Bought 4 tyres in December now have had 6 punctures. Was averaging 1 a week now one a fortnight. Worst tyres ever made. Beware Kumho as they are now made in China Show details

Follow-up  · To date have had 8 flat tyres with one this morning. This is outrageous! I keep plugging them and they keep getting holes in them. Weak tyres and I can promise you nobody in my area is suffering the same. Beyond a joke. I'm happy to supply the tyres for any unbelievers. Not just 8 holes either it's been multiple punctures at times. 10 plugs in them. Purchase at your own peril.

This is the first time I have used Mobile Tyre Shop to come and replace a tyre and do a wheel alignment at my home. I was very happy with the service and would definitely recommend this company.

Great tyres Kumho SOLUS TA21 (215/45 R17) 91 V Medium price range. Good grip on wet road, & on normal initial acceleration from stop. My original OEM tyres on 2015 Toyota 86 is economical Michelin Primacy HP 215/45 R17 87W, last 10 yrs! Although dislike by many, learn to adjust initial acceleration from stop; use extensively & on freeway drive… Read more

fast when needed! What can I ask for? Economical tyres save me $, last twice life of other tyres! Now I change to Kumho Solus TA21, just excellent, I won't have to adjust my initial acceleration from stop, great stopping... Very satisfy, if these Kumho tyres last me same 10+ yrs, while let me have fun at times, I will be extremely happy : )

Kumho solus HS11 – The tyre developed a bubble on sidewall within a year, I’ve read reviews on other websites and it seems this is a common problem, not happy, because they don’t have a warranty for this problem

Three punctures in three weeks. Averaging a puncture a week. Asked the tyre guy at Tyrepower for hard tyres as my road is gravel. Not happy. Tyres been on the car for a month. Show details

Follow-up  · 4 punctures now and Tyrepower refused warranty. My road is gravel. However I ran Chinese tyres on my AU2 XR6 For 2 years without a puncture. The vehicle the Kumhos are on is a BA MARK II Futura with 165000kms and stock standard. Will never buy Kumho tyres ever again!

Back to the Future, with smiles! – OK, my Kia Carnival is over 15 years old. The original tyres back in 2005 were Kumho's Solus KH17's. I had since gone through a set of Goodyear SP Sports, another set of Kumho's and a set of Hankook's. This last set of Hankooks had been disappointing in that I thought the sidewalls were a little soft, yielding an "American Boulevarde" ride, a… Read more

little too soft, with a little more "roll" than what I was used to. Although they didn't require replacing, (under 30K klms),one developed a giant blister on my driver's side front....the most dangerous of positions to have a blister. A blowout could cause a rollover into oncoming traffic. I was so lucky to have noticed the rythmic "thump thump thump" as I drove towards the M2 at Seven Hills...... So, I found an excellent price online, which included fitting, and immediately purchased (yesterday 11th Dec 2020). Tyres are great. Good handling for a largish "7 seater wagon", and good looking with a low 215 65 15 profile. Driving back form filling up before the Christmas rush (price gouge) today, I had to brake harder than regularly, on a downhill run.....tyres, although new, stopped me without squeal nor complaint. I couldn't be happier.....These Kumho's are perfect for my Kia carnival.

Dangerous in wet weather – Right from driving down the road out of the tyre place they felt strange under brakes -it felt like the brakes weren't working as well as they should. I just put it down to new tyres and a different feel. I suppose I got used to it, but I found them to be really bad when braking in the wet. This was a few years ago - so they may have improved -… Read more

and we had a 1997 Toyota Camry, with no ABS. I locked the front wheels under brakes in the wet on a few occasions. Only one was under "emergency" type conditions, the others were normal driving (I am used to having tyres that grip in the wet though), and they just locked up on even a fairly light application. The one occasion that could have been really nasty was driving on a country road; it wasn't raining, but the road was wet / damp. I was sitting on 100kph and going around a slight curve. Suddenly there was a car stopped, waiting to turn onto a driveway that was half way through the curve. I braked fairly heavily, but not panic-braking. My immediate assessment was that I would have to brake fairly heavily, but I had room, it was okay. But the front locked up and slid. As I said, no ABS, so I had to do the same thing manually - lift off the pedal till the tyres regained grip and then get back on the brakes and try to balance the amount of braking and the distance to the car waiting to turn. Luckily I got it slowed enough and the car turned as we got closer, so all was okay. Then after that there were a couple of minor instances where the wheels locked in relatively light braking on wet road. By then I'd had enough! I changed them. I normally ran Michelin, but I think they were unavailable and I got Bridgestone I think. They were MUCH better anyway. On the positive side, they cornered okay in wet or dry; it was just ("just"?) in braking they were bad. And I have heard good reports of the brand in general from other people, so I think it is probably just this model. I would NOT recommend Solus anyway.

Kumho Road Venture MT51 – Just installed a set of 285/75r16 Kumho MT51's on my Landcruiser, I have run Coopers, BFG, Brigestone, Maxxis and Mickey Thompson on past vehicles (All heavy duty 4x4), some of these have severely underperformed and displayed rapid deterioration. To date the Kumho MT51's have been my favourite and are very cost effective. These are sold as a Mixed… Read more

Terrain and they certainly are very quiet. I liked the fact that product testing was done in Australia for our conditions and our vehicles. These are not a small tyre, they are 33.1 inches and fill out the wheel arches nicely on my cruiser, unlike some other brands that are very small for their advertised size. I cannot comment on personal wear just yet, however I will update this review as I put more Km's over various terrain on these tyres.

****(Update 10/06/2018)****

I have done 15000km on these tyres across a range of different terrain now, the tires still look new and tread wear is negligible, although road noise has increased they are very quiet for such an aggressive looking tire.

Beach sand - these tyres air down nicely and at 18psi will create a good footprint and get you through all but the softest beaches.

Gravel roads - these are fantastic on loose / rutted gravel roads and track in a very true direction.

Bitumen - not as good as a road tyre, however very grippy and perform exceptionally well.

It's not the first time we have gotten tyres through these guys, and as usual we couldn't be happier with their service. They arrived exactly when they said they would, they were friendly and easy to deal with and they provided a perfect service. I 100% recommend for quality and service! Thanks again guys

Odd noise – I purchased a set of 235/45r18 Solus T/A 21s for my Toyota Camry hybrid and first impressions haven't been great. These replaced a set of Bridgestone T005's. Comfort wise they are very similar and handling seems to be close to but not quite as good. The problem comes with the noise levels. The Kuhmos make a strange noise - it's hard to explain,… Read more

kind of like there's something in the bottom of the inside of the tyre or a wheel bearing is wonky. This noise is more pronounced in the Camry as it's a hybrid so the engine is off a lot of the time when you're moving. I had the tyre shop rebalance them and even swap the front to back but the noise persists so I can only expect that it's the normal noise of the tyre. Apparently without the tyre showing any signs of a defect on the balancer I'm stuck with $900 worth of noisy tyres. I think next time I'd just pay the $300 extra to get Bridgestones.

Really poor wet weather performance - 2012 Toyota Corolla (ZRE152R) – If you are looking at the Kumho Solus KH17 for your Toyota Corolla. Stay well away or do not drive in any wet weather conditions. These tyres are really bad in the wet & do not get any traction at all. I did an entire set of 4 tyres & the performance was scary. The understeer the car experienced in the wet at slow speeds was really something with… Read more

Silent but don't Last long – Kumho Solus tyres came standard on our new 2015 Jeep . Super silent love them for that . Only get 35,000 km out of a set though. Have had no handling issues. Have done 70,000 km now and am due a 3rd set I am in 2 minds on what to do. Mainly highway driving but do tow a caravan occasionally. Show details

Good quality tyre at an affordable price – Bought this tyre as a replacement to one of my punctured tyre on a bad luck day. It is the exact same brand and model as the original one that is provided with my KIA Cerato Sports+. Sleek and sporty look, with good drip on normal days. Glides easily on wet days from stationary to acceleration position on slopes but not a big deal. Show details

2 tyres exploded while driving within 3 days – KUMHOP SOLUS KH17 was put on my Subaru Forester 5 years and 40 000 km ago. With still a decent amount of thread left in them we went for a trip. 1st tyre burst while driving 110 km/h, lucky it was the rear one and I managed to stop safely. I've changed it for the spare. 2 days later while still travelling I noticed an increasing vibration to the… Read more

steering wheel. We checked the front tyres noticing a bulge on one of them. While being in the middle of nowhere we slowly limped to the nearest town. Didn't make it. In about 5 minutes...boom a 2nd tyre gone. I couldn't believe it. See the pictures for evidence. Very strange and very disappointing KUMHO.

Great mileage – We are about to replace the original tyres on my wife's 2012 Kia Cerato Sli, has 17 inch rims. I will NEVER buy Kumho tyres ever again – I've purchased this brand and model tyres twice (in 16" & 17", sets of 4) and I would NEVER buy another Kumho tyre. The tyres were bought new and I was told I would get 40,000+ KMs out of them and in both cases these tyres didn't even get 15,000 KMs out of them, extremely disappointing product and very unhappy customer. Show details

Poor tyre life – These tyres were the original factory fitted tyres on my car. Initially performance was reasonable considering they're Kumho's budget tyre. Cheap but not great mileage – Tyres grip well and the ride is OK. The price was excellent.. got them on a price match from KMART Tyres and Auto.
