and a known one by the manufacturer. Not sure if their quality has improved or they still only make things to last the duration of their warranty I will be investigating this further as consumers should not be taken advantage of if they are not in the financial position to spend big on whitegoods

I actually bought my fridge through appliances online who are a fantastic company and we’re very helpful when my chiq fridge stopped working after 4 months but chiq customer service was atrocious. Every person I spoke to or tried to speak to was extremely rude cocky and unhelpful. End result I was left with a fridge that doesn’t work. Door shelf broke and fell off in the first year, freezer drawer handle split within 6 months. Seems to generate ice in the back somewhere which then falls down the back to the evaporator which is annoying. Low quality. Cant recommend based on our experience.

unreliable and temperamental – Lasted just over 3 yrs then stopped working, started again, froze, control panel stopped, started again, control panel not working, freezer worked fridge froze, stopped again. DON'T BOTHER WITH CHIQ – Cheap and nasty. lasts till 6 weeks out of the 5 year warranty and the fridge poops itself while the freezer half works fine. no local fridge mechanics will touch it. had to go buy another fridge as the retailer said chiq would not honour the warranty, tried to ring the company got the run around with them. the next it would be ringing wet. warm zones in it and all. noisy. hard to clean. cheap nasty seals that squish and are hard to clean. top door shelf is uselessly small. door creaks under weight of items. milk freezes on top shelf. had screw appear from somewhere in freezer. when finally got in contact with chiq they were going to honour the warranty but after 3 days of ruined food and no working fridge i had bought a new one of a different brand and had it delivered with the chiq crap taken away. Whereas chiq would have had me wait another week to get theirs repaired - seriously who can live that long without a fridge these days?

Over complicated system of controls – After 4years of minimum use. Functions out of order. Need to be a lawyer wasting lot of time to try and correct program.a cheap fridge.a time waster.send to recycle centre Simplicity should rule.

Performance terrible, Aesthetically good – I would love to love this fridge, however since we bought it from Harvey Norman during Covid in 2020 we seem to have had nothing but issues. was a mess. We contacted Harvey Norman/CHIQ and they fixed the faulty part (promptly, they were actually awesome considering it was during covid and in Melbourne). It was fine for about a year after but in 2022 we occasionally noticed puddles of water accumulating at the base of the appliance, leaking from the fridge. Gradually this became a daily occurrence needing to lay a towel in order to collect the large amount of water. The freezer now needs to be defrosted on a regular basis too. I really like some aspects of this fridge. It was reasonably affordable, economical and has a 4 star energy rating. I love how it is easy to clean and in my opinion is better looking then some other fridges out there. Unfortunately for us, it really has not been that reliable of a product, not to mention the slipping hazard it constantly creates. It also has a tendency to get quite noisy and hot to touch, these things are completely normal as stated in the user manual (just an FYI for anyone out there wondering)

I'll definitely be looking at another brand very soon.
