Terrible for 30°+C climates – Bought a 90 L fridge freezer about 3 years ago. First time out was about a 2 week trip and the E1 code kept coming up. (32-35°C) it started throwing up the E1 code again and shutting down during the day. Freezer would reach +20° so all of the frozen meat was ruined. Freezer would refreeze overnight. We think that we have worked out that the compressor would not handle the heat during the day These units are not suitable for Australian climates that reach 30°+C
I have the original mark 1 90 litre duel zone stays cool fridge freezer ? This thing struggles to. takes 2 full days to freeze a few items meat ect. I now see why they called it stays cool. I've had so many negative experiences with Kong's products & their rude staff. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. seal around the lids, are not good enough, cold air is escaping. I have added an extra seal on top of the existing seal. You don't need much, I found ,2 mm was enough.

Setpoint issues – My 90ltrs Dual Zone is set to -1 as I primarily use it as a fridge on a day to day bases. Recently I have noticed the right zone going down as low as -15 and left zone + 12. Fridge wouldn’t even be 14months old? Ideas? Show reply

any error messages? Nothing has changed. Same power source, same location I took side off to check coils were clean and they are great condition. Fan is running and all wires are attached and great shape. Just wondering if anyone knows what has caused this and if can be repaired and at what cost. Is it just better to cut losses and buy a new one. I am a bit miffed that we only got 3 years out of it for the price we paid. Any feedback would greatly appreciated.

look over the outside and plugged it into a battery (the fridge failed to turn on) that he would raise it with the warranty department. A few short minutes later I was told it was declined due to user abuse as it was not in pristine condition. Now this is ment to be an off-road/camping fridge is marketed as one, promoted and sold by this companies staff as one and if a couple of marks inside the compartment means it voids warranty well that's pretty poor. No one opened up the compressor compartment to check if the electronics were compromised, compresser damaged etc. No thorough investigation of the fault was done. I would strongly recommend people steer clear of this company. After spending a small fortune setting up multiple vehicles and on camping equipment with this company this has been the straw that broke the camel's back. It is well known the products sold are not of the same quality as brands like Dometic or Engle, or Darche but this doesn't resolve the fact they offer big warranties that are worthless. From what I have read I am not the only one a class action against this company is overdue

Disappointed never to deal with 4wd Supa centre Brendale, staff rude inconsiderate unhelpful – Bought this product exactly 2 years and 3 months. Used only 4 trips, weeks at a time, come home on our last trip to find out all our food was not cold and freezer defrosted. Fully charged battery with solar panels, just wouldn’t get cold. warranty department and was given a reference number to take back to supa centre, however supa centre wouldn’t do anything about it. Staff told me its out of warranty even after I have given the number as reference to Kings department, staff became rude and even told me to buy a new one for $950. That was not the answer I was hoping to get, there is a problem why can we find a better solution to fix the problem instead of trying to sell me another one. mind only a store credit could be provided as I didn’t want to take the risk with a non proven fridge compressor I have since sold the fridge at less then what I paid not good enough kings all I wanted was a refund for being mislead. I’m sure if I had the time and effort I could have taken this to the ACCC as my invoice clearly stated secop compressor And the fridge packaging states otherwise.

with customer conflict resolution neither did the store manager. We have also kings camp chairs that have used across 3 trips and have started to tear. I need products that last and are durable. So far this fridge has failed expectations and after sales support is terrible.

my food on the very first day of what was supposed to be a 5 day trip. I assumed that maybe the problem was with my trailer so I went to 4WD supacentre and they recommend I run THEIR solar panel, battery box and their battery which I bought so that I could use my brand new fridge. I have taken the fridge out twice since then and have lost all my food both times. I had multiple error codes appearing and the fridge would not hold temperature at all. I assumed after purchasing all kings equipment which was recommended by them I wouldn’t have an issue, but clearly I was wrong. After losing all my food for the final time I decided to put my brand new battery in to get tested(came back with no problems). So my next step was to take my fridge back in to kings. I was told the fridge would have to be tested to ensure they would get the same faults as I have had multiple times. The results came back that there is no issue with the fridge, and that basically they can’t do anything to help me and it’s my problem to deal with! I was highly disappointed with the outcome and now have a fridge that I can’t use and a waste of $1000 on the fridge plus the best part of $700 in food lost. I am extremely dissatisfied with the product and how the process was executed considering the fridge is still under warranty. AS AN OWNER OF THIS FRIDGE I HIGHLY DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM PURCHASING THIS PRODAUCT AS I HAVE SEEN COUNTLESS PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUES!!!

Cools well but cheap parts... Second time in 19 months compressor has failed – I have owned this fridge for 19 months and used regularly. It cools quickly and stays cool for long periods. I usually run both compartments on 1 degree. When I first bought this fridge it ran for a couple of days before the compressor failed. Won’t stay cold – Had the 90lt duel zone for a while and worked fine on a few short trips. Just went away for three weeks and set one side to fridge the other to freezer. Absolute rubbish – Bought the 90l kings fridge today it worked well for about 1 hour got the temps down to -10 on 1 side and 00 on the other and then it all went to crap-10 went to +15 and the 00 rose to +5 the fridge then stayed on constantly for another 6 hours and temps only dropped by 1 or 2 degrees i finally turned the piece of crap of and will take it back tomorrow for a refund ,,,,,,,,,do not buy this crap. Good work fridge – I brought mine about 12 months ago and has never been turned off. Sat in the back of the ute 4 6 months with only the cooler bag for protection then when I got a trailer I moved it into there to keep people from opening it. Only down side is it doesn't auto switch to 240v when plugged in I have to unplug 12v so it doesn't blow fuse. wouldn't cool below 9 degC and all frozen food was lost. Started a claim with 4WD Supacenter and it took them 3 weeks just to get a resolution which was to replace the fridge. Got my new fridge and first time out it worked fine in the morning and through the day, then when I got home the compartment I set to 2 deg (fridge) was at -10deg and all food and drinks were frozen, and the compartment I set to -10 deg was on 30deg...it was off. All frozen food was lost. I had the fridge for less then a week, and they are now making me start a new claim all over again. I guess I'm waiting 3 more weeks for another fridge. I have use my fridge/s for a total of 15 days, but 4WD Supacentre has had my fridge/s and my money for far longer! Warranty department frickin useless. Kept telling us they were “escalating” our claim but never got in touch or got back to us. Had consumer affairs involved.
Took unit back to original store again (as per consumers affairs), manager “escalated” claim again. Gave our bank details and got the price of the 70L fridge refunded, not the 90L and cover that we’d paid in full for. Ripped off $180!
Absolute disaster! Wouldn’t buy another electronic device off these crooks again!
Bought an Engel, no dramas at all, works a treat and more efficient off the camper batteries than the Kings ever was.

Mine is good – I've had this fridge for about 18 months. It has stayed in the back of the ute most of that time not always on though. Hooked up to a kings solar panel on the roof via lead acid in a kings box with the standard regulator. It hasn't missed a beat, gets cold, I only use it as a fridge, not freezer. Solar keeps up. beeping, food would not freeze correctly as freezer could not reach Or maintain the desired temperatures. Fridge would not reach desired temperatures.
Warranty team have been very slow getting back to me, after multiple escalations I received an email with a very poor response to the matter.
So frustrated as I have made many purchases at their store and this fridge is the absolute worst product they sell - do not buy is my recommendation as it will just spoil your trip and your food.
I have another trip coming up this December and hopefully someone at warranty claims will wake up before then and test the fridge & realise that the fridge is dodgy - there is no way I can do another trip with such a poor quality fridge/ freezer.
