My Samsung ducted air conditioning system was installed as part of my home build in 2017. Recently, the system developed an E320 fault code and… Read more
stopped operating properly. This has been very frustrating because a ducted air conditioning system is a major household installation, and I expected it to last much longer without this kind of serious fault.
I contacted an air conditioning technician, and I was told that E320 is a common issue on some Samsung systems. The technician explained that the unit may be repairable, but also said there is no guarantee the same problem will not happen again in the future. That was especially disappointing to hear, because it suggests the repair may only be a temporary fix rather than a long-term solution. I then contacted Samsung Australia for support. Their response was that the system is outside the 5-year warranty period, so they would not cover it under warranty. I understand that warranties have limits, but for a built-in ducted air conditioning system, I believe consumers reasonably expect better durability and reliability than this.
What concerns me most is not only the fault itself, but the overall long-term dependability of the product. When a central air conditioning system fails with a known or common issue and even a repair technician cannot give confidence that it will remain fixed, it raises serious questions about product quality and suitability for Australian conditions.
At this stage, I am left paying for diagnosis and repairs on a system that I believe should have lasted longer. For a premium home appliance that is installed as part of the house, this is not the ownership experience I expected. Based on my experience, I would urge other buyers to carefully consider long-term reliability, repair costs, and after-sales support before choosing Samsung ducted air conditioning.

So many issues!! – I paid nearly $12,000 for my ducted system to be installed at my new property in December 2023 and I’ve had nothing but countless issues and constant… Read more
call-outs to my installer! The outside unit is so loud I’m surprised my neighbour hasn’t made a noise complaint - and considering it is supposed to be quiet as per brochure … ? The indoor unit in the roof is so loud it sounds like an aircraft sitting on the runway - no sleep in our house because of it! The temperature is not consistent upstairs to downstairs even though my installer put temp sensors in both floors! The wall controller has no functions other than mode and temperature - also not as promised via the brochure! The inverter stays on 24/7 in cool mode leaving upstairs freezing cold and downstairs boiling hot! I chose this system over the daikon system as it had more functions and seemed to be more economical - how wrong I was! I’m very very bitterly disappointed with spending so much money for a system that is totally unacceptable for the price I have paid- and I have just spent over 2hours on the phone with Samsung just to book a technician to come and inspect the system - a system that is 4 wks old!!!!
