because it’s a brand new fridge. Other times it just has the normal hum sound of a fridge. I worry if this noise will get worse over time. Otherwise, it operates as expected.

Inside looks good but the door storage isn’t very functional because the shelves have a narrow face which means bottles have to potential to fall off the shelf, especially when the door opens and closes. And it closes with a quick thud, which shakes all the bottles.

External aesthetics look great in my kitchen. The black is glossy and I don’t see any finger marks on the surface of the fridge - which is great.

Update: 1) Fridge wasn’t cooling in crisper. ChiQ were responsive and sent technician to fix. 2) Fridge noise became worse. CHiQ sent technician. Fridge was not repairable. CHiQ refunded the cost of the fridge and were helpful and easily accessible throughout this process.

that would make it unsuitable for most families. First there is not enough height between the door shelves to place a bottle or 2 litre milk container in. You have to remove one to do this. Second the smart setting set the variable side of the freezer at -7 degrees which is not cold enough to freeze anything. You have to turn the smart setting off and set the zone manually to -18 degrees if you want to use it as a freezer. Finally the door alarm can barely be heard unless you are right next to the fridge. If you are someone who has a hearing problem, like me you would not be able to hear the buzzer and would only know that the door was opened if you saw it. I cannot recommend this fridge.

isn't a big deal for me. The real problem is that the room the freezer is in is now consistently 1-2 degrees C more than previously. While it was cooling itself down initially it was so hot the room, even with the air conditioner on, felt stifling. The sides were very hot to the touch. This unit has great star ratings (as a refrigerator 5 and as a freezer 4.5 stars) but if I need to use more cooling for most of the year (I live in a very hot area) then any savings on power would be lost or worse.

The good and the bad about this fridge.

It looks stylish and modern, has glass shelves and if you are into vacuum cleaners, tit sounds like a vacuum cleaner when its running. That’s it for the good, now for the bad.

5 Star Energy rating! Boy, was I wrong and disappointed. This fridge loves to run and run and run and run. This fridge runs more than my 25 year old fridge which I replaced with this Chiq fridge.

This model has an inverter compressor with is meant to be energy efficient, well for the amount of time this fridge runs each day, I have no doubt it uses more than my 25 year old fridge.

My regret is that I should have spent a little more and bought a name brand fridge with good ratings instead of buying this energy hog.

Some examples, on the day of writing this review, its low 20’s outside, the roller shutters are down most of the way and its cool inside the house. This energy efficient fridge ran for an hour, stopped running for 23 mins then ran for another 45 min, 5 Star Energy rating?

During late Winter, early morning when it was zero degrees outside and freezing inside, the fridge ran for 30 mins, stopped for 10 mins then ran for another 40 mins. 5 Star Energy rating?

Its not uncommon for this fridge to run around 40-50mins and stop for around 20 mins. 5 Star Energy rating? And pigs fly.

have cleaned and has returned every time and thats when the marks come off. When i called they said why haven't u called sooner, i have moved 3 times in this period, stuff in storage for a period of time sustained a back injury so unfortunately i did have other things going on and i figured when i had time it was under warranty anyway. These marks return with in a couple days of cleaning every single time without fail. I have reached out to chiq as its getting beyond a joke and is not normal. I have owned many friges in my life and keep mine extremely clean. They have told me its due to cleaning maintenance not being done and its not a warranty thing also been told it dust or dirt. Customer service very rude and telling me basically its my problem. I refuse this is the case as its in the entire fridge and also the freezer. It has a 7 year warranty. After 2 days arguing they said they will send a assessor out but its not a warranty thing and I will be charged. I will never purchase the brand in anything especially after how I've been treated and possibly stuck with a health hazard fridge with an out of pocket $785.25 My email ( [Content Removed] )

I have had 2 technicians come out 3 times to fix the door/hinge and it's still faulty. The door doesn't stay open, despite their efforts the fridge is still faulty. Will never recommend CHIQ. Show details
