The Only One That Works – I have a 80cm Samsung TV in my bedroom and ever since I got it I have been trying to find an indoor TV aerial that would work and give a decent… Read more

picture and sound. I tried all sorts of things from "bunnies ears" to fancier things that claimed to be the best thing. None of them worked. Then I got this thing - Bingo ! - most of the time a great picture and sound for all of the channels. It took a bit of careful positioning but only occasionally does the picture drop out briefly. It's not expensive - about $40, and is my saviour. I suspect that the secret is that it is amplified. Anyway, I am real happy - I can now watch the Friday night footie in bed !

Fantastic Car Cigarette Port Charger – Until now I have been buying car cigarette lighter power extensions from eBay, I have always been unhappy with them, the connector was always of low… Read more

standard and very and I mean very thin, I always thought they could not be rated for any sort of power consumption.

So every now and again I have a thought and this I thought there must be more options and I want to see them before buying, so I took myself to Jaycar Electronics to check out what they had, I was so happy I did, I think I did a jig of happiness from one end of the store to the other.

I brought a PowerTech 3-way with USB power, it has 2 times 2.4A and 2 times 1A which should take care of my charging problems not to mention I can mount 3 lighter plugin charges if needed, and the power cord it is so thick I could tow my Pajero with it if needed.

One last touch that I also think great, it has a voltage meter in the plug, very informative if something is going wrong with the car electrical system.

If anybody needs extra power outputs in their car this is well worth the cost and I highly recommend it.

Decent instructions may have helped! – Had to exchange the 1st HUD. Read 80klms when I was still, kept switching off and was deemed faulty No instructions on installing the screen nor any… Read more

tips on how to select the correct position. The user manual was basic in such small print it is nearly impossible to read. (Chinglish). Guy at Jaycar was helpful but he too was baffled by the first one I got. The scrolling button is cheap and the unit is hard to position as the button has to be the windscreen side and is hard to get to. The sticky silicon flat holder is useless with a dash mat so it would have to been better sold with Velcro. All in all I wasn’t overly impressed. The shaded hood doesn’t work well on flattish dashes.

NEXTTECH Dash Camera- internal Li Po battery is the weak link – After a accident, I procured a NEXTECH 2K GPS Dash Camera with rear ( cube) camera. Previously I used a NEXTTECH 1080p GPS Dash Camera- but found… Read more

after about 10 months the internal Lithium battery progressively lost capacity(voltage) until the camera continuously reset and became useable. JayCar replace it since I like the camera. Then again after about the same time it progressive became unusable again due to the internal Lithium progressively becoming low capacity again. Jaycar replace it again- then after several more months the third camera also went the same way. This time I was happy to retire the NEXTTECH 1080p GPS Dash Camera- about 2 half years at $150. Good Value overall excluding the messing around.

In December 2023 I bought a more expensive ( $309). NEXTECH 2K GPS Dash Camera with rear ( cube) camera. It is now May 2024- and it too is now giving erratic behaviors and the Lithium internal battery is progressive becoming the internal weak link again. Jaycar are going to replace it again, but this is a much more expensive camera ( $309). The internal battery been the weak link will soon be a thing of the past.. https://www.europarl.europa.eu/news/en/press-room/20230609IPR96210/making-batteries-more-sustainable-more-durable-and-better-performing “”Designing portable batteries in appliances in such a way that consumers can themselves easily remove and replace them;..”” I suggested to Jaycar to rent the unit for a few years, I would be happy to do the rent idea rather then the inconvenience of accepting the fact the equipment (internal Li battery)will cease working well short of the warrantee period. Friends have purchased similar Das Cams online (Chinees Web Site.. very cheap), but when they fail they put up with the loss of the Dash Cam since they were cheap.

This product is total crap – Bought this QM8046 Response reversing camera and had it fitted to my car and caravan. The Useless thing only works when stationary and blacks out… Read more

when moving and the colour and picture are very poor at the best of times. Total waste of money. And JCAR didn't want to know about it.
