Affordable Building Inspections

Building Mentor – I choose Darren of Affordable building inspections before I choose my builder. Before I employed him, he was guiding me through the building process - me 64 and a first-time builder. Darrens reports were comprehensive with photographs, so if I did not know what he meant the photographs helped. The builder also found his reports helpful, and they were in addition to their own quality control. An extra set of eyes. I managed to learn a lot about building, through Darren and others, and was fortunate that I had a really good building supervisor. The supervisor works for the builder, while Darren worked for me. Darren's advice was objective, realistic and subjective. Building standards although not referenced in his reports were clear to the reader and the builder. Not being a builder myself I went with a reputable builder. I chose to have a building inspector, to tell me the things that I didn't know. Building is hard, complicated and I misunderstood a lot of things, having a building inspector is helpful, Darren as well as his reports that were formal gave me the informal version as well - which was probably more useful to me. Overall, we had a good build. Having had building inspector, I know most of the issues that the builder or I will have to fix in the future.

Fraud Company – Fraud Company. Terrible Experience with Affordable Building Inspection. I recently hired Affordable Building Inspection, and I can't express how disappointed I am. They conducted an inspection and claimed there were no defects, yet we discovered numerous issues after moving in. The roof is leaking, there's no inlet for the washing machine, and the gas burner is broken. When we reached out to them, their response was simply, "We stand by our report." Really? How can you stand by a report when it misses such glaring problems?

I asked them to justify their findings, and despite sending videos of the issues, they have not bothered to respond. We expected a thorough inspection and some basic professionalism, but instead, we were left in the lurch.

If you’re considering Affordable Building Inspection, think twice. We hired them to identify problems, and they missed the most critical ones. Save your money and look elsewhere!

Excellent Building Inspection Company – When building a house you wont ABI to be on your team. Darren MD gave an excellent report on our newly built home that was very detailed and brought our builder to account and stood the test of time over during the builders maintenance period. He has great knowledge of the building industry and his after sales service is one of the best I have experienced being 12 months after handover he was still taking my calls and giving solid advice. thank you Darren.

An honest helpful & well priced company – I can highly recommend Affordable Building Inspections even though I have not used them for an inspection. The reason is that Darren (the owner & operator) talked me out of having an inspection done as it might be detrimental to the sale of my deceased father’s estate which was to go to auction. There is no requirement to have an inspection done when going to auction but the salesman recommended it. If you think about it, buyers may not see all the little things that a building inspection would highlight – things like peeling or chipped paint, a slight crack in the wall, a bit of rust or the like. They would have been one of the cheapest if I had proceeded.
