is common to cheaper units is the lid seal, its not the best out there, however the lid opens from both sides, thats handy. A lot of reviews here are not the newer units. Stayzcool are a step up from the normal kings units, hence the 5 year warranty. I find the more than satisfactory given the price, also, they seem to be modest in power consumption given.

freezing up the condenser and that you have to very regularly defrost them. Took the unit outside in FNQ for 48 hours temp around 28-30 Celsius unit got Nicely warm all over left it to drain and settle in the correct position then retried running and no BETTER AT ALL. RANG head office in Canberra got told unit 4 years old BAD LUCK OUT OF WARRANTY AND NO SPARE PARTS AVAILABLE AT ALL. Well guess what Kings 4WD I’ll never be back and the signs I have put on the back of our caravan saying “ STAY AWAY FROM KINGS 4WD RUBBISH PRODUCTS “ we are getting more honks and likes than your rubbish products. quality and value. The Secop compressor hasn't missed a beat as yet and I have run it as both a camping fridge and a second fridge in my home. The fridge itself is made by Dometic so in essence it's an older version of the Waeco CF range.
The one negative I have is that 4wdsupacentre advertise the unit as 12V and 240V powered although the "240V supply" is really just a supplied 240V/12V transformer.
It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of say a branded Waeco (i.e WiFi connectivity, rear power socket, reversible lid without removal etc) but it's a solid with the quality where it needs it most.
All in all however this fridge is an excellent value, especially being that a "big brand" unit of a similar size are approaching the $1,400 mark.

Adequate enough...maybe – Cheap build quality. The built in thermometer can't be trusted. I bought a Kings thermometer for inside the fridge and it reports vastly different numbers. As of now the fridge is inside the house (at about 22 degrees) and fridge set to 1 degree, the temp has been swinging between 3 degrees and 9 degrees. food hasn't spoiled, but it's probably borderline. It can overcompensate at night and the compartment can get below zero, thus freezing stuff. Opening it can send the temp soaring back to 10 degrees before it tries to cool. I think the issue is that is can't maintain a temp and the temp varies greatly from bottom to top. It seems to do a big cooling cycle every X minutes, instead of many smaller cooling cycles which would be much more efficient for keeping the temp correct.
The dairy compartment is completely useless for food as it'll be almost as warm as the outside air. Use for drinks ONLY.
For the price, it's ok. Just keep an eye on things like salads and keep anything that should definitely stay cold at the bottom.
I've asked support for the specifics on cooling cycles and process and am awaiting a reply.
EDIT: I think i've figured it out. It looks like the cooling cycle will only kick in when the temperature variance is +3 over what it's been set to. However, I think that the thermostat is at the bottom and not particularly responsive. If i've got the fridge set to 2, it can vary up to 6 or 8 (based on the Kings thermometer), but the internal thermostat may only register 4. I need to set it to -1, then back to 2 in order to trick it to cool right down

Doesn't hold temperature - Useless – We bought the 60L stayzcool to use as a fulltime freezer for our motorhome. Didn't last – Brought this fridge mid 2019. Have used it a handful of times. Started it up the other day before a trip planned, digital screen lit up but that's about it. I was then told by the claims department representative Option 1 I was only entitled to a store credit (a full refund/store credit, I will be at least $200.00 out of pocket, as it will not cover the cost of a replacement fridge) Option 2 have the fridge returned to Qld for repair. The repairs and transport can take many weeks, they could not offer a time line. This is not really a great option when it's the summer months you need a camping/portable fridge, but financially it was the most acceptable. I feel that customer service and claims department personnel are giving mixed messages.

possible temperature (-18 Celsius). There it worked, chock full of goods until October 2020. With the exception of a few weeks break, it has run continuously now in fridge mode (+1 Celsius) since October 2020. That's around 18 months continuous operation. It has also been camping with me. Set at +1 Celsius, it will swing up to +3 or even +4 before the compressor kicks in. On the cold side, it might occasionally get down to - 1 Celsius before switching its compressor off.
The current drain is 4 amps when the compressor turns on (reasonable) and obviously nothing when its off. I decided on this item because it uses the Secop compressor which is the old rebranded Danfoss. Its all about the compressor in any fridge. Now, I notice that their new range of fridges does not mention the compressor brand. I think we can all assume its no longer a Secop compressor so my review cannot speak to their new models (sorry).
Now, in terms of what this fridge has done for me, and the service I tend to get from Adventure Kings, I can say its all been excellent.
I also have their 160 watt fixed solar panel. Its output is what they claim it should be.

the fridge. I had a couple of cans fall out onto my bare feet, recently, which allowed me to say some words. I have cured the problem by forming a cardboard insert that now lives in the bottom of the basket permanently. An extra vertical wire in each corner or a horizontal wire running around the perimeter approximately 100mm up woul cure the problem from new.

Work fine for the price – I have both a Kings 60 litre which I use a fridge, and a 45 litre as a freezer. The 60 litre I have had for coming up 4 years and has worked fine with regular use in back of my 4wd and in my camper. Had some trouble with the lid latch for a while but I sorted that out...Being I have had a good run with the Kings 60 litre I bought the 45 litre which I have had for about 6 months and it too hasn't missed a beat keeping stuff frozen. Worked well for a while and gradually won't hold its temperature – after a year or so it started struggling and throwing error codes, now it won't hold its temperature off the 12V even though the batteries are strong. gets noisy and powering away but won't get cold, seems like a cheap dodgy fridge I won't bother with customer service as it seems its even worse than the quality of the fridge.
