Solid unit – I've used this orbital mostly for plaster sanding, and considering amount of plaster dust it's had on it I'm surprised it's still going strong. The… Read more

velcro is good and it has plenty of power for harder tasks. It is a funny shape to hang on to but you get used to it.

less dust. I gave it 5 stars, not because it is the best tool on the market but because it does well what it is designed to do and does so at a reasonable price.

Some tips if you are new to power Sanders on drywall; - use the finer included 260 sandpaper if you top coat is smooth, which it should be. The finer paper is less aggressive so you are less likely to sand back to the tape - less is more - don't press too hard, let the machine do the work, keep a enough pressure to keep it level to the surface. You can always go back and do a little more - some say do a pass on the outside then a pass on the middle, this is what I did and it worked well. - use the trigger lock, this means you can concentrate on positioning and holding the tool and that it will continue to run after you lift it off the wall, which is important for the dust extraction. - if you practice on some waste board first then do that because you need to get a feel the tool creating a suction on the board, this is what enables the vacuum of the dust. - the included sand discs are enough for 1-2 rooms

I used it on a cathedral ceiling which was tricky to learn on but made the job much easier so well worth the purchase.

3 Year Warranty – Fortunately this Ozito Belt Sander BSR-7000 comes with a 3 year warranty as after 2 sanding belts worth of course sanding, the 'Belt Tensioning… Read more

Lever' failed. Upon returning to Bunnings I received a new replacement. I based my purchase on the type and amount of my timber projects. Plus I had remaining 75x533mm sanding belts at home.

While this product is basic, e.g. no variable speed setting I did not require all the bells and whistles of operation. Belt Fitting was required on the first Ozito, yet the replacement Ozito sander it was not required as it ran beautifully. Cleaning is a must during and after usage... Best not to over heat this tool...

My initial thoughts were to purchase the (5* rated) Makita 9924DB, however upon feeling the weight I changed my mind.

[+] 3 Year Warranty Light weight Carbon Brushes are easy to DIY

[-] Belt fitting can be exasperating! Belt Tensioning Level is incredibly harder to shift in comparison to other belt sanders I've used.

Very usefull – It's a good little unit but I have found that the hook and loop pad wears out a lot quicker than I thought it should. If Ozito can work on that issue then it would be a great little power tool Show details

Detail Sands as described – I have an Ozito multi-tool that seems to do what this thing is aimed at anyway, save obviously smaller coverage in a given time. I just wanted a… Read more

little more flexibility/spare/something to also use whilst the multi-tool is doing something else.

It was not worth paying much for one as I can easily get away without it by hand if necessary / the Ozito multi-tool does so well anyway. I am just talking DIY and seldom.

Sub $40 this thing was a no brainer on price and it works. The expected wider arc than my multi-tool would make detailing that bit easier but the multi-tool is more than fine anyway, and there is no discernable difference in result to my eye.

It comes with a few 120 and 240 grit sandpapers as standard. This is generous I felt and if you need more after time (check my findings please) Diablo seem exact for replacements and come pre set up to also sit on my 93mm multi-tool pad).

Does what it says on the tin at a daft price. New to me so no clue on longevity but 5 yr instore replacement warranty I don't care either.

Only negatives are:

1. The multi is already so good for what I have used it for this adds nothing to the end result. I have used it for sanding back various paints to key for new coats / some hard woodwork and soft woodwork, but nothing that most would term fine woodworking using above 180 grit for lacquer/oil based finishes. I find 120 is plenty for paint/varnishes I use anyway.

2. Unlike at least most other tools (incl the multi-tool) the sander sheet pad is a special order, so if you do damage it then expect to pay around $22 and have a "short" wait. Over twice the price of similar items that are regular stock (e.g. their orbital sander pads/multi-tool pads)

5 stars seemed too generous with these negative aspects in mind but at the price 4 stars all the way, IMO.

girl I think but I cannot get a good, one handed grip on this sander. The holding part is way to big for me to comfortably get my hand around and hold it for longer than a minute or two without it slipping. If only they had had designed it so you could curl your fingers around it like a standard sander. If I clamp the item down or if it is a large item that won't slide, I can use both hands to hold it but, like seriously? What a silly, silly design. I have sooo many of the Ozito PXC tools but this one is a real dud for girls. :(

items under good lighting, this sander is not worth buying.

It will leave pigtail swirl marks It doesn't have enough grunt to sand it's own pigtails out The vacuum outlet is very restricted so with a shop-vac connected it will continue to collect debris causing swirl marks.

wooden benches. The small motor bogs down, eventually stalling, as I tried to sand the sharp corners off. It may be useful for model boat-building or model aircraft building using balsa or thin plywood / MDF. But anything above about 12mm and you will be cursing yourself for ever buying this. If it doesn't cope with softwood, it would have no chance with hardwoods either.

There is no resale value either, because as soon as customers realise how useless it is for typical woodworking, they will not buy it.

Save your money and buy a more respected brand with a larger motor.
