smart setting set the variable side of the freezer at -7 degrees which is not cold enough to freeze anything. You have to turn the smart setting off and set the zone manually to -18 degrees if you want to use it as a freezer. Finally the door alarm can barely be heard unless you are right next to the fridge. If you are someone who has a hearing problem, like me you would not be able to hear the buzzer and would only know that the door was opened if you saw it. I cannot recommend this fridge.
