Wish this unit would work as good as my 2005 AEG
LF8C8412A (8kg)Purchased the 8000 series washer and dryer as a pair.
Our old 2005 AEG washer performed perfectly for 17 years before the bearings started to fail. The condenser dryer is still going. My son has it and uses it weekly.
Based on these experiences we expected the same from a new 8000 machines.
As with many reviews below we are experiencing the mold build-up and a strong musty smell.
We too, rub the inside of the door seal after every wash and leave the door open.
I have now completed a deep clean of the seal and run a hot wash with vinegar.

Worst front loader ever
LF8C9412AC (9kg)I would have returned it in the first week. Everything from cords in track pants to shirt sleeves and pant legs are screwed up. I have the matching AEG dryer, which doesn’t get the wrinkles out and takes forever to dry anything. If you have something partly dry from the line the dryer will not dry it, even if you choose the time dry option.

If I could go back in time I would never have purchased
8000 Series LF8C1612A (10 kg)Do your research before buying. I was talked into this machine and matching dryer by a Harvey Norman salesman and have regretted not just keeping the cheap old washer and dryer they replaced. I just want these machines to do their jobs. At first the machine was fine and I was happy with it but after only a few months I now need to do an extra spin (at the end of a cycle that already has a spin!) or the clothes will be left very wet. After that I put them into the dryer which will dry for hours and then when I go to remove the clothes they are still damp and need to be put back in or sometimes I give up and hang them on the line to finish. It takes all day to do a load of washing with the extra steps. Don't buy!

Massive mould issue
8000 Series LF8C9412A (9 kg)We spent a LOT of money on this washing machine.
I've tried everything to prevent mould build up in the door seal but it is horrific. It's impossible to clean and dry because it has all these little holes. You can't reach some and others just get more water later even though you think you've wiped it out!
Absolutely terrible design fault. Very disappointed.

A very average machine at a very expensive price
8000 Series LF8C1612A (10 kg)Bought new 2017, was sold to us as the best available.
3 technician callouts in first 3 years, parts covered under warranty but not labour or callout fee.
Now broken again and technician unavailable for est. 6 weeks.
Do not waste your money or time.
Very average product, with even worse backup

Wish I could turn back time...
8000 Series LF8C1612A (10 kg)The worst purchase I have ever made along with the dryer that goes with it. So many faults, so many phone calls and emails. Don't waste your money or your time.
Great washing machine
8000 Series LF8C1612A (10 kg)The Aeg washing machine has been great for my family. Clothes always comes out clean and almost dry from the spin speed. No issues at all
Not Overly Impressed - For The Price
8000 Series LF8E8411A (8 kg)I bought my washing machine in 2020. After about 9 months of using my new machine it started leaving black flecks (like tea leaves) all over my washing. It got worse and worse. It was particularly noticeable when I hung sheets on the line. I rang AEG and they sent out a tech who informed me not to use liquid detergent as it leaves a film on the outside of the drum and leeches into the wash. I immediately changed to a powder. I was also informed to use vinegar each wash - which I also did with every wash. I was then informed to do a very hot
... Read more cleaner wash every month or so. I did ALL THESE THINGS and the problem was still there. The technician came out AGAIN for a second time in Jan 2023 and we went through the same process. Nothing wrong with machine he said, I just have to put up with the “tea tea leaf” flecks all over my washing! He said machine programmes these days don’t do a long enough load to break down the detergent properly?! RUBBISH I thought. I do long, hot washes so thought the comment was a bit silly. I’ve been using washing machines for well over 50 years and I have never had this problem before with any machine. I give up. I have this very expensive washer and matching dryer and I feel I am really stuck with them now. Not overly impressed. Please check other reviews before you purchase one of these AEG machines. My machine model is probably discontinued now but PLEASE be aware. UPDATE: written on 2/4/23. I was asked by Product Review a couple of months ago, if I was prepared to try Mediation with AEG before publishing this review. I certainly agreed to this. I waited and waited and waited for AEG to contact me. For 2 months I heard nothing from AEG. I felt they weren’t interested in mediating with me. This makes me feel like they don’t care one little bit about their customers or their problems. So tonight I publish this review which I wrote months ago. Nothing has changed ….. I still have “tea leaves” all over my washing! I’m still very cranky and disappointed.Purchased in at Harvey Norman Retail Stores - Appliances.

Servicing problems
8000 Series LF8C1612A (10 kg)Overall I am happy with the machine even though it was not made in Germany as advised. As AEG rely on private companies to repair their machines is troublesome. I needed someone to repair my machine in under one year of age. You have to ring a number and they give you an address and o/number. I rang and the company was too busy so you have to ring for an alternative company. At least they would come but I would have to wait 3 weeks and they may decide I would have to pay even though it is under warranty for 5 years. Would only ever buy from a company who have their own maintenance division. Luckily now more companies sell larger sizes.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
8000 SeriesPurchased both this front load washing machine and its matching drier on recommendation of Harvey Norman, they were NOT cheap. Now as so many others have discovered and is a known problem, AEG washing machines and driers are complete rust buckets, even in mild Victorian climate both the washing machine and drier have gone rusty and are totally useless. Harvey Norman couldn't care less and directed to AEG 6 months ago. An AEG repairman came out to inspect both washing machine and drier and agreed they are completely rusty and useless. He sai
... Read mored he'll submit his report to AEG recommending they are replaced and that AEG will contact us to arrange this..... SIX MONTHS LATER, STILL NO WORD FROM AEG. AEG HAVE IGNORED ALL OUR CALLS AND EMAILS. We are still washing clothes at laundromat whilst rusty metal useless machines sit idle in our laundry. Never ever ever again will I purchase from either Harvey Norman or AEG. Worst customer service from AEG that you could ever imagine.HORRIBLE PRODUCT AND TERRIBLE COMPANY
8000 Series LF8C1612A (10 kg)I purchased a washing machine from AEG on the recommendation of a Harvey Norman salesman. What a mistake that has been. Since purchased it has caused me nothing but problems. $2500 for a machine where the plastic inner seal has warped after only a few uses and the machine spin cycle is so loud and intense it has caused damage to my laundry. I lodged a complaint with them and today after the technician comes out I’m told it’s faulty and to request a new one however on calling AEG they were rude and dismissive and said they would just fix it and

I will be taking this further by way of consumer complaints and if necessary will be issuing legal proceedings against this company however I warn everyone to avoid buying anything from them. I should have read the reviews on here before buying thisPurchased at Harvey Norman for $2,500.
Never buy again
LF8C8412A (8kg)This machine is so over sold. The wash times are far too long to even be slightly efficient. The steam function which was sold as the bees knees / never iron again - rubbish - does not work. Worse machine I have ever had - should have stuck with the Bosch. Never heard for AEG when complained.

Bought twin pairs and both equally bad - beyond disappointed
8000 Series LF8E8411A (8 kg)I bought two 8kg washers and two 8Kg dryers because I love washing in my large laundry - or I used to. Now I dread it - i never know what surprise I'll end up with. Kids and husband all make jokes that if we want clothes to be ruined and stained then that's where they go... These two washers replaced one large Maytag that lasted 20 years no issue. Now, after 2 years of use (they be three years old) it's mostly t-shirts, polos and lighter chino / jeans / pants that gets rewarded with stains. Even clothes washed before first wear come out with st
... Read moreains. I leave the doors open religiously; do weekly 95 degree washes; clean the glass, rubber seals and filters fortnightly, do epsom salt washes; use 1/5th of the recommended detergent; etc etc etc. Bought them mid 2019 and both appear to consistently stain the clothes. I've started using Preen degreaser to try and remove the stains and that seems to be taking the edge off them after a few attempts. I've attached photos of a very small selection of clothes - it would just depress me further if I captured them all. The two AEG 8 kgs dryers - they're barely OK - nothing to rave about. Sometime they just don't dry clothes no matter how much I restart - I have to add another wet item; Rubbish for bed linen - that ends up in a ball and keeps stopping telling me its dry when inside ball it's not.... I bought these thinking they were the best - sadly not the case. I want to leave these on nature strip but will pursue customer service now before I do that. I will not ever buy AEG again.Purchased in .

This is terrible machine!
LF8C8412A (8kg)I purchased this machine from Harvey Norman. Staff there introduced me this brand. They said AEG is a good brand and good customer service and long warranty.
Today I finally received a call from AEG customer service and lady told me if I rise my voice up she will not going to help me .
What a horrible company and I didn’t even rise my voice up.
I have clearly told her the rubber door seal it came off and broken.
She said to me if it’s not the manufacture problem I need to pay for the repair.
Exercise me ?
So I asked her what is the manufacture problem. She said she don’t know .
I purchased this dryer this year and I only used it on rainy days.
... Read more I also said to her can I sent some photos to you guys. Cause she has not ideas what’s going on. She said they don’t have emails . I ask them is there an office that I can go and show them the photos. She said they don’t have offices and warehouse . For such a big company why they don’t have emails and warehouse or office. Don’t waste your money on this AEG . Make sure purchase something that they have actual store or office. Otherwise once you purchase their product you have hardly to fix any issues with this company . Long waiting period and poor customer service . Also everything will be blaming on you . So you will be pay for their manufacture fault.Purchased in at Harvey Norman for $2,299.

Supposed to come fix on 17/11/22. No one came and I called them back to confirm they said it’s Friday not Thursday. Today is Friday! Someone called me oh it’s on Saturday not Friday ! It’s so disgusting!
Ruining our clothing and sheets! Horrible machine!!
8000 Series LF8C9412A (9 kg)This machine looks great, Harvey Norman talked it up and we gladly paid the $2000. What a waste of money! This machine has torn out clothing, shrunk out clothing and we don’t know what to do about it. We have tried several different washing cycles thinking we were doing something wrong but NO turns out the machine is just horrible. How does a company get away with this? AEG this is disgusting.
In addition -clothing comes out so creased. It’s a 9kg machine and as an experiment I put in only 3 jumpers and they came out so creased and one even fa

Questions & Answers
Purchased both the 10kg & 8Kg 8000 series washer and dryer less than 2 weeks ago and am already regretting it. During operation they are both quite loud machines, with the washing machine in particular driving me crazy with a constant humming/low range buzzing sound throughout the cycle which I gather is the motor and water pump. Is this typical of the machine?
Also, the washing machine door has, just this morning 8/7/2023, developed a 'knocking' sound when in motion to be either opened or closed. ( as it's being swung, not the clicking sound of the latch when opening or closing). I gather it has something to do with the bolts internally.
The dryer seems to be operating 'ok' from what I can tell at the moment, but upon inspection of the heat exchanger/bottom filter metal fins, there are several that are misaligned and leaning on each other, creating small 'holes' in the grid, and by all accounts it's not good for optimal operation of airflow if the fins are touching one another...
Could anyone enlighten me on these issues?
Thank you in advance.
Hi there we have an AEG LF8C1612A, the rubber seal has been Moullet for years and we need to change it or get another machine. Not sure if it’s worth replacing and investing money when it’s likely to happen quite quickly again? Wondering if there an issue with the design of the rubber given the messages I’ve read below?
Do not bother replacing the seal! We did (well got a technician too) it was expensive and despite wiping down after every load, leaving door open to try and prevent mould again it is mouldy and just as disgusting as it was before :( absolute terrible design flaw!!

Another thing very funny is I clearly remembered the lady said my clothes damaged the dryer. Then I have to pay for the repair.
