Great machine and cleans well

We bought the washer 1 year ago because of the 5 year warranty and great price. Hasn't let us down, cleans well.

However, with all the negative reviews and lack of overall replacements parts and options in Australia, we're picking up a Bosch dryer, not an AEG dryer.

Satisfied with all aspects of the machine, no mold, easy to maintain, does everything we need. Show details

Worst front loader ever

I would have returned it in the first week. Everything from cords in track pants to shirt sleeves and pant legs are screwed up. I have the matching AEG dryer, which doesn’t get the wrinkles out and takes forever to dry anything. If you have something partly dry from the line the dryer will not dry it, even if you choose the time dry option. Show details

Massive mould issue

We spent a LOT of money on this washing machine.

I've tried everything to prevent mould build up in the door seal but it is horrific. It's impossible to clean and dry because it has all these little holes. You can't reach some and others just get more water later even though you think you've wiped it out!

Absolutely terrible design fault. Very disappointed.

A very average machine at a very expensive price

Bought new 2017, was sold to us as the best available.
3 technician callouts in first 3 years, parts covered under warranty but not labour or callout fee.
Now broken again and technician unavailable for est. 6 weeks.

Do not waste your money or time.
Very average product, with even worse backup Show details

Wish I could turn back time

The worst purchase I have ever made along with the dryer that goes with it. So many faults, so many phone calls and emails. Don't waste your money or your time.

Great washing machine

The Aeg washing machine has been great for my family. Clothes always comes out clean and almost dry from the spin speed. No issues at all

Servicing problems

Overall I am happy with the machine even though it was not made in Germany as advised. As AEG rely on private companies to repair their machines is troublesome. I needed someone to repair my machine in under one year of age. You have to ring a number and they give you an address and o/number. I rang and the company was too busy so you have to ring for an alternative company. At least they would come but I would have to wait 3 weeks and they may decide I would have to pay even though it is under warranty for 5 years. Would only ever buy from a company who have their own maintenance division. Luckily now more companies sell larger sizes.

Never buy again

This machine is so over sold. The wash times are far too long to even be slightly efficient. The steam function which was sold as the bees knees / never iron again - rubbish - does not work. Worse machine I have ever had - should have stuck with the Bosch. Never heard for AEG when complained. Show details

Can this washer be used in a cold cycle?

Can this washer be used on cold cycle?

Donna.
Donna. · 8000 Series

Purchased both the 10kg & 8Kg 8000 series washer and dryer less than 2 weeks ago and am already regretting it. During operation they are both quite loud machines, with the washing machine in particular driving me crazy with a constant humming/low range buzzing sound throughout the cycle which I gather is the motor and water pump. Is this typical of the machine?

Also, the washing machine door has, just this morning 8/7/2023, developed a 'knocking' sound when in motion to be either opened or closed. ( as it's being swung, not the clicking sound of the latch when opening or closing). I gather it has something to do with the bolts internally.

The dryer seems to be operating 'ok' from what I can tell at the moment, but upon inspection of the heat exchanger/bottom filter metal fins, there are several that are misaligned and leaning on each other, creating small 'holes' in the grid, and by all accounts it's not good for optimal operation of airflow if the fins are touching one another...

Could anyone enlighten me on these issues?

Thank you in advance.

Hi there we have an AEG LF8C1612A, the rubber seal has been Moullet for years and we need to change it or get another machine. Not sure if it’s worth replacing and investing money when it’s likely to happen quite quickly again? Wondering if there an issue with the design of the rubber given the messages I’ve read below?

Features

The following features are based on the 8kg-capacity washing machine in the AEG 8000 Series.

  • The AEG 8000 Series is designed with 10 wash programs, which are: Delicate, Synthetics, Ultra quick (20 minutes to wash a 3kg load), Anti allergy, Cotton, Duvets, Steam refresh, OutDoor - an outdoor clothing program for restoring water protection, Wool/silk, and OKOPower.
  • OKOPower uses a thorough cleaning cycle to wash clothes in 59 minutes, at a lower water temperature.
  • Wash options let you select the wash temperatures, as well as make your selection from the following: Prewash, Stain, Time Saver, Extra Rinse, Delay Start, Rinse, Eco, Drain and Spin, Extra silent, and Soft Plus.
  • A ProSense feature uses intelligent sensors to optimise each wash cycle, including choosing the wash time, as well as water and energy consumption.
  • An OKOInverter brushless inverter motor works quietly and also uses less energy than other washing machine motors.
  • The Time Save function reduces washing time by up to 50% for smaller laundry loads, and is compatible with selected programs.
  • This AEG 8000 Series of washing machines has a 5-star energy rating.
  • This machine operates at a volume of 51dB, according to AEG. This is relatively quiet for a washing machine, and is equivalent to the hum of a quiet fridge.
  • The AEG 8000 Series has a variable spin speed function, and a maximum 1, 400rpm spin speed.
