bad service and fake promises – Service has been down for 3 weeks. They sent an NBN guy around to check it out. It wasn't the line but the modem, cable or service. Promises of calls back but never returned. Customer service manager rang promised the world but nothing still not working. I have now signed up with another carrier. Do not sign a contract. If you need reliable internet and service then this is not the provider for you. Show details
Internet has not worked for two weeks – I was mildly (not super fast but reasonable price so didn't expect it to be speedy) happy with my nbn connection until one day it stopped working. After contacting the helpdesk around 6 times and waiting for a call back after being told someone would get back to me the matter is still unresolved and i still have no internet. I am now going to change providers not happy! Show details
Awful – Live in an apartment complex of FTTP, service is unusable between peak hours to the point that a photo does not load. Last month in my contract and could not wait to move to a different provider. Useless Show details
Dishonest company and rude customer service – I have been with activenet for 9 months and i signed up on 100gb for 49 dollars, however months ago, they are now offering 300gb for 49 dollars. They didnt even update our account and let us know. This company is extremely dishonest. Morever, when you call in, the technical support and the manager and crew are extremely rude bunch of people. Dont sign up with them. Show details
Great value NBN company – We have had brilliant internet with ActiveNet. Great speeds on our connection and awesome rates. Setup was an easy transfer from our old provider with a modem that was already set up. Show details
Difficult company to deal with, great prices – I always have trouble communicating with this company. I have had to make enqiries a few times with this company and everytime I call I get told I have to go to the website to put in a request to have my account changed. That is for things like, automatic debit updates, getting a larger download limit, the basics cannot be changed by phone. I… Read more
have also called for information in regards to upgrading my internet and been given incorrect information, then told to send the request details myself to someone different. Then they come back with another option because the one I requested (and was told I could have) was not viable after all for an existing client, judst new clients. It got very confusing!
When i have to send an email enquiry and i ask for confirmation, if they call they never leave a msg and i have no idea they called at all because im unable to answer the phone most working hours. I just need a msg left and i'll return your call.
Also have lots of trouble with pages loading, very delayed, pretty bad for nbn.
The staff are ALWAYS polite on the phone, but politely unhelpful is still unhelpful.
I also have a lot of trouble with their webpage. Have never been able to view the invoice. Have let them know, nothing changed, Have lots of trouble sending messages through their website which keeps telling me ive used the incorrect log in , even though im actually logged in at the time already. this message comes up every time i try to contact them therefore i cannot communicate with them by phone at their request nor by their webpage. Have had to resort to finding old emails and returning them to activenet since I cannot call or get anything fixed and that sometimes doesnt work either!!
Price is great..for a reason.
Run Away! Don't Sign Up! Seriously Don't – Mine was a NBN network. Within two days of connecting, internet speed was ridiculously slow. Anyway that is just one of the issue. The worse issue was CUSTOMER SERVICE. So, a technician from NBN came to my house on Monday and install NBN whatever, in preparation for the internet. The original appointment was on 27/4/17 but we pushed forward the… Read more
appt on Monday on 24/4/17. Everything was gone fine for the last couple days. Anyway, this morning on 27/4, a NBN technician came out and said he had to do something. So i assumed maybe my internet provider has organised someone to look into the internet speed. After he left, my internet dropped, i had no internet at all after he left. So i can be contacted ActiveNet, and a guy answered the phone and said to me he didn't organised anyone to come out this morning. I call NBN one hour ago and they said they did had an appointment at my property this morning but when i call up one hour later, they said there was no appointment made at all. So i call ActiveNet, and the whole conversation the guy tried to make me sound as though i am a liar. That i was making things up. The technician was genuine, he showed me what he did. Surprising fact is that, NBN did not know who this guy is, changing their stories continuously and as for Activenet, instead of enquiring by themselves, they got me to do the job for them, and on top of that, made me sound as a freaking liar. I have phone conversations recorded, it is appalling, they are very disgusting. I pay 54 dollars plus 100 dollars modem for this service.
Was terrible at first, improved since – After raising my concerns with their tech support, they appear to have taken steps to improve the situation. Speeds are now adequate most of the time, although it is still impossible to reach the maximum speeds. Much better than before now! Thanks for the support. speeds at any time you actually want to use the net. On my first day, recorded 88Mbps around midday during the week and was happy. Every other day I haven't exceeded 30. And now, for the second time in the 1 month since I've had ActiveNetof the NBN FTTP, I am below 1 megabit per second (yes, not megabyte) between 8pm at 10pm. What the hell? If they don't cancel me out of this contract (which locks me in for one year), I'm going straight to the TIO.
Support is friendly but somewhat unhelpful at times.
Not a bad company, but not much support if any! – I signed up with Activenet back in May 2016. Currently connected to a 250gb plan for $59 a month on NBN it seems to be fairly good, with good connection, however there are dropouts occasionally. Because of this I have sent them several emails over the course of the last 3 months and have received NO emails in return. However the problems seem to… Read more
resolve themselves. The only other issue i've had with them is that when I signed up to Foxtel in 2016, I found I couldn't use their MyAccount side of things as it kept telling me I was not in Australia, when I am actually based in Tasmania. Besides these 2 problems, this company seems to be good in their service they provide, just not much good at support. Needless to say that I have not yet phoned for support so under these circumstances I can only write about this particular experience.
