issue with any of the vehicles. Their customer service has always been excellent - their staff knows us. Occasionally they're booked out and we have to hire elsewhere, which we dread, but not their fault. We will continue to hire through them for years to come.

Poor service – Booked a truck, they took my money and sent a confirmation email. 5 minutes later I got an email saying they couldn't complete the contract. If they were unable to complete the contract why was there an email but no phone call? Chicken much? I tried to phone but the call was cut off, apparantly it was 5pm.

Commerical Van Hire – I have hired a commercial van off these guys a couple of times in the past. If I needed the van for a Saturday night they would always allow me to take it on the Friday at no extra charge and drop back on Sunday. They are a no BS company and I have been very happy with my dealings with them always.

Repeat business hires – We use this company for repeated truck hires for our business - fairly straightforward around-town work. Have always had great customer service, good availability, they remember us now and have all our details so I don't need to supply them every time, which make life so much easier. Trucks are clean and work well every time, never had an issue. Just overall a good, easy company to deal with.

Excellent Service – My wife and I hired a truck from 1300 Truckhire to move house from Cairns to Brisbane. They were the only company in Cairns that offered that service. The price was excellent because we never had to return the vehicle to there Cairns office they collected the vehicle from us in Redcliffe. The vehicle was the perfect size and had a tailgate lifter which made it easy to load the heavy stuff. The truck was nearly new and was good on fuel

terrible customer service – We hired a 4 ton panted to move house from Cairns to Adelaide. After waiting 1 hour for truck to be returned from a service on pickup day was assured truck was in perfect condition. Loaded truck over a day and half then left on our journey. started to vibrate and shudder so much the wheel nearly came out of my hands.

This was pretty scary. So I stopped to see if there was anything caught under the truck.

About 80 Kay's latter it did the same thing going over a rail line.

Overnight in Mackay and hoping it was only wind,rain and road condition causing problem. Not so, for the next 3500 kms about 30 times this shuddering and shaking would catch us unawares and nearly shake us out of the cab.

Yes we could have rang 1300 and complained but we were already slowed so much by this and had little time to meet our deadline to be in Adelaide to sign forms and pick up keys for rental and have a place to unload our furniture and have truck ready to be picked up at end of hire.

Reached destination and unloaded truck,called 1300 to let them know truck was ready, explained to person truck was ready(1300 were to fly somebody to Adelaide to pick up truck) ant told person of vibration problem. I was told the person picking up truck was a very experienced driver.

4 DAYS LATER I emailed 1300 to ask why truck was still in my driveway.Nearly 5 HOURS LATER I received an email saying they had been trying to contact me for 4 DAYS. The person who had taken my phone number had entered it incorrectly. 1300 had REPORTED TRUCK STOLEN TO CAIRNS POLICE and wanted to charge me for 4 EXTRA DAYS RENTAL PLUS AIRFARES FOR GUY THEY SENT DOWN.

I was never asked to confirm my phone number nor was I asked for my email address. If staff took my number down incorrectly, HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW.

After checking the front tyres on the truck it was clear the front tyres had been wearing badly on inside of tread.obviously wheel alignment or damaged shock absorbers were causing the vibration and shaking.

IT TOKK 1300 ANOTHR 10 DAYS TO FINALLY GET SOMEBODY HERE TO PICK UP TRUCK AND AFTER MANY EMAILS AND ME TRYING TO TELL THEM THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH TRUCK THEY STILL WOULD NOT BELIEVE ME.

WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!!!! AND STILL NO SORRY FOR ALL THE INCONVENIENCE AND ADDED BS FROM THESE PEOPLE.

ITS OFF TO COURT WE GO!!!!

To try and advise somebody of a potentially dangerous problem and to be treated the way we were was and still is disgusting and rude.

Horrendous Car Rental Service – Do Not Use this company. 1300 TruckHire are extremely shonky, underhanded and compassionateless. Nissan Patrol instead for the same price.

The owner of the company and the person who went through the paperwork with us was well aware that we were venturing up Cape York and that we would be encountering rough 4WD terrain, hence the need for a 4WD vehicle. The vehicle broke down on a deserted remote beach in Cape Melville National Park. When we rang the owner from a borrowed satellite phone due to the nearest phone network being 6 hours drive away he accused us of burning out the clutch, refused to send us a replacement vehicle or indeed anyone to pick us up. He actually hung up on us and we were stranded on the remote beach for a day and night until other travelers took pity on us and drove us out of the national park to Cooktown.

In addition to leaving us to make our own way out of the bush and having to abandon the vehicle with equipment inside he also illegally took $5000 from our credit card to cover his costs of towing the vehicle. We are currently trying to recover these costs from 1300 Truck Hire.

The vehicle in question had done 287,000 km and had never had the clutch replaced. Why hire out a vehicle when it was not fit for the intended purpose?

The rest of our holiday was ruined by the fact that we did not have a car and that we had lost a couple of days while stranded.

No duty of care was given to us by the owner or anyone at 1300 TruckHire. I would recommend not hiring their vehicles as they are mechanically unsound and unreliable.
