Yes it is cheaper, but is it worth it when you consider how easily the screen damages – At the time of purchase this was an affordable spec upgrade on my trustworthy older Asus. The colours were vibrant and found it to be user friendly,… Read more

it offered many of the specs at a cheaper price, a saving of between $50 and $200 at the time and has not skipped a beat since purchase. On the negative, it is cheaper and therefor less sturdy, I felt the constant need to protect it, even so the screen scratch's/marks easily so keep the kitty away and any other object that may accidently come into contact with it (yes, it is that flimsy). A couple of years on and the time has come for a replacement I love my MSI and the old Asus is still a great emergency monitor, so I will be looking at an upgraded MSI or Asus. No... I would not look at purchasing another Acer unless they work on the flimsy screen which really needs to be placed in a glass cabinet to protect.

This monitor is pretty good – I have it as a part of Costco buying: "Cluvens Scorpion Cockpit With ACER 49 Monitor". This monitor greatly improve my gaming experience, so far I… Read more

have tried playing Genshin Impact, Sim 4, and I am totally happy with the picture quality. It already has the built-in speaker but not so great, I would rather use a good bluetooth speaker instead. It has HDMI and DVI ports, which is convenient for connection.

Me old Acer finally gave up and gave me the dreaded black screen after 8 years of usage. I am not a gamer, just a basic user for work and the kids… Read more

will use on occasion for their game. At office work the service guy recommended me this model SH272UE, I like it because of the 3 years warranty been offer and at $387 I thought it would suit my usage.

Very easy to set up, the only tricky bit was working out how to fit the screen. The manual was very small to make out the detail. I also like how the screen can be tilt, swivel 360 degree and rise up and down. The screen is very light and thin, another feature which I was after.

The colour produce is very sharp and detail from YouTube clip I tested. Happy with the purchase for the price I paid.

recognise the correct display resolution. I am wasting my time every 8 to 10 restart. it is the last time I buy ACER.

Cannot do separate HDMI and audio – This monitor seems fine unless you're trying to use both the audio-input socket and the HDMI video port. For some reason, the designers appear to… Read more

have assumed that if you're using the HDMI port, then you'd be using HDMIs audio capability. If your PC is using separate audio and video (perhaps because you've added a separate high performance video card, or just because PC is a bit old), then this monitor is not for you.

Edit, I switched to a different PC, and the monitor would not even show the BIOS screen, saying instead "input not supported". Even my ten year old TV was perfectly happy to display the output from this PC. I did eventually get it to work after fiddling with BIOS settings (with a different monitor connected).

After all that, the sound is the wimpiest possible, with both the PC volume and the monitor volume needing to be turned up to maximum.

This monitor is such a pain - I will never buy another ACER monitor.

Faulty Display – The issue with my monitor is related to faulty display panel. At first you will not notice, but if you see closely any fonts, you will see the fonts… Read more

are not clear. Its hard to describe, but the fonts are not rendering smoothly. Initially I thought it was windows 10 issue but then it gives similar display with windows 7 or connected to other computer. The issue was identified within 1 year of manufacture date and raised with Acer as flickering issue, but they don't owner warranty without invoice. I created the defect in the attached image. This effect creates horizontal pattern on the whole screen which can be seen only when you see closely. If you are using this monitor for watching movie or playing games you may not notice but for non gaming work it hurts eye.

Bought it a couple of months ago and already broken – Bought a custom gaming pc for $3200 which included a $399 Acer Nitro curved monitor. Noticed after a few weeks the lower trim that hides all the… Read more

wiring to the screen, was lifting up and and I’m worried that’ll let water, dirt get inside and damage the screen. I use what the store has told me to use on the monitor screen to clean it (laser screen cleaner and a microfibre cloth). I had sent it to back to Acer 3 times and this time they said “such you have used a cleaning solution on the monitor it’s now deemed unwarrantable”. So what was the point of PLE saying to use this cleaning solution and now deem it unwarrantable…

I am really upset at Acer. Shame on you. This is clearly a manufacturing fault and is clearly under warranty and is warrantable.

Stay away! – Hi, I sell and service PC's and have done for 20 years. In that time I have never seen such a bad 'stand' on any monitor. It is a cheap piece of… Read more

tubular'ish plastic that attaches to the base and screen. It has no rigidity and if you go to change the brightness, for example, the screen bobs around side to side, if your desk or table isn't 100% solid rigid the screen will move with keystrokes. Literally, the worst monitor I have purchased in 20 years plus, and I buy a fair amount as part of my business. Buy anything other than this monitor. Acer Australia says it's an entry-level monitor when you discuss it with them as if cheaper Acer monitors aren't expected to be stable or meet expectations. Based on this experience and the attitude or the corporate response I received I would suggest it may now as of 2021 be sensible to look at other brands, the standards are dropping at Acer.
