Great Compact device with minor flaws – There have been plenty of reviews left online for this device that out of the box performs well. I'd like to just briefly highlight a few minor… Read more

issue that should be taken into consideration. It's not waterproof without a large case that restricts some of the gimbals features. I also felt I needed to baby it from extra knocks or the environment in general ie dust which meant I didn't take it out with me as much as I should have when on holiday - preferring my mobile phone camera on some excursions just to be safe while others in the group have action cameras that were more robust. In the end a great vlogging (point to self) camera and set pieces. But its no action cam nor one for pulling out quickly and configuring its setup at a moments notice but produces excellent stable videos.

This is the latest release in the Osmo Action series released by DJI. The camera is slightly larger and taller than the previous Osmo Action 5 and… Read more

comes with some upgrades to settings and performance.

It has a larger square sensor with ability to change the aperture to better control how much light passes through the sensor of the camera.

It can also shoot in 8K at 30 frames per second if needed.

It shoots 1:1 square so one recording can be used for YouTube in landscape or portrait for TikTok.

It has 360 degree horizon balance up to 4K at 60 frames per second.

It also has a built in mic but an additional 2 additional external transmitters can be used and if you have one from another DJI product ( DJ Mic Mini or DJ Mic 3) they are compatible via Bluetooth.

The Osmo Action 6 will not fit in protective cages made for earlier models or any custom filters for earlier models so bare this in mind if you are considering upgrading as this will add to the base cost.

The camera is waterproof up to 20 metres without a waterproof case and up to 60 metres with the official DJI case. Without the official waterproof case it may not withstand prolonged exposure to salt water or high impact waves. For this reason I also bought be the DJI Osmo Action 6 Diving Accessory Kit for use in water to ensure the cameras longevity. A small cost to add extra level of protection to the more expensive camera.

The battery lasts around 4hrs when recording in lower resolutions but may only last 110 to 120 minutes shooting in 4K at 60 frames per second .

The DJI Osmo Action 6 Standard Combo comes with one extreme plus battery one dual direction quick release adapter mount one action curved adhesive mount one action curved adhesive base one locking screw one locking screw one action anti-slip pad one usb-c to usb-c PD Cable (USB 3.1) also in the box is some stickers and a very basic quick start guide and separate safety guidelines.

As usual this is a well built product from DJI and if just using for general pictures and videos and vacations the standard combo is probably all you need along with the official DJI Osmo Action 6 Diving Accessories Kit.

If you are a heavier user or content creator you may want to consider one of the other combos that will give you more batteries, a charging case and a tripod/selfie stick.

The camera has 50gb inbuilt storage but you may want additional storage so a good quality micro sd card that can capture up to 8K video could be purchased. I purchased a micro SanDisk Extreme Pro 256gb V30 XC1 3 A2 as this is what I use in other DJi camera and drone products.

Whilst the DJI Osmo Action 6 is more expensive than others on the market you are getting one of what I consider to be the best camera , for the average person, available for action or underwater filming.

Cant Use After Market Batteries - Dont Waste your Time with DJI – Cant use after market battery. Gets the "Abnormal battery alert and is unusable." Total FAIL from DJI to put software not permittitng after market batteries. Should have stayed with GOPRO.

Better than GoPro – I own GoPros, Insta360s, and now this Action 4 camera. The Action 4 is great so far. Intuitive (for someone used to these and also, after using the… Read more

insta360 I’m pretty sure everything else seems intuitive), easy to download footage, visuals are clean and clear, pretty little camera. The packaging has left room for improvement as the manual is not easy to understand; the camera comes with some other little pieces of plastic and I have no idea what they do because the manual doesn’t say. Not knowing what to do with these other pieces, I put the camera in the water anyway and it was waterproof out of the box. Whew!

discreet. The magnet mounting system is particularly useful. The ability to wear the camera without having to where a full harness and then having the ability to quickly transfer to another mount is extremely useful. There are some limitations of this camera, the unit will only hold external SD cards with attachment units, like the battery unit, there is a decent amount of internal storage however. The front element is large and not replaceable and therefore could be easily scratched, which is not ideal for a supposed action camera. However, a case is available to give further protection and mitigate this. Overall a good buy for someone who needs a small versatile camera with a solid build, but I wouldn't be as rough with it as some of its direct competitors

action camera as the magnetic mount does not like vibration. Could improve: Have a find my device feature. Have a last seen feature like dji drones have (the action camera is linked to your phone in your pocket so this would be easy to add). Have a better mounting bracket or optional brack or lanyard hole at least. Have infrared light option for capturing night footage.

DJI OSMO Pocket 3 Installation and configuration - typical cheap chinese – SO i bought the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 camera based on the reviews. This review is about installation and activation. The DJI is meant to be THE premium… Read more

gimbal 4K camera on the market.... the reason why i bought it HOWEVER, it reeks of cheap chinese gadget all over, especially when trying to get this camera activated.

THe USER MANUAL... ZERO * out of 5.. the installation guide has nothing to do with getting this camera activated... and when you scan the two app QR codes, one of them is a DJI Store App... and the first thing it asks you (without) even trying to purchase anything is your credit card details, so obviously not a gift for any child or person without a credit card. You get the app installed you have to fumble your way around the camera... turn it on then scroll to the language you are familiar with.. nothing in the documentation.. then by chance, out of waiting in frustration it asks you to scan the QR code on the screen.... which one does, not because we know what the outcome is, but because there is nothing else left to do... now thinking its going to take one to the Play Store to download and an APp that has passed Google quality and malicious control... NO... you have to download the APK which for all intentional purposes can and may contain malicious code, which your phone warns you before you give it permission.... So you've just spend $1000 on this camera, and you have no other option but in blind faith to 'accept'. The app finally gets installed on the mobile phone.. DJI MIMO.. the app you just installed is more ADVERTS than anything else. Sort of reminds you of the TEMU or ALIEXPRESS App. They try to be very 'Apple' but it just reeks of 'try-hard' ... they are more interested in your credit card and what they can sell you than to get you started, connected and on your way recording video... which is why you bought the damn the device in the first place. At the end of the day, one just has to fumble thru the App to get sorted out.. no indication of Bluetooth or WiFi settings, how to connect cable etc...

As far as the ACTUAL camera is concerned... the quality of the finish seems very good. HOwever, I cannot tell you the quality or ease of the LightCut App.... but am sure it will ask for Credit Card details to be able to use it in full.. will update this review as time progresses.. for now. Installation and configuration is no different to any cheap Temu or Aliexpress camera... disappointing. I give it half a star out of 5.

DJI Pocket II ( PII ) - Don't buy one :( – I have been wanting a "gimbal" camera since I saw the original a few years back. As someone that rides a dirt and ebike a gimbal camera is ideal. … Read more

But, as I'm not the owner of a apple phone or table I have not been able to 'activate' the PII.

Worst still is that when I turn on the phone I can see an image of me flash up really quickly and then I get the very annoying 'activate' now !!!!!!!!!!

So the camera works, but someone in .cn has decided that they need to be able to steal all of my LAN / WAN details before I can use a camera I paid $800 AUD for.

I have been back and forward with emails and forum posts which have all been about how it is my fault I cannot activate their product.

In a nutshell do not buy one and I will now not be buying a drone from DJI as well.

BTW - I have been told that I'm entitled to a full refund because it is illegal to sell a 'faulty' product in Oz.
