3 Wise Monkeys

Booked holiday in March 2025 for the following February 2026 week. Pictures in advertising and product description looked amazing. It was perfect. However on opening the door we knew pretty much straight away that there were some cleaning/house keeping issues. Bringing all food and meal prep items into dining and kitchen area the floors sounded like we were walking in a bar/pub area. They were extremely sticky. We unpacked out pantry and fridge items away were we found a dirty fridge and cupboard draws I cleaned with split items on the cabinetry. We were unable to use range hood first night and a text was sent to owner. They replied quickly and I explained the situation that we were not happy regarding the previous cleaning for our stay. There was a number of issues this is why I feel like I need to state here. The pool area was not clean, bird droppings on cushions and tumble weed all over cushions. I turned th cushions over to see it just as bad on the other side. Bottle lids left, rules clearly sate no glass by the pool. Looks like drugs were also consumed there as there was little snap lock bags around the pool. Pool cleaner shuts off quickly so does not clean for a long period of time. Microwave was extremely grotty and looks to have not been cleaned for a long long time. Main bedroom carpet had a layer of dog hair on top and when I told the owner she said it was from January. Well our booking was mid Feb so this tells me that it hasn't been cleaned between a few guest stays as their feedback reviews prior to our stay was quite a lot. Their ensuite shower leaks into bedroom and has for a while as timber is now rotting. Also a dead bug was found in the bed when we pulled back covers. Told wonder the say it's a beetle we say it's a tick. There was also a live tick or beetle located in another bedroom at the other end of the house. In that double room was not dusted and something has been splashed on walls above bed. Bunk room that had four beds seemed to have no issues Bunk bed room with two beds were very dusty, can see this on lamp globes and floor as it has floor boards. Front tv room that has tv had a rug that was also covered in dog hair and both leather grey couches have food down the cracks easily seen when no one on it. This property had a number of things wrong with it and should be fixed or addressed which I told owner about. The got the electrician in the next day along with the cleaner. However the cleaner only cleaned what she was told to clean. . Benches were al smudged so much so you could write with your finger worlds and it could be seen. Oven was filthy and agin just wiped over and smeared the glass with water cleaning product and not wiped off. Hit and miss with electric gates opening from the outside. Concerning that they have two chickens on site and when gone to check on them, there was 25 eggs just sitting there. That tells me that they haven't been checked on for a while. They gobbled down left over lettuce we were not using. So not sure how well fed they were. Cage and surrounding area appalling.

In some positive aspects. Location good in Mansfield Water pressure fantastic Ice maker outside near bbq was definitely a bonus. House was big enough for two families. Was secure Pool once clean was good to cool off in.
