Not a performance tyre – I run 225/40/18 atr sport 2 on the rear of my Lexus, dry grip is pretty bad, and wet grip is very poor and dangerous. would not consider these a performance tyre at all. I also a bad vibration over 90kms Show details

good quality. dry and wet and for aftermarket mag wheel – this tyre is not for racing. for sure. look at the price. common sense. just look like racing style. for everyday use is great grip on dry weather. very good indeed. and for the wet rainy weather. i tested it on main road speed. to wig wag the steering wheel in the rain it actually never loose control. it sticked well. and braking is good too.… Read more
consider that my car is camry hybrid. hybrid car brakes takes longer to stop as it used the brakes to charge the battery. and the tyre i use is quite wide. 235/45/18. originally is 165/60/16. so it already much heavier wheel and tyre compared to car factory original. and i checked the tyre every six month since bought it in jax. for wheel alignment. the shop never say such a thing. i mean this is really not the best tyre that triple the price. but for budget. nothing to regret about. good bang for the bucks. 2 years never have problem. one thing. i wish this tyre is not directional. so can rotate more evenly. so far done 25 000 km.
Best budget tyre around – 245/45 R18 on a 2009 Nissan Elgrand rear wheel drive. Previous tyres Continental Conti. I am comparing cheap v expensive experience on a van that weighs close to 2.5t. I'm at 35,000 and running on the ATR's with regular rotation. I have great grip in the dry and a fair grip in the wet. Balanced correctly, Highway and town use is magnificent. I… Read more
have not had an issue with uneven wear (camber correct) and they grip like anything around the corners. The van is always loaded, tyre pressure in the 40's and as far as I'm concerned, best value for money. My van is well insulated so I never get sound feedback from the road. I don't get what people are on about with bad experiences, I can only say that my next set will be the same. Where do the conti's come in I hear you say? Well, I spent the coin to put the "best" on the van, but within less than 6mths I had to buy the ATR's. Yeah, they grip. Yeah, great in the wet. But on my 2.5t beast, "crap" is an understatement and you don't always get what you pay for. For my purpose, the ATR's have proven durable, reliable and exceptional value for money. I would recommend them to any commercial van that likes a good looking tyre.
Not as bad as the rest of the reviews make out, good value – They are pretty durable, no signs of wear after some... intense driving sessions both onroad and off They are cheap especially at 245 35 r18 and grip in the wet is, passable, no better or worse than the budget Maxxis MA 510's ive had on several cars for years. Dry weather grip is suprisingly good and the tyres dont seem to heat up as quick as… Read more
the maxxis in the twisties and have a tad more grip in the rear.
I think the issues people are having with these tyres is that they literally dont know how to drive in the wet (haha slowly obviously) and as to the sidewalls splitting what a load of crap.
Would i take these over a better tyre? No BUT for the money they are just fine.
IF your like me and tyres barely last you 6 months and brandwank and you want max performance for your $$$ go for it.
Just dont take it to a trackday and expect to set a record but they are just fine on uphill and downhill twisties and straightline grip is good if not excellent in the dry.
Also dumbdumbs if you want wet weather performance go get a allweather/wet weather sports tyre, dont buy a $85-100 a tyre budget 'sports' tyre and expect it to do something it cant.
The only downside is that the compound seems a bit less sticky than my older maxxis tyres and they need a bit longer to warm up.
on the upside they dont wear as quick and are perfectly happy with a bit of impromptu rallying and the offroad grip is hilariously quite good.
TL:DR
Tyre is good in the dry and hooks perfectly fine, very predictable
Average in the wet no better or worse than competitors
Positive reviews
have them on the rear for grip on the street – grip great dunno why they got such bad reviews work great in the wet mixed surface and dry absolutely the cheapest best value budget hoon tyre on the street skids very quiet as well Show details
Awesome for the cost – Fitted these after 2 sets of VERY expensive Bridgestones on my VF V8 Commodore. Can find little difference in performance or wet weather handling and braking ( and Tasmania is a good test ) against the Bridgestones that are almost 3 times the price , bang for buck these are excellent value. Would not hesitate to recommend these tyres. Show details
Honda eg9 – These type of tyre is for normal run car, like city driving not for race, or high speed anyhow as of my observation these tyre is for light car, if your car is v8 engine that tyre is wasn't fit to you, depending how you drive, or let say if your car is light then you love race you think that tyre suits you,? Of course not, you use race type of… Read more
tyre, I have a car honda eg9, my engine is d15b vtec i run 150-175mph for 1hr 40mins I have a good grip, braking, accelerate, everything is well, my tyre is achilles atr sport, or maybe the production date you use is old,? It cause, no matter what brand you use if it's old its not worth it to buy, I suggest you buy present or up to date tyre, but there's a category of tyre, for daily drive, winter, summer, race etc you name it, so everything depends on you, hope these will help,

Not a bad type for price – I found in dry and wet conditions the overall performance of tyre was not bad for what you pay.durability was average.for the price worth buying for a cheap tyre if you can’t afford the top of the line tyres. Show details
Rubbish tyre – Tyre is average in dry conditions. Absolute rubbish and dangerous in wet. Aquaplanes badly, even at slow speeds. Now I also have the shimmy/shake at 80+ speeds that others have mentioned is common. I thought my rims were buckled or just a bad balance. Have recently had these checked/rebalanced and the shuddering at higher speeds is still there and… Read more
just plain dangerous. Replacing ASAP. Fitted May 2020, review written Jan 2021. Approx. 10k km of use.
Avoid this brand especially the ATR Sport 2 – Avoid this brand especially the ATR Sport 2. Had these fitted with a new set of wheels and immediately started having issues at 100 km/h and above. I could feel a "Shimmy" or shake coming though the steering wheel and the floor of the car while on the motor way, Had my lower control arms replaced as well as all 4 wheels re-balanced twice with no… Read more
luck. I ended up finding a couple of other people with a very similar issue and they suggested i change the front tires to another brand... and presto... issue gone - Honestly just spend the money on a premium brand.

Best tyre! – I highly rate these tyres! I run a transport business and travel over 350,000kms a year. Achilles are good value, quiet and pretty long lasting. They are my choice of tyre for all my vehicles. Show details
Affordable and reliable tyres – Bought Achilles tyres from Discount City Tyres. The price was much more affordable compared to other more well known brands like Hancook and Pirelli. The tyres perform very well, no excessive wear. Road noise is minimal. These tyres have been a stylish and affordable product and I would highly recommend them Show details
WorstTyres made these tyres are putting Australian lives at risk don’t risk your family life on poor tyres – Tyre wear aggressive Didn’t last 2 months put my family at risk.the tyres should be condemned and the company should be held responsible.impact on my car was forced to buy new tyres Show details

Achilles ATR Sport 2 Complete garbage – I purchased this tyres 6 months ago and i noticed the inside side wall it started to split near the rim. Lucky I noticed it changing my brake pads. Very bad budget tires. Never again I would buy any Achillles tyres even if there are under $100 Australian dollars. They can cause a car accident. Show details
Waste of money garbage – Seem ok dry and wet for traction, that said I’m a conservative driver, problem is they are not round, they get flat spots and cause the car to shake, very disappointed with these tyres, maybe they are suitable to light weight cars only, either way the ones I have are crapola. Not too bad in dry, atrocious in wet – I purchased a set of these, although they are Sports II, for my car from the recommendations of a mate that owns a tyre shop. First opinion was they weren't too bad. Not quite as much grip as the previous Bridgestone's I had but a great deal better than the Dunlops my car came with. As they have aged a little the performance has dropped off a… Read more
little and I find the car breaks traction quite easily now but I have had the car tuned which would add to the issue.
In the light rain they still have some grip but in the pouring rain forget about it. They aquarplane terribly, to the point I have pulled over and slept on the side of the road waiting for the rain to ease and the road to dry out some.
I would not recomend them if planning to drive on the highway in any bad weather but around town not too bad.
DO NOT BUY THEY WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT – Unsafe, these tyres should not be sold they are dangerous. I was looking to replace my tyres on my 2015 Supercharged v8 car, these tyres were recommended to me, i was hesitant to buy them because they were so cheap but i still went ahead with them. Buying these tyres is the biggest mistake i have made in my life In the dry weather they are sub… Read more
standard, they are what you would expect for the price.
In the wet they are out right dangerous and not safe to use at all. I do not know how they are allowed to sell these tyre and they are absolutely hopeless in the wet.
They should not be brought by anyone, you should never try and save money on tyres they are the only thing holding you to the road
Unsafe – Tires were purchased from Kal Tire and are coming apart with only 25000 km. They are garbage and unsafe. Warranty is useless when you are dead. Prorated warranty is a scam to sell garbage tires. Best find a reputable dealer and quality tires. These are junk, junk, junk and worse yet--unsafe. Show details
My Tyre tread peeled off Tyre only done 3000klms – Tyres tread came apart from side wall with 95percent tread on them and only 3000klms was told buy other tyre company’s that these tyres are dangerous I could have been killed as it was front Tyre on inside wall were. I could not see it . It was only that Tyre was slowly going down that I took it to be looked at Show details
Good Tyre for the Price – I had these tyres on my car and my Son's car at JAX Tyres. JAX Tyres were very efficient and very cost competitive. The tyres are smooth and sturdy and I am extremely happy with their performance. I would recommend these tyres for people that want a durable and well priced tyre. Show details
Dangerous serious safety risk! – Dont waste your time and money on these junk tyres. Serious safety risk. Very dangerous in the wet and not much better on dry road. Only used on hiway. After 5000km vehicle started to vibrate took back to tyre shop. Tyre fitter told me all 4 tyres had began to delaminate. Now having a drama trying to get my money back. 285/45/22 Show details
Extremely disappointed – I bought a set of 4 tires spent a pretty penny and in a little over a month got a bubble in my driver side tire. Called Mavis to see if there was a manufacturer warranty on tires, but because I denied their 'extended' warranty I was screwed an had to buy another brand new tire. Not durable. Show details

Best to date – I had these tires on my old Liteace Van and got a solid 80,000kms out of them before they got to hitting the wear indicators and needed replacing. Dry or Wet weather they performed great even under enthusiastic cornering... Same as many tires or users on the road, you can have $1000 tires but if your wheel alignment isn't spot on, even the best… Read more
of the pick will be destroyed in a short matter of time.
I haven't tried the ATR Sport 2 yet but someday I'll probably give them a try and write up another review in comparison to previous experiences.
Safe driving :)
Good for value – Yup, they are definitely durable. We bought it from jax tyres in Yeronga, Ipswich road. We aren’t very happy with tyres and it has been a eight months we had it. And so for so good! :) The service wa really quick and good. We were on the road within couple of hrs. Thanks guys! Show details
Very good budget tyre – I have had these tyres on my car for the last 20k kms. They perform very well in both dry and wet conditions - much better than i expected from a tyre that is at an entry level price point. Sidewalls are stiff, yet still flexible enough to be mounted to a large range of width of rim. Show details
Great tyre life. 5 years. 50,000 km+. Not the best in the wet – Had a set of 4 fitted during 2013 on my E36 BMW. Rotated every 6 months. Balanced and wheel alignment every 12 months. 50 000 km+. Brilliant tyres in the dry. Just be REALLY careful in the wet, these tyres like to SLIDE in every direction, since day 1. May work better on larger, heavier vehicles. I recommend to avoid these tyres for smaller passenger cars.. Show details
They do the job, you get what you pay for – put these tyres on my xr6t and then did a 4000km road trip, i didn't really notice road noise but had to really watch it in the wet, bit of rain and it felt like it was about to slide right off the road. not bad for daily use around town, but if you want quality, obviously get a better brand. High failure rate – 2 tyres fitted at first. 2 more after 5000k. The first 2 failed, bulging tread at around 30 000k. Replaced them with Pirelli P1. A few thousand k later another of the Achilles bulged in the tread. Replaced them both with Pirelli P1. I usually do 50 000k on a set of tyres and the Achilles failed with plenty of tread left. Tyre size 225/50-17 Show details
Very good tire – Good tire for the buck decent grip road noise is comfortable a lot of reviews say it’s noisy well it depends on what car it’s on on my mercedes it’s very quiet on a corolla of course it’s going to be noisy some cars cabins are noisy than other so take that into consideration when purchasing sport tires other than that it’s worth the money Show details
dont buy if you have a sports car – I think these tyres have been superseded/discontinued now but here is a review anyway. The tyres aren't very grippy for a sports car. Hardly any traction under full throttle in the dry or the wet. You can play with your traction in the corners in the hills but not recommended in the wet!! can get the tyres to squeal fairly easily. I have a fwd… Read more
turbo(100kw) manual and traction control can kick in 2nd gear under full throttle..... I guess for the price or a car that is daily driven without pushing your limits, its a good tyre.
Average - not impressed – Just like a standard tyre, nothing more, doesn't do anything impressively. Road noise average, as well as handling, wear, comfort and performane in the wet is average too. At this price point, there are better tyres out there that will improve in all areas. In summary this tyre is below expected performance for the price. Show details
Best tyres for drifting at a cheap price – Tyres last longer than other tyres, the tyres have amazing grip for standard street driving wether it be dry or wet conditions. The Achiles ATR Sport tyres I recommend for a cheap alternative for drifting as they only cost aroung $150 per tyre 20 inch. Bridgestone always hagle on prices. Show details
Cheap pretend tyres – Came fitted to new a second hand car. Apparently cost about $80 each. Ok in the dry, gave the traction control a real work out in the wet especially starting from a stop trying to drive up a moderate hill. 16 months and only 25000kms later uneven bald patches, delamination, cracking, vibrations above 80kmh from the delamination. I agree with the… Read more
poster saying that they should be made illegal.
Best description is 'fake tyres' - they look like tyres, sold by a reputable tyre chain, hold air like tyres, sort work ok but wear out super fast, have virtually no traction in the wet - making any price savings up front a false economy.
Seriously do your self a favour and buy some real tyres like michelin pr3, continental c7 or something similar for $130/tyre. Sure they will cost 50% more up front but last 3-400% longer whilst gripping in the wet with better fuel consumption.
Don't Be fooled by the negative ratings – These tires are awesome. Do you really think WalMart would carry tires that would "shred" like some of the reviews suggest? I bought my tires on Simpletires.com and they are the best tires I ever put on my Lincoln MKZ. These other bozos that run tire companies are freaking out because they are losing money like crazy over these tires. I paid… Read more
$320.00 for 4 awesome tires and had them delivered to a garage. The garage charged me $80.00 to mount and balance them. Best $$400.00 I have ever spent. Discount who?......please.......online baby.....only way to go.
Great for the price – Very durable tyre. Put 10,000km on them and almost no signs of wear. Bought these after having bridgestone potenzas that came on the car from factory and have very similar levels of road noise. Grip is great but not as good in wet weather. The atr sport 2 are much better in the wet. Overall very good for the price Show details
