery life amazing and clip results as good as it gets IMO.

Absolutely great clippers, cut really well – I have 3 little dogs, who constantly need clipping. They cut extremely well and have cut my grooming hours down, so much quicker. They are really easy to use. They have certainly paid for themselves already, a few times over.
